I believe I have HSD. I have no official DX I was sent by my pcp to a terrible rheumatologist who just wrote me off because he couldn’t make my thumb reach my wrist but I’m 70 years old now and full of arthritis so nothing is real loose anymore. When was younger I had many knee , jaw dislocations . I could make my hip pop and I could touch my hands to the floor. I stand in my ankles and have always bruised very easy and scar very easy. I have many allergies including food allergies. Indont know of any other family members that have this issue .I don’t know if I even need a Dx at this point in my life . But I would like to out a name to what’s been wrong with me my whole life. I used to tell my mother I was born with faulty hinges. I also had hyperparathyroid disease and recently had surgery to remove adenomas and a large nodule of my thyroid so half my thyroid was removed also. Would appreciate any info.

@@jwilleseries7764 I did genetic testing and it doesn’t show up but they say HEDS won’t since I don’t now and never did meet every criteria but met many I believe I have HSD. Although many subluxation issues gone now that I’m filled with arthritis.
I have been Dx with HSD. I have severe sensitivity to medications. Poor Healing , Fatigue and joint pain. Recently developed Dystonia. I feel like the Dx is confusing.

Why are soooooo many Doctors reluctant to dx HEDS ...and how come some have never even hard of it
