I know it's a movie, but can we all agree how awesome Tommy is? Kid took care of his like 3 day old brother (while being a baby himself), fed him, covered him, and kept him out of the rain in wolf infested woods. Tommy is the real OG
Tommy:♪Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these sunken eyes and learn to see All your life You were only waiting for this moment to be free Blackbird fly, blackbird fly Into the light of a dark black night Blackbird fly, blackbird fly Into the light of a dark black night Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise You were only waiting for this moment to arise You were only waiting for this moment to arise♪ This song Fits Tommy and Dil!! because Tommy was singing to Dil
I swear this whole part--Tommy exploding in anger, bringing Dil back, their brotherly moment--made me bawl as a child. Also in the beginning when Tommy felt neglected by his parents and sat in the closet. I remember watching this movie with my brother and neighbor friend, and my friend and I were both crying so much we went out into the hallway and hugged each other still sobbing hahaha. Seriously, though, THE FEELS!!! I just find it so touching how their relationship resonates with people no matter their age. It's innately human. :')
When I was younger, I enjoyed this song but now at 19 I still connect with this song, because I have an older brother and though I give him so much crap, he's willing to protect me and comfort me when I need him.
As an older brother, I always think about this scene. You're just not allowed to hate your little brother. You might literally want to feed him to the monkeys, but you can't and you don't actually want to lol
I know. I love it. It's about how much tommy loves his new, baby brother, dil & how much dil comes to love his big, caring brother. This is the beginning of a new special relationship ❤
I cry because he changes his mind and is nice to Dil in the end, when he should have shattered that jar across his head and let the monkey tear him to hell and back.
I love my baby brother so much he’s the best brother I could ever had he’s the best of me and no matter what I will always be with him I love u little brother
When i was a baby and when my mom was working late nigh shifts, my big teen sister would be there at home for me, when I'd cry she would come to my room to calm me down and sing me a lullaby to put me back to sleep , but i was like dil so cute!!!
I havent seen my brother in months. Last i saw he was in the shelter with me. When mom took her last breath we were both looking at her in eachothers arms. Now our movie when we were kids was the rigrats movie. If you seen that movie you know the scene in the woods that Tommy is tucking in Dil in a cave while singing him a song. Now that scene used to make me cry alot. Thats the reason i cant watch that movie. It triggers my emotions. Now i havent seen that movie in years. Through that time i even lost my daughter. Tucking in your kid is a very intimate moment and it just made me think of my daughter. Ill say i havent seen that movie in a good 15 years. I saw it today and it literally made me cry for like a half hour. I love you Gabriel and Elizabeth.
Tommy: (is singing sadly to try and comfort his baby brother). Baby, please, rest your head. Soon we will be home in bed... Until then, I'll protect you like no other. You're okay for a little brother. I loved this scene. Its so sad though
11 people clearly never owned this movie when they were a child and played it over and over on VHS until it started wearing out. going back on Netflix and watching this I think this is the best scene of the movie.
As a mother and a sibling. This hits me so hard.. I just watched this recently after so long. I broke down crying. All I wanted to do was hold them both and then hold my brother. Lol :')
These 2 (Tommy and Dil) are a good example of brotherly love. This was after Dil finally saw the light and accepted Tommy for who he really is; a loving brother.
I love this relationship between Tommy and Dil as brothers of the Pickles family. I do wish Angelica would do the same thing like Tommy so she can find true meaning of love and care for her cousin Tommy, if she had her pocket watch with two different cut photos of herself as a one year old and with little baby Tommy. Her pocket watch would be made by Grandpa Lou Pickles before he would make a second pocket watch for Tommy. Both Tommy and Angelica must get together to show true love and care, to show faith for each other as cousins, forever.
True, but if my idea of this came true with the love and care between Tommy and Angelica then it would be the conclusion or The End of the RUGRATS and there would be no violent fights between the two.
0:56 Dil:Oh wait a minute here's the other half of the blanket and again sorry for ripping it Tommy:Nevermind thanks between you and me let's not speak of the Fight we had again Dil:Agreed
MsGina my brother passed away. Of leukemia Couple years ago he's was 22 he's good brother we were close when we where growing up. Watching this video always brings tears to my eyes
Michael Marsh DylanS28 The Rugrats Movie was the first movie I remember seeing in a movie theater. That was way back in November 1998 (I was almost six years old at the time). I think I probably saw it opening weekend, because the first time my mom and I got in line, the screening sold out before we could get our tickets, and we had to wait for the next screening. We got in the second time, but it was almost sold out too.
obsesstivereader21The film was a HUGE hit at the box office. It actually opened at #1 with $27,321,470 (already surpassing its $24 million budget) from 2,782 theaters for an average of $9,821 per venue. Remember, movie tickets only cost $4.69 back in 1998, so that would be equal to over $47 million today. It ended up grossing $100,494,675 domestically, or the equivalent of $172 million today, becoming the first animated movie NOT produced by Disney to gross over $100 million in North America. Another $40,400,000 overseas brought the worldwide gross to $140,894,675.The film wasn't nominated for many awards, but it DID win that year's Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Movie.
I think the thunderstorm not only scared Dil but made him think that Tommy had walked away and abandoned him, even though he'd only gone outside to retrieve his golden watch. But when he saw Tommy come back in, he calmed down. This scene, in my view, is the first scene where Dil shows he does actually care about Tommy, as up until then, his behaviour certainly didn't give that impression. I think when Dil finally came across something that scared him, in this case, the thunder, that made him change his views about Tommy and made him show more respect and appreciate him better.
I think he settled down briefly because he was afraid of getting his poopy ass kicked in. But on the whole, he remained just as nasty, disgusting and fucked up…Tommy just caved and acted forever like Dil was wonderful.
older siblings can seriously relate to this...we may bump.heads but we go hard for our younger siblings...seeing this as a kid brought me and my baby brother together....#TheFeels, #loveYaChris 😭😭😭😭😭
Shit, almost cried? Those tears were running down my face as I looked at my 2 year old and thought about just how much my step son actually loves his baby bro
Can we just talk about how they never watched they kids, in reality this whole movie is so problematic when u think about it. Real life infants wouldn't have survived this.
Are you serious? It's a kids movie. There is no logic in a kids show/movie. Plus it's Rugrats. The show is about six babies and two toddlers. Do you really think there is gonna be any logic? Stop ruining a good cartoon/movie, and enjoy it. Nobody likes a critic with a buzzkill attitude.

In the words of Pixar's Brave, when Dil offered to give Tommy the other half of the ripped blanket, that's what I call mending the bond torn by pride.

Besides ALL GROWN UP! had a few boring episodes that was really bringing the RUGRATS continuation to an end in 2008.
tommy may have more of a bad brother than a bad cousin with her bad uncle. but it's happy with his goofy father, smart mother, even their parents.
