    I totally agree with you in the rendering. There are no gray shadows in the original image. Plus her eyes don’t even have the white in the corner like the original. Thats what makes her eyes look like a blob. I just love this series! 💚

      Hi Shonta. Thanks so much for watching, and for seeing things my way. 🤣. The rendering did not make me happy. But, I've moved on to better things. 😂. Hugs

    Hey Kim - First of all im hoping your feeling better ❤How very dissapointing ! When i first started diamond paiting nearly 5 yrs ago; I brought so many canvases from Meian and they were amazing ,drills , rendering etc Sad to see the quality go down hill ! hopefully round will be an improvement .

      Hi Maria. Thanks for your comment. The good news is that I'm starting to feel a bit better and my face is starting to get more movement. Yay! As for this store, yeah, my experience wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. Like a lot of AliExpress stores, the square drills weren't great. And then of course, I didn't love the shading. I won't be ordering from here again. Luckily I've found some other stores on AliExpress that I feel are better. 😊

    Hoping your round from this company is better! I agree with your comments on the rendering and the gapping. I'm glad you were able to persevere and complete it. Your money was spent and it would be hard to just abandon it. I love both your pens (I have a thing for pens). Thanks for another great video. Take good care. Hugs from me. Nance

      Hi Nance. Yeah, I'm looking forward to trying their round drill canvass, but I'll probably stay away from their squares. 😊. Hugs. ❤️

    Great video Kim and I agree with your comments on the rendering and the gapping etc and I look forward to see you do a round canvas from this company and compare the two. Take care.

      Hey Kerry. Yeah, I'm also very curious now to work on that round drill canvass and to see what experience I have. In general, I've had better experiences with round drills from AliExpress stores and so the same might apply here. ❤️

    Good job once again Kim .Lots of information as you invest so much time on a painting it’s disappointing when it doesn’t turn out quite as expected but still nice .

      Hi Linda. Yeah, I didn't hate working on this one. It was a bit of a mixed bag, although I did have to push myself at times to get through it. I probably won't order again, but I'm not sorry that I tried this store. Hugs. ❤️

    Have you heard of mica powder? I've seen it used to cover the gaps, and it works really well. You can use white powder on the white drills, since those are the most obvious.

      @myhappyplacewithkime1430  Год назад

      Hi Luna. I've heard of people doing that, but I don't intend to do anything with this canvass other than roll it back up and store it, so yeah, I won't go through that extra cost and effort. Thanks for the suggestion though. ❤️

    I think the gaping bugs me more than the rendering. I don’t know, maybe I’m weird lol but I’m definitely not a fan of gaping at all. Sending healing hugs and love. 🧡💜💛

      I'm with you! I don't like gapping either, but I do know that it's pretty standard with AliExpress stores. That's why I now only buy squares from two stores - Ever Moment and DAC. Dreamer Designs have okay squares, but sometimes they have gapping too. ❤️

    Kim, it's not just you. That's a bad rendering job. It's so disappointing when you are looking forward to a beautiful image emerging from your hard work and it just ends up clunky. I've thrown away canvases at that point but they were cheap and certainly not something I had invested in as much as you have here. I think you are being charitable. Bad drills, gapping and poor rendering make for a miserable experience. It really shouldn't happen. I am so sorry it happened to you.💜🥺💜

      Hi Syl. Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I agree. The square drills weren't great. But having said that, I'm not sure that most AliExpress stores give good squares. They all battle with their squares (except for Ever Moment). And the shading on her face wasn't great either. I did think that the canvass quality and the symbols were really good. So yeah, a mixed end result, but I won't be ordering squares again from this store. I need to work on my round drill canvass soon to see what I think of the rounds. ❤️

      You are really being a good sport, Kim, but maybe rounds are the answer. I've found that even plastic rounds can be very interesting in their own way. My first round had plastic drills and there were amazing nuances in color I've never seen since. It was a company called Vroot but I've not found another image I like there.
      I think gapping may be the most difficult problem to deal with. With my gapping rounds I am finding multiplacing very tedious. I have to smoosh the drills around after I place when I do large areas of color blocking. I'm stubbornly using the eight placer I just got from DAC because there is SO much black background to cover. I did try single placing but that just made me crazy and didn't look a whole lot better.
      On the bright side with my current WIP, when I get to the colors it is so worth the background struggle!💜🤗💜

    Lesson: stick with squares on darker series.

    • @myhappyplacewithkime1430
      @myhappyplacewithkime1430  Год назад +1

      That shouldn't necessarily be the guide. When a store has good quality squares, there is no need for that. With Ever Moment and Diamond Art Club I order primarily squares and their squares are so excellent that it doesn't matter what colour the drills or canvass is, the squares fit together so nicely with minimal to no gapping. These just weren't good quality squares. They were very average.

    It really is a bad rendering and the gaping when you brought it up wasn't good. I hope with the round it'll be better. Take care.

      Hi Denise. Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the shading on the face. And like many other AliExpress stores, the square drills weren't great. I won't be ordering from here again. Luckily I've found a few other AliExpress stores with what I think is a better product. ❤️
