He was banned from FIDE and stripped of his GM title. Today March 28, 2024 he passed away. He was caught cheating with a smartphone in a toilet 2019.
Harsh treatment for a cheater. RIP.

He looked very gaunt and frail here. I would have said he looked at least 72. Maybe he had cancer or some other horrible disease, very very brave to be so positive towards the end if so.
