Salawaat Greetings of Love
Invoking the peace and blessings of Allah Almighty upon His Beloved, our Master, Muhammad Rasoolullah (Peace be upon him) is something which Allah Almighty has ordered in the Noble Qur'an. The virtues of sending salam upon the Beloved (Peace be upon him) are mentioned in hadith too. It has been the way of Muslims for over fourteen centuries to send salutations upon the Final Prophet (Peace be upon him). It is an expression of love and a means for every ummati (follower) to connect with his Master (Peace be upon him).
The Arabic words of this poem can be heard resonating in mosques around the world, especially after Jumu'ah Salah, because Friday is especially mentioned in hadith as the day when the Prophet (Peace be upon him) listens to the salawaat of his followers, wherever they may be.
