He probably remembers the drops better than artists remember their lyrics, because he actually makes his music whereas the others sing lyrics written for them.
What do you think is harder? Remembering lyrics from 10 years ago or melodies? Don't hate on all those great singers who write their songs themselves. Try to remember 15 lyrics of your songs for 10 years and then show me.
Grimmy should do this to more songwriters! The singers he's interviewed so far aren't known to write their songs (except for Niall, but he struggled a bit with the old 1D lyrics because you know...)
Yay, it’s SO NICE in 2018 to actually see Calvin acknowledge his pre-"We Found Love" catalogue, especially “Acceptable In The ‘80s” in this clip. He always snubs every single he made pre-2011 in his DJ sets like it never existed. And the interviewers are always too busy kissing his ass to ever mention why he does it either. Him and Nick Grimshaw go way back and have a relationship, so I’m glad he played along with this game, even though he looks tired/pissed/annoyed at the beginning or maybe I’m reading too much into it. Thankfully he played along and we got some fun moments out of him. I just wish that damn mic moved out of the way! So we could see his face! Argh! Great clip still.
That would be no problem for him since Martijn has only released music since 2012 and he regularly plays older tracks. Calvins career was longer and that ways he has more tracks, so its harder. BUT Martijn making computerish sounds with his voice is one of the best things in the universe!
I think that the songs he has made in 2017 and 2018 are not that good, but the ones he made in 2016 and the years before are really good, I think that this is what you came for and how deep is your love are good songs, but the ones he made in 2014 are even better, summer, outside and blame are my favorite electronic songs ever.
As an OLD FAN from the I Created Disco days (I used to follow Calvin on MySpace in 2007) I am so HAPPY Nick referenced JAM TV. It's obvious that Calvin grew away from that era (Jam TV/MakeYour Own Fly Eyes/throwing chickens in the sea/being a clown/tall geek) and wants to distance himself from it. Calvin looked VISIBLY SOUR when Nick brought JAM TV back. Iol Like someone was about to get murdered if they didn't turn it off! So interesting how Calvin acts amnesiac to his old stuff. He even kept JAM TV going well into 2009 when he brought some Jam for Katy Perry to use in an old RUclips video at an outdoor event. So it was a schtick he had for a while. But I understand his evolution as he's still here and relevant and electro-pop-trend acts like Cobra Starship and LMFAO from that time are long gone.
I know this is an old comment, but I remember those days! I was trying to find some of those old MySpace videos. I remember one where he was talking about pharmacies, it was so funny. Plus all the posts about the best things to buy in M&S when he used to work there
LMAO IM DEAD XD. so funny, but a think is cheating that they said the name of the song before, they should just drope the sound , so caalvin can guess it

old calvin harris was sooo good. so many memories dancing to his tunes in the club 💕💕
sage s Summer, Under Control, Drinking From The Bottle, Thinking About You,Let’s Go, ❤️

My maw's from where he's wis born. Dumfries. (Pronounced; dum-freess)
His 'mum'
It's a rip off of a scottish accent
go scots
Proud to be Scottish :)
Zedd should do this
Definetly, some of his tracks (the good old ones like Clarity or Scorpion Move) will be very interesting to hear.
Imagine Madeon lol
I should do the dubstep intro of “break free”
I think this is only for people who have different drops. Sorry :/
i hope omg its gonna be interesting

I know right
The singers sing them like 20 times a year if they are on tour. Should be ingrained in their brain surely
and he writes most lyrics for his songs too
Grimmy should do this to more songwriters! The singers he's interviewed so far aren't known to write their songs (except for Niall, but he struggled a bit with the old 1D lyrics because you know...)
Skrillex gonna be fun
He oddly sounds like Jonah Hill.

So that's why I love Call my name by Cheryl so much! It all makes sense now.
same here. didn't even know
Calvin 's voice when he talks😍😍😍👌
Kohinoor Sonia you like the Scottish accent then?

actually, imagine you’re raving in an EDM festival and all of a sudden a funktronica track is played, how would you feel? Pretty pissed wouldn’t you?
I always thought that was just his face tbh
everything he made since 2017 isn't my type of music. but he definitely killed it till then. he was my fav artist :(
Novalight everything since 2011 isn't my type of music.
Funk Wav Bounces is great :/
Zain Khalid it's decent but generic
Not generic, since that was HIS style back in 2006.
Huwazan Wilder try since 2011
THE WE FOUND LOVE DROP WHEN HE RECREATED IT KILLED ME AHHAHAHHA
Calvin is such a babe.
I know right he so handsome
This is how I sound when I recreate the drops

What about Skrillex? xDD

Calvin in cringey and cute at the same time omd 😂😍

Jake S Mario5537 Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark
Jake S Mario5537 oh my days
My favorite dj ever.
Ricardo Vergara producer dude, producer
I don't think u ever seen him live at "djing"
Mine too!
KSHMR is way better tho
Alesso is better.
kashemiro nah because he is the most expensive dj in the world
"oof, the sidechain on datttttt"
It indeed has a top compression on it, sounds beautiful.
This is the only segment that keeps Radio 1 in my subscriptions list, honestly. The Diplo was awesome and hilarious, and this was brilliant too. More!
Calvin Harris WTF, when are you going to make great songs like Summer, Blame and Outside again?, My way was good, but we need more than that!
I hope you're joking

Dybala The Best one kiss is great
Come on one kiss is chill af
I didn't know he did Call My Name! No wonder it was a tune 😍
t YES! Helped me discover her!
1:33 - 5:30 i loved the interview with the bbc radio 1 microphone.
Loved this 😂😂😂
As a producer, Calvin Harris merely saying the word "Sidechain" made me grin in excitement at the mere reference to music production.
Hahah :D felt good that I know exactly what he's talking about
Thinking About You is his best song...so many good memories.
This video reminded me how good Calvin Harris is
4:38 the way he says seven reminds me of that video But steel is heavier than feathers.
Calvin Harris still makes fantastic music
Jack Attack 杰克 not as good though
Alex Mc - I feel like it's still really good it's just different styles because he's always adapting to popular sounds of the time
Owhh.. I love that Cheryl song. Used to be my jam back then
I've never heard him talk... he sounds like a robot. lol

"The sidechain on that" - If you know, you know
Yepp.
I’m confused af tell me what this mean lmfao
Basically just compresses/lowers the volume of a mixer bus dynamically to make room for the kick.
@@dowiee2694 least basic explanation ever
Daddy Mysterious Better explanation: when the kick (thumpy sounding bass drum) makes a noise, lower the volume of everything else.
"I'm not Alone" and "Awooga" are still my all time favorites from Calvin Harris
Vitor Oliveira I love awooga
Ommgggg the we found love drop 😂😂😂😂
I swear to God this is the first time I've ever heard Calvin Harris talk.. And his accent is🤤🤤🤤
Well he’s gorgeous
I see you from a lot of satellite TVs. Your voice is great. Thank you so much Kalvin Harris
Enjoyed this video actually
So cute with that beard, his voice, his face...MY KING IS SO PERFECT 😍💕
Lol... How was his beat drop when the song is we found a love
My favourite Calvin era would probably be the "I Created Disco" and the "Ready for The Weekend" era. I still love him though❤
His older songs are still so fucking good, changed so much
shouda picked more electronic tracks like Under Control.
Mewzyc Or Drinking from The Bottle
the tracklist sums up his career perfectly imo, 2 electronic tracks and 2 disco tracks

2:40 OMG I'm going to sample that.

Loved Jam TV. Especially when he was in a hotel with no jam but tried digestives with other condiments. Although I probably don’t remember it right.
I loved these vids with Calvin and Diplo
At the start Nick said that Selena didn’t remember ANY of her lyrics but she remembered most of them... YOU LIE
she didn't remember shit , she only remembered the barney one
I love the we found love part HAHAHA
jeeeesus Calvin is sooooo great
This was so funny to listen to on the bus last week... LMFAO 😂😭
His last album is dope !!
Haha this guess your drop is so good so funny! Very insightful how a producer DJ knows why a banger IS a banger. Cause... it's... a banger!
That hopeless place beat was fucking hilarious 😂😂😂😂
producers end up listening to their songs so many times that its kinda hard for them to forget
He is so gorgeous
I love you Calvin Harris 😘
If you asked it for Skrillex, i bet he'll be confused with his sick dubstep 😂
Lol 😂
Calvin is funny and beautiful at the same time 😍😍😍
Oh come on, how can someone say Calvin isn't having fun? I mean 2:36 sounds like fun! 😁
Course he can remember grafting away in the studio listening to it over and over again till he's got it crisp
you should invite Complextro and American Dubstep producers to play this. It'll be a fun watch.

Rocking that subtle scot accent yes
The reason they don't know the lyrics to their songs is because they didn't write them
Did he liked the sidechain or??
Bam bam come on! I died at that moment😂

More of this plz
Just perfect 😆 Please do one with David Guetta
He uses ghost producers wouldn't be able to remember them
I didn't think it would be that funny but the moment he started humming Acceptable in the 80s I lost it
WE FOUND LOVE WAS EVEN BETTER
even i can do this, his drops are iconically catchy
He has a fun when grimmy play Call my name
3:12 the sidechain on that 😂
he's sitting there like ''i miss being a good dj and being that popular''
This is so fucking hilarious
lol he's like "bruh i work hard at this and yall got me on here playin games."
