Super natural defense at level 7 is incredibly versatile. While a lot of spells do force saving throws, there are a lot of creatures that have innate abilities or passive saves that are written into their actions. This can include saves vs most poisonous creatures, grapple effects written into monsters attack blocks with their given DCs to break that grapple, and potentially even escaping gullets of creatures that have swallowed you. This would extend to breath weapons and aura effects that force throws too. The 1d6 would also apply to any concentration check your prey forces you to make caused by damage, since it’s forcing you to make that constitution save.
This is the “official” Witcher, but the more accurate Witcher is the Blood Hunter created by Matt Mercer (it’s on DnDBeyond as Critical Role content). Thanks for watching!
Oh man this subclass synergizes so well with the new ranger variant options. I think this might be my favourite alongside the swarmkeeper with the new optional features.
Playing a monster slayer now. I use hunter sense on things I may or may not fight later just so I have that information later. Really good for scouting potential enemies
Slayers prey can be used any number of times, you just can't have it active on multiple creatures at once, and the effect ends if you rest. That actually means you could start your turn with it active on a creature, attack and kill the creature, then use it on another creature and hit them with your second attack
To be fair, we mentioned that Circle of Dreams was one of the most difficult to rate because it is so unique. If you enjoy it and have fun with it, that is all that matters in the end! Thanks for watching!
I think Monster Slayer Ranger is a pretty good starting point. Use a whip as your main weapon and hand axes as secondary weapons (to throw). You can take whatever fighting style suits you, but I’d lean towards dueling or defense. If you get a feat or take variant human, tough increases your HP each level or mobile helps you stay in the fray a bit more and maneuver the battlefield. Another good feat option is mage slayer which helps you just ruin casters. Take Undead as your favored enemy and you’re off to a great start! Thanks for watching!
I really want to play a ranger but the min maxer in me hates the amount of rubbish features they get. I hope they publish the alternative class features in tasha's cauldron. Monster slayer does seem very interesting though, made a researcher character that has this with 3 levels of scout rogue. Would spend his time studying creatures. Uses a bow as he is a wood elf. 11 skills, 5 expertise. He'd have a journal where he made a note of every monster strengths and weaknesses along with a little drawing.
Sorry! I grew up in the north where everyone talked super fast and Alex does local sports broadcasting, so we can get a bit quick. We are going to try to slow down and be more conscious of it in the future, but as we adjust, you can always watch the videos at .75x speed to slow us down a bit. Thanks for watching!

This is then Witcher Subclass and I love it. Take the UA Poisoner feat and you’ll be a beast.

I love the ranger. That's all. Hate on me if you like.
Appreciate the series....even though you guys hate on my Circle of Dreams Druid

URGE TV I’m messing with you guys. While you did give it just a measly couple of flumpfs, I don’t disagree with your points. Keep up the good work
I love your videos. You guys have so much fun and have great energy.
Your videos are amazing, they always help me to create new characters !
How well does a monster hunter slayer mix with say, a blood hunter?
Love the series guys thanks!
Was just talking about this subclass earlier and this pops up in my suggested videos. Lol!
I feel like this plus battle master would be awesome, especially when you have the battle master feature: know your enemy.
Hey how would you guys make Simon Belmont from Castlevania?

im playing my character as a "rambo" type...
That sounds AWESOME!
Mind if I steal this and put it on a Gloom Stalker?
So.... I love Aragorn but 5e rangers seem to be lack luster. Xgte has fixed a lot of issues though. Sounds like fun!
Mage Slayer feat is needed. Lol
Magic BAD!! ......bash bash bash
I will say Echo Knight seems like it would pair nicely with this class.
Dude, slow down your talking, both of you. Love the videos though

You can also reduce the video speed
