I’m 75 and have been happily breathing in petrol and diesel fumes all my life and still here with no problems so don’t worry about your kids Lee. Worry more about your kids being turned into faceless state controlled zombies doing everything the all powerful government tell them.
In the 1980's, I would often get random cars parked on my drive in front of my garage. This was close to Clapham Common in south London. Easy remedy? A trolley jack, raise and wheel the offending car into the road. The police would always come along swiftly and tow it away for blocking the road. Nothing to do with me LOL.
There is more to having a dog than being responsible to pick up dog poo. The love and companionship is priceless. I knew as soon as you said the car was a Volvo it was Jeff Buys Car. Safe travels.
I still have an AM/FM radio from the 1960s, a few years younger than I am, inherited from my Dad, that takes a 9 volt battery. Still works last I checked..
I'm 73 and have done the same breathing diesel as a child and I'm still going strong.even though with my petrol car I only drive short trips it is still less expensive than electric..push on..I like your driving sequences
I worked as a Service Manager in a Garage (90's), we had our own Esso forecourt and had attended service with a lad stood by the pumps if anyone required it.
The right hand lane at junctions isn't for people to race others away from the lights and get in front of everyone else, its meant to shorten the length of the queue.
had my suspicions that this was Geoff buys cars all along and having watched Geoffs video with you in the car I honestly find the whole thing hilarious and hope that you both do more videos together as they are always funny and great to watch
A 16 year old car is practically brand new in my book. I currently daily drive a 1981 Triumph, and despite being 43 years old, it still works perfectly in the modern world. It's 100% reliable, and it does 50 mpg. Best of all, it has no technology in it whatsoever. It's brilliant.
. . had the same years ago . . took a hammer to the side window . . took off the handbrake and pushed the van out into so it blocked the road and left it there . . it soon got removed . . the culprit who had 3 spaces and a garage never did it again . .
Not convinced by the whole green thing. Take Electricity, 12p per kWh when we burned coal, now after spending £35 billion on wind turbines its 26p per kWh more than double, and that is with a price cap introduced to protect us from even bigger increases. We backed the wrong horse. Probably will see exactly the same thing with EV's once the smoke and mirrors of incentive and subsidy are removed!.
BHX Airport : That car park is my favourite one, as you save £5 compared to the airport drop off - you just use the maglev driverless train which is every 2 mins. The day rate in the multi story is only £12.50, which is cheaper than the airport also…. Don’t tell anyone Lee!
If somebody left a car on my driveway (if I had one), I would have parked it on the road and told them to come and get it. Fair play for taking it as well as you did.
I did enjoy your "outside lane" rant. It's like when a queue of cars overtake a truck on a dual carriageway, and each peels off to the side in reverse order, gradually. Was anyone else just watching the video to see the 850?
As a Canadian, I thought I'd heard every curse word or expression. But to hear Macmaster call the ifiot driver a cockwomble....well that is too hilarious. I think I'll use that word when someone cuts me off on the road.
Always enjoy your videos when driving around the Mansfield area. I also lived in Mans Woodhouse and Mansfield for 40+ years before moving to Yorkshire in last few years, so seeing some old haunts is great. You actually drove/walked past two of my old houses in this video. Oh, and I also have an EV 😂
That must’ve been such a treat for you Lee - pulling in to the filling station and then being able to be on your way again in a couple of minutes, all fuelled up 😁 Can’t beat it 😊 And of course, the proper noise from that 5-pot engine too ❤
As Max Bygraves used to say "I wanna tell you a story" . My family and I emigrated to Australia over 20 years ago from Ireland, and initially brought essentials, clothes and kids toys. One of my kids toys was a Buzz Lightyear which needed batteries to work for the voice, lazer sounds and other sounds. Recently I came accross these toys and decided to refurbish them, when I took apart Buzz I was amazed to find all the sounds still worked but even more amazing that the toy had two Tesco branded double AA batteries in it. As Tescos is not in Australia I can only assume the batteries ( no corrosion) were over 20 years old and still worked. So some things still actually work with 20 year old batteries.😮⚡🔋
Oh yes i remember when someone put fuel ⛽ in you're car for you our local fuel station in the 90's did just that and vhs video hire from there too 😆 great video Lee 😅 looking forward to tomorrow's 👍
13 16 Most cars will look the same these days as they are designed now via wind tunnel results to optimise drag efficiency. I am not bothered what a car looks like as never been a poser. It's a metal box that keeps us warm and dry in Winter or cool on the odd hot day or two😎 Gets us from A to B without costing a fortune in energy or posing premiums. Our Honda Jazz averages 62 MPG (all petrol) Gaz Yorkshire.
Many years ago, before privatisation, Public transport worked very well, because all the services had connections between bus and train. As soon as everything was privatised, all the systems went through the window, and the travelling public were left high and dry, and continues to do so right up to the present day. 😢
I owned a flip phone 20 years ago and loved it. It however sadly became obsolete as the camera on it was bad, and it didn't have touchscreen. Sending a simple text on it took took years....which was a real pity. Its as you say, things with batteries are not designed to last many, many years, with the exception of the ICE car. Great video 👍
Back in the day, you filled up your car at a Texaco and got the Texaco star points to collect by sticking them in a little book. Collect enough and you sent off for glasses, whiskey decanters, cheap cameras and all sorts of stuff. My dad was a sales rep and we got just about everything in the catalogue!
I have never driven a car because being from London we have always had a great transport system but now it's expensive and you can only travel at certain times .Do not give up your cars, friends, or your freedom will be gone
When you consider that the amount that you are paying for extending the warranty on the Tincan for a year is similar to buying the Volvo it puts everything in perspective.
My Mrs still has a few battery operated items from 10 years ago in her draw........apparently they're more exciting than me...........I don't understand how a watch, eyebrow trimmers and a torch can be exciting at all.
Sometimes public transport is better than driving in vehicle (bumper to bumper traffic on the motorways & city streets) especially a EV which would take twice as long than an ice car. McMaster it’s a matter of choice & you are right they are trying to take vehicles away from people. Forwards my friend.😊
Can anyone please tell me, on an older petrol or diesel car like this Volvo, how can you know, or where does it display how much range you have, I never known about it or seen it other than on EVs?
That’s Geoff all day long 👍🏻doesn’t excuse him from leaving it there for aweek .. leave a note on the windscreen ffs 😂 there’s less rust on the titanic
Don’t like breathing in the smell of petrol and diesel? In my experience the worst thing is driving behind a car / van with plumes of drugs smoke bellowing out! Try following behind them it’s horrendous.
I got a 1959 Cadillac 2dr Coupe De Ville with 4 glass headlights and 4 bullets tail lights that's fully restored 19 1/2 feet long. You just don't see round glass headlights anymore on cars,,,,,,,,,,,,
ive got a zoom 220 drum and bass battery and power cord loop machine from 1990s ,i use it every few mnths and a nokia and samsong mobile phones from 2000s,so very few battery power devices that works
Got plenty of old things that work on batteries in the house. Just saw a pink stick around the house. But joking aside, you used to be able to replace batteries. They changed that on everything and made it disposable. But my old nintendo, i can change the batteries.
I have to admit newer cars are nicer to commute in less stressful. But the enjoyment of driving is in something older I have two cars and a motorcycle. A new hybrid Volvo(the only way electric works) and a 19 year old Clio 182 the Clio bits the biggest smile on my face every time I get in it!!!
Still have quite a few battery operated appliances at home from camera’ 20 years old and still using original rechargeable battery, vacuum cleaner over 10 years old on its 2nd battery just to name a couple of items. I don’t have any 10year old ICE vehicles, never keep them that long, they’re past their best by that time.
Excellent video Lee! A more modern Petrol or Diesel has a lot more oomph IMO. You should see if Porsche will let you buy a Petrol 911, that would be fun to see you drive that! 👍
The answer to dog poo pick ups is a 'Handiscoop' no back breaking bending over, comes in long handle or short handle version, sorry to sound like an advert, but been using the thing for years, great british product.
We used to pull a dog to the side of the road to have a shit. Many people pick the mess up and dump it in somebody's hedge. We've lost the plot with dog poo collection.
I’m 75 and have been happily breathing in petrol and diesel fumes all my life and still here with no problems so don’t worry about your kids Lee. Worry more about your kids being turned into faceless state controlled zombies doing everything the all powerful government tell them.
Well said
It's all about money money and more money grabbing

as soon as I saw the volvo, I knew Geoff was behind it. 😂😂😂
it had to be geoff
Well Lee, let's say the Volvo will still be running after the EV Porscher Taycan ends up as landfill 😉 😉 Au
I worked as a Service Manager in a Garage (90's), we had our own Esso forecourt and had attended service with a lad stood by the pumps if anyone required it.
Beware of things labelled “Smart”
You beat me to it, there's plenty of knobs in EV's
The right hand lane at junctions isn't for people to race others away from the lights and get in front of everyone else, its meant to shorten the length of the queue.
Doesn't shorten it if they mess around!
@@bk14biker Ah all these years I've been misled 😂😂
Thanks for taking me on a trip today, really enjoyed it ❤
I understand that, allegedly, Government policy is backfiring and promoting a boost in sales of diesel cars.
He knew who's car it was all along Clickbait specialist..
Nope! Tell my Ex Wife that!!! She was terrified it was a Burglar!
had my suspicions that this was Geoff buys cars all along and having watched Geoffs video with you in the car I honestly find the whole thing hilarious and hope that you both do more videos together as they are always funny and great to watch
I agree with you on Jeremy Vine on the radio, how he’s still on there I don’t know.
I'm pretty sure the dot and the pound symbol have fallen off the rear window. £8.50 sounds about right to me 🤔😂
Geoff buys cars one of his bangers?
A 16 year old car is practically brand new in my book. I currently daily drive a 1981 Triumph, and despite being 43 years old, it still works perfectly in the modern world. It's 100% reliable, and it does 50 mpg. Best of all, it has no technology in it whatsoever. It's brilliant.

EXCELLENT ADVICE - and similar to what I had posted about how to deal with TRESPASSERS like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not convinced by the whole green thing. The base price of electricity is set by the price of gas. Cheaper wind and solar are not allowed to undercut this.
Spot on when all subsidies are removed and pay per mile
Your trousers will be up and down
The environment will look after it's self.😊

My portable cassette and cd and radio player, I bought 20 years ago and it still works.
If somebody left a car on my driveway (if I had one), I would have parked it on the road and told them to come and get it. Fair play for taking it as well as you did.
Ford capri has gone from looking like Julia Roberts to looking like Alf Roberts😅
I did enjoy your "outside lane" rant. It's like when a queue of cars overtake a truck on a dual carriageway, and each peels off to the side in reverse order, gradually. Was anyone else just watching the video to see the 850?
Only use public transport when I going for a drink and the journey home is so so because alcohol softens the blow lol
Steer clear of labradors mate, have you seen how many of their owners go blind!
Nice one, Geoff. 😂 Well, you've just improved your driving skills, Lee. A proper car.
Still got a battery LED calculator from 1974! Had 50 years 😳
Trouble with public transport is it's so expensive ,not reliable and where I live no bus on a Sunday unless you walk half a mile to get 1 😢
Just say NO to Kamaltoe!
As a Canadian, I thought I'd heard every curse word or expression. But to hear Macmaster call the ifiot driver a cockwomble....well that is too hilarious. I think I'll use that word when someone cuts me off on the road.
Trains don't leave from where you are, and don't go to where you want to go to. Unlike private cars. No contest.
Glad to see you got your priorities right, getting your haircut before sorting the Volvo!!!! WTH:)
Geoff buys cars pranking you. lol 😂 😂😂😂😂😂
Gotta be Geoff... he's the 850 King 😂
“I just saw a man carrying around a dog of poo” that brought up some horrifying mental images. 😂
might be an old volvo bit will last longer then your ev lol
I've got a radio control car from 1983, and it still works with the batteries I bought back then.

Just came across this one 😂
Geoff 😂😂 haha . Good prank wrong place 🤦♀️🤣
The x was not impressed lol.
Heads up guys Mac master is Foo Ming! Special ops of the Chinese dynasty!.
Mister Macmaster! A lot of faffing around on here 😂😂🎉
We all know it’s Geoff buys cars. I had an old lady behind me at a red light honking at me today. So I flipped her off 🤣
I'd rather have the 850 instead of an electric car, especially a T5R!
180
We made it to the end.
3 trains, prawn cocktail, 850
Love David and Lily.

The reason old diesel vehicles smoke is because of a lack of maintaining them. With euro6 engines you don't get that.
It's weird seeing you drive something cool for a change 😉 love an old volvo
I owned a flip phone 20 years ago and loved it. It however sadly became obsolete as the camera on it was bad, and it didn't have touchscreen. Lovely Volvo 850 😊😊😊😊
lol. ooops we do. you been Geoffed
Lee I always love your videos but mate you need to find a new barber where did this guy train, Dewhursts.
Was it Geoff 😂😂😂

Geoff leaves cars..😂😂😂😂
Hi Lee would you be good enough to let me know the make and model of your wristwatch it looks really good and its what I could make good use of.
My Mrs still has a few battery operated items from 10 years ago in her draw........apparently they're more exciting than me...........I don't understand how a watch, eyebrow trimmers and a torch can be exciting at all.
I had an 18 year old VW which I traded in last year, it was amazing, love VW. Thanks for the vlog xx
Can’t believe you didn’t think it would be Geoff
Sometimes public transport is better than driving in vehicle (bumper to bumper traffic on the motorways & city streets) especially a EV which would take twice as long than an ice car. McMaster it’s a matter of choice & you are right they are trying to take vehicles away from people. Forwards my friend.😊
Because your Speedometer reads 3mph over where as the HGV's is calibrated so for you 50mph is anactual 47 where the HGV 50 is 50.
SA still has petrol attendants. Love it. Feels like f1 pitstop sometimes. Just missing the change of wheels lol
In the United States-New jersey and Oregon there are still mandatory full service stations(odd state law).
There’s videos about it.
I would love to see how amazing your Tucan wil lock and drive at the same age as the Volvo
Can anyone please tell me, on an older petrol or diesel car like this Volvo, how can you know, or where does it display how much range you have, I never known about it or seen it other than on EVs?
My 99 Venture displayed range, instant MPG, and average MPG. It was pretty accurate too .
Are you talking 80s, or early 90s? I don't recall any cars having that, unless it was a top end, or Japanese car
@@isaaclang6031 ... Well, our car is a 2011 one so quite a bit newer than the Volvo in the video, but I can't see any range display.
That’s Geoff all day long 👍🏻doesn’t excuse him from leaving it there for aweek .. leave a note on the windscreen ffs 😂 there’s less rust on the titanic

I'm on the Costa del sol at the moment and the coastal trains are superb and cheap.
I got a 1959 Cadillac 2dr Coupe De Ville with 4 glass headlights and 4 bullets tail lights that's fully restored 19 1/2 feet long. You just don't see round glass headlights anymore on cars,,,,,,,,,,,,
Ice, iced Davy
Geoff buys cars hasn't left you a present as he 😂😂 hope it gets sorted lee. Btw I commented before I knew it was Geoff 😅😅 what a good guess 😂😂
before i looked at the comments, that was the first words out of my mouth to the mrs lol
Wow good looking volvo apart from the 850 sticker in rear window I'd have that over a crap ev .
The Volvo is a gift from God.
No click till I get to the end ? MacMaster, this is a 1 hour video ! I have things to do, people to see, places to go to !
To be fair… that’s a 180k mile car on coil over suspension the ride is awful 😂😂
Even my wife knew the 850 was geoff's 😂😂
P. S my car is 2015...only 76.000 it...I will use it until I can't anymore. 😁
It was Geoff all along, hilarious.
Hi lee had a feeling it was geoff hahaa😂 great video😂
ive got a zoom 220 drum and bass battery and power cord loop machine from 1990s ,i use it every few mnths and a nokia and samsong mobile phones from 2000s,so very few battery power devices that works
Thats a perfect car, not a rickety Volvo. You can have any car from Geoffleprise but they have to be old well built Volvo's
Got plenty of old things that work on batteries in the house. Just saw a pink stick around the house. But joking aside, you used to be able to replace batteries. They changed that on everything and made it disposable. But my old nintendo, i can change the batteries.
Public transport definitely doesn’t work id rather have an old Volvo much better

Watching at 1.19 in the morning, bet lee is passed out on Jameson lol
Passed out on the jameson that's a whisky business!

I’m with you Lee, regarding the ‘little bags of dog gifts!’. Would love a dog. But that’s a step too far I’m afraid, for me at least
Excellent video Lee! A more modern Petrol or Diesel has a lot more oomph IMO. You should see if Porsche will let you buy a Petrol 911, that would be fun to see you drive that! 👍
Im with you i hate people having conversation on loud speaker . We dont want to hear it .
I haven't got out of my car to refill for years. Sit in the car with the AC on and it's only about 0.85 pence a litre.
