The muffler delete is how it should’ve sounded from the factory. The race bullets sound amazing on that car. I love a sound like that coming from something so unassuming!
I disagree it cheapens the car. The second one with the resonators still intact that's a better sound. You don't want to butcher these cars. They're collectible.
For that vehicle, I think you are spot on when you said leave the factory resonator and delete the rear muffler. It's a very throaty, muscular, but classy, sound. The Dynomax has that extra volume, but also a little raspy pop that doesn't compliment a Lexus. It it was a Camaro, yes. But not for a Lexus. Awesome content as always! My ears are happy and I can get on with my day :)
A quality performance muffler beats a muffler delete any time if you pick the right muffler for the application. In this case the Dynomax wins but it would sound even better with the tips on the second Lexus.
That white one sounds good, but a good quality X-pipe wouldn't be bad in place of that 3rd cat/Y-pipe setup. The pewter/gray one wasn't bad, either. To be perfectly frank, this is purely about preference. They both sounded awesome, but do you prefer a little louder and more "open" or a little more reserved...? That's the REAL question. I wonder what the grey one would sound like with Dynomax Race Bullets bullets all the way at the rear.
I always thought this was actually a good looking Lexus. Top Gear was on drugs when they called this the ugliest vehicle in the world in the mid 2000s. Nowadays it is so many terrible and poor designs coming out that they make this SC430 look like a Ferrari. 😂

She definitely sounds amazing 🎶😎💯. I just purchased an 07 that's in transport right now to me I can't wait to do a full header back with x pipes and aftermarket resonators after that we'll work on the final sounds.💯
I am running true dual setup with 2.5" pipes front to rear with the stock cats (the important ones), and the 3rd cat removed and resonator delete with an xpipe in its place, and a pair of flowmasters that belong on a muscle car, and 4" titanium blue tips to match the color of my car, and it sounds absolutely ridiculous. I had this same setup before with Magnaflows at the rear, and it was quieter. I have still yet to see an SC that sounds like mine. I am looking to take some of the bite out of my exhaust, and need to find a shop that has a decibel meter. These cars come with the exhaust pipe crimped as it connected to the rear stock muffler, which is very restrictive. I had the first version of my exhaust setup with the same crimp thinking backpressure would be good, but it's an urban legend for the most part unless I am running it with nothing after the exhaust manifolds. Getting rid of that crimped spot on each side helps a ton, and allows it to breath better. Mine is a 2006 which has the 6 speed auto that moves quicker and revs faster when you shift manually and take off in first gear. I have many other mods on mine however, and the power is "more" than stock to say the least, and I am in the middle of building up the extra engine that came from my totaled 2009 with the expectation of close to 400hp before running forced induction. I live in CA unfortunately, so we have our hands tied here. The Xpipe works wonders with low end grunt. Since I am running true dual, I need to install 2 cat converters on the rear instead of just one now, per the smog station which would have visually failed my car, though its ridiculous since the 3rd cat converter more than likely isnt doing much, and there are no O2 sensors in that one. Finally - headers are going to make a BIG difference on the car, and add about 20hp and torque to the rear wheels with a good exhaust setup. Adding a tune from Quantum, and then getting a 2800 stall lextreme torque converter (rebuilt stock unit) allows the car to use its power much better, and will bring the car in the roughly 5 second range for the 0-60. If you can do the work yourself, its roughly 2k in parts. I recommend running an external trans cooler with the hotter torque converter, even better also find an all aluminum radiator on ebay which is 3 times as thick and will last you 10 years compared to the shitty stock radiator that still keeps the car cool in hot weather, but they have plastic end tanks. These cars are neutered from the factory, and the electronic throttle does not open as fast as you stomp on the gas, and these cars wont spin the tires too well because of it. A $100 throttle controller from sc430mods.com will allow the throttle to open as fast as you can stomp the pedal, and the rear rubber WILL spin quite wildly, and this is without cheating and holding the brakes down - put it in gear and stomp. But with these other mods I mentioned, it removes the neutered shit from the factory, with a stock tune that makes you want to not realize its a V8.
@@CB12345 I'm sure that a clean example goes for a crazy price. If I had the money I'd totally get one and use it for what it was meant for. Within reason tho.

Stock muffler sounds like a phone ringing. After ruining it by removing Lexus’ engineering it sounds cheap. Silver one sounds good. Thanks for the video.
This SC430 sounds great but the potential of the SC300 with a quick NA-T conversion package is much better. Only because there are so many prebuilt kits mass produced for the 2JZ-GE . It’s almost as easy as buying a Lego KiT with instructions . Don’t take this as criticism of the SC430 though. Very capable car and sounds amazing. Just not as powerful as it sounds and you run into the same problem as 96% of Hondas out there . They sound fast but after 25 seconds of full throttle you can still see the car lol Edit: anyone else miss when the number on back of the car used to stand for the engine size ? Like Mercedes , BMW , Lexus and numerous other car manufacturers used to do
The jz definitely has more potential and aftermarket support, it would also be really cool to see a swap in this body. But the people that guy these are almost strictly 50 years or older lol. These cars haven’t made it to the modding scene quite yet
The 3UZ has weak rods.. the stock pistons are good for 450-500hp. The rest of the engine including the stock crank is good for over 1000hp. These engines have 6 bolt mains, and with the couple of weak spots fixed, they can take a shit ton of punishment. I am in the middle of building up an extra 3UZ from my totaled 2009, and I am likely enlarging it slightly, to 4.45L which is the farthest I can go without using sleeve which would encroach on the water jackets. There is a shop in Florida that will do a full 2JZ conversion with turbo setup and everything for $16k, and its tempting to be honest. But these V8's are used for racing in Japan and some Supra's have gotten this swapped in as well. Unfortunately, these V8's are VERY expensive to modify where ther Supra engine is cheaper and much easier. I live in CA unfortunately, so if I at least keep it "stock looking" and with the stock tune just long enough to smog, I should be able to get by. A few simple mods like a tune, throttle controller, headers and 2800stall torque converter will shave over 1 second off the 0-60 to make it around 5 seconds, and make the car pretty quick!
@@bpearr8266 People are modding these cars more and more now.. aftermarket support is increasing such as support from the Supra store online site, with heads/cams packages, etc. ruclips.net/video/lO7vKvcF8-E/видео.html This video is for a company in Florida that will do everything needed to your SC430 to get a 2JZ-GTE turbo swap done including tuning for $16k I was told last year.
