This scene is pure gold. It is just so simply perfect, the echo effect at the end as Dil drifts off to sleep with no music in the background is such a perfect detail.
This scene (and also Chuckies mom) made me cry. I didn't understand it back then, but now that I'm older, it makes realize how precious life is and how much I love my mom.
Ugh 😢 I was singing this to my baby and I started crying and came to this video cried some more and I read your comment now I’m balling my eyes out. I’m so sorry for your loss 💔
@@orchote she got overwhelmed. Dil was a brand new baby, and a really high-maintenance one at that. But later episodes show that as soon as Dil had enough time to assimilate into the family, she gave equal loving treatment to both boys.
For a TV show that had a plot which required for the parents and other adults to be ridiculously oblivious to their babies and toddlers safety and well-being, so the kids could go on all these adventures without them, Didi wasn’t too bad of a mom.

i remember even when i was a kid i was struck by how peaceful and heartwarming this scene felt. it gets me all choked up even now...this show's emotional moments were so genuine
Wow.I watched this episode for the first time when I was 8 eight years old. Dils favorite song is his mother and he dreams of his brother Tommy. I can't even. This period of animation just relates so much forget how much they have effected us. Thank you so much creator, animators, voice actors etc. You have no idea how much this means to people like me watching these shows growing up to who I am now. So grateful!
The beauty of the scene is the very end, when Dill dream about his brother Tommy, cause during the episode he was trying to make Dill fall sleep...so it means that Dill loves Tommy at all
My grandma told me when I was five I would sit with her in a rocking chair, when she tried singing for me I would tell her not to sing. It wasn’t because I didn’t like her singing, but because it was always loud with arguments when I used to live in my parents’ house, and she understood I just needed some peace and quiet.
The day my mom buried my 101 year old great granny, this has got me thinking about the good times my mom had with her when she was still around and now she is going to miss her so much.
The context was just as beautiful as the episode. They wanted Dil to know the joys of songs and how it made them feel. Tommy showed how much he loves his little brother, and this in turn reflects how much Dil loves and appreciate his big brother too.
@@rodneypickettiii8632 so that means he's allowed to steal Tommy's toys, attack him with a rattle even in moments that are supposed to be touching, and then demand that he show him attention? The one thing I will give the reboot is the fact that they're actually working really hard to make dill not an evil baby. Because the dill in the original series is a bad baby. He gleefully strikes Tommy and his friends with rattles and toys and delights in their pain
He dreamed of his brother, that's soooo cute!
That’s what I thought. He loves his big brother.
@@queenwishieluck1359 it tekes more than 20 years later that i see this in the TV for me to realise that...simple amazing

Didi was such a great mother to both Tommy and Dil
She totally ignored Tommy the minute Dil was born and treated him like shit….

Dil and Tommy are adorable.
He was probably thinking, in his own little way, you see, how to best bite, scream, shit all over and generally fuck up Tommy's life the next day.

He’s just a newborn
If anything maybe he needs Tommy's love even more in that case to influence him positively.
