@@504Trey The opening 40 minutes or so look a bit better in the original but once the game opens up, literally everything looks miles better in the remastered version...I just can't go back to the low poly textures and robotic expression characters of the original after playing the remastered for a few hours
Has anyone told you that you kind of sound like Tony Hinchcliffe. Anyway, great video and glad to hear this remaster is worth revisiting. I'm excited to jump back in.
The point in using VRR is not to go beyond 60fps, but to be able to have 40+ fps instead of capped 30fps in quality mode (given you have a compatible TV). 40+ feels significantly more fluid than 30 most of the times
@@richnick1911how old are you? You made the comment just to brag about having something most people who come to videos like this will have anyway. Did you even consider your audience? You're bragging to people that have the same hobby and setup. 🙄
@jjsavior Bragging??? Its a TV not a Ferrari and besides I'm Happy for myself because I had the same tv for 17 years and a ps4 for 11 years. I owe myself an upgrade!
Playing this game on the PS4 Pro now. Got Horizon as a monthly free game on P.S Plus. Wondering if I will be able to patch this game next week when I get my PS5 Pro.
All though I think it was a waste of resources to remaster this game, I still think they did a great job. For 10 dollars upgrade to the base game (which can be found dirt cheap at this point), it's WELL worth it.
It's an incredible visual upgrade, but ya totally unnecessary remaster. I look forward to seeing the PS5 Pro bump up on this one in the near future. Should be quite stunning...
I've watched a couple game reviews already and can I just say, while I do understand your excitement over the visual enhancements, can all of you stop gushing about it for one minute and actually play it for a bit - not just running around and roaming. Actually play the game. Are there actually any improvements on the gameplay? While I enjoyed the game, I can't be the only one that had some gameplay frustrations. I get it. I looks nice. It's all pretty. It's all smooth. But for the love of ... (deep breath) ... someone please review the GAMEPLAY. 😫 ... 🙂 ... 😇 ... 😂 Okay, I feel better now. For a "review", it's not really helping me make a decision lol
It's the same game, it just looks better. Skip to the latter part of the video if you want action. I'm focusing on the changes for the game first since that's what's important, then later talking about it overall.
@@Skycaptin5 Sorry! I may have come off a little too strong. I searched "gameplay" and I keep clicking on those videos but they just run around in the game showcasing visuals. Yours was the last video I watched for the day. Anyway, good review. Wish it had more. Peace!
I got Horizon Forbidden West with my PS5 bundle back in 2022 and when I tried it, I thought it was one of the most graphically impressive games I've ever seen, but also one of the most boring. This looks much the same.
That's how the game is. I hated it. Took me a while yo jump back in and the story for forbidden west got good from the beginning new area and it was a more melee capable still not great. But the world was more lived in and that drew me in a bit and with the story picking up I finally liked it and then the graphics just made me wish every game had this engine.
you can switch to New Zealand in your region settings, but dunno if this works on the PS5, cuz I never tried it there - was a XSX user before and there you was able to switch to New Zealand, reboot the console, install and play the game 1 day earlier
It's definitely worth it imo. I was in the middle of my first playthrough when this was announced. I put the to the side as i await the upgrade. Playing FFXV, Gotham Nights and Forza 4 until then
My TV supports VRR. So I'm gonna play it with 40 FPS which is the best option for me. Thanks for showing an explaining the remastered version of the game 😊
Looks fabulous. I just wish i had more time to eat crumpets each day. With butter, cheese and put under the grill for a couple of minutes, they are delicious! 😋

£10 is very fair for what we're getting. I have no complaints.
Got the game for free during the pandemic/lockdown time....and $10 for the remastered that includes this amount of work...I have no complaints !

I switched from XSX back to the PS (PS5) and Skycaptin still delivers the videos I learned to love as a XSX-Player. Thanks, mate!
10 dollar upgrade, yeah I’m totally up for that. Will totally be replaying over the weekend.
Have fun, it’s a really great game!

any solution on face tattoos disappearing ?
Turn off face tattoos entirely, then they can’t disappear
is there a stash for more storage ?
@@asssassinscreednext-gen5107 nope
Did they at least add auto collect toggle in the options, that they later added to forbidden west?
@@Berserker006 yes
Hi, i just started playing it and been having a lot of pop in during cutscenes. Is it common?
depends on the type of cutscenes, which graphics mode?

I'll be playing this next week on my new 77" LG G4 with the PS5 Pro.
The uncapped frame rate helps just like with part 2. Not only for the 40fps mode.

Do you know? Is the trophy list in the Remaster, separate to the PS4 version?
Yes. Every native PS5 version must have a new list.
@saejima I thought The Last of Us Part 2 didn't, no???

IMO not as good as in Forbidden West, can’t really name the reasons but I turned it off under 30 minutes.

It's a $10 upgrade from that path I believe
@Skycaptin5 thank you!
is there a stash and can you tag machine parts like forbidden west ?
I had issues getting 60fps on Forbidden West because it either wanted 30fps or 120fps.
The original was already beautiful. But this looks gorgeous.
It's really quite visually stunning, great bump, but it was also already a beautiful looking game.
Totally didn’t realize this was a thing. Enjoyed this game even though didn’t complete it on original release.
Great improvement to original and I just miss the flying
Just popped in the original last night and saved it on my hardrive just so I can see the difference in person.
Iv always said if u have a 4k tv why would u want to downgrade the resolution
Most of the time it's for the better frame rate so the game feels smoother.
@Skycaptin5 I grew up in a time where frame rates didn't change so I'm always happy with 4k 30 each to their own i guess
If you pay 10 for it because you have the ps4 disc will you need the disc in future to play it
What if i own the disc ps4 can i get an upgrade?
@Bored2deathofgames yes. Just pop the disc in when it launches and you can upgrade.
@abnormalnox sick
It is possible once you pay 10 dollars
Great video, Sky! Thank you! 👍
Just preordered this😎
enjoy!

I suspect this is future proofing the game.
Not our property or money being spent to make it. So why do we care what companies spend there money on.
Guerilla didn’t do this 😂
I never played it before, but I will give it a try
It's the perfect time to do so, great game!
I bought it on pc, but i own originals on both pc and Playstation
Great review! I love the Horizon games. Already preordered this. Will be nice to replay it and frozen wilds again.😊
I hope you enjoy, it's quite a grand adventure!
If we’re getting all of this for a 10 dollar upgrade… why was TLOU remake full priced? This is way more impressive than that project.

Yes, it's going to be that much overhead.
Does it run on a PS5? The PlayStation App quotes a PS5 Pro in System Requirements.
Well, since this is gameplay on the PS5, I'd say yes.

4k30 over everything. 40 is cool if its 4k. I dont want less
Nah, neva enjoy original and 10 dollars upgrade not worth the price in my opinion.
I didn't like the original until I saw gameplay of the sequel. Then I gave it another chance and fell in love with it.

Why do ps5 games still look like ps2 games. Poor hardware
nooooooo wayyyyyyyyy
