@@silviyandyuzev6870 just keep trying! I took 15 minutes just trying to get my tools "right" (shape, placement, length, etc), and after that it took me 15 minutes just applying tension and fiddling with the pins... i don't know exactly what i did, but i wiggled it for a while and it unlocked :')
thanks, my bike has this lock that has a chain you can lock into the side of it as well. but didn't realise it locked the wheel too and couldn't figure out how to get the key out once I put the chain in lol. Thanks now I see how it works.
Pro tip! The easiest way to open these is to force them open by beating the handle open with a hammer. It took me 3-4 light hits to open mine. Bear in mind this does destroy the lock and you will need to replace it. Do this at your own risk and keep it in mind when shopping for bike locks.
If you drill the brass pins inside with a drill bit it is supper fast. The newer axe locks have the steel pins so harder to drill. I would think a wafer jiggling pick would work faster and easier then a hook pick. Perhaps even a city rake or worm pick.
Axa locks are fine for short-term use (there's a reason they're referred to as 'cafe locks') *provided* you use the chain / cable that plugs into the hole in the top of the lock to secure the bicycle to a solid object, preventing someone from carrying the bike away and throwing it into a van. If they somehow manage to cut through the cable, they're still unable to ride the bike away because of the spoke lock. Not foolproof (what is?) but will defeat 90% of bicycle thieves.
Nice idea for a lock, just a shame it's a wafer lock!!! I think by the sound of the plastic it would be easily broken to gain entry( not that it's needed) Great work as I usual👍🔓😘😘
i have an AXA lock too, i was trying to do same as you but looks like the key hole does not allow to insert a tension tool...in your case the tension tool fits very good but in my case it almost does not fit, i can't do a proper tension, or its hard to insert at the same time a tension tool and the picking tool....how do yo deal with that?? in case that helps, in the lock there is written "AXA Rock".
You should try different size and type of wrenches. Also consider using two tensioners so you can free one side at a time. But I don't know how the keyway looks like.
How to remove the AXA lock without the keyhole to stick your key in? I have my keys but I dont know where is the keyhole.. now I cant use my bike which I just bought the other day😢
The frame lock I have as another additional wire lock that attaches to it. So with these two lock systems, I figure my bike is pretty safe for going into stores and leaving for a day in a busy area.
Hello, I have a similar locker on my bike with the chain attached on the locker, but the key is not working anymore (It barely enters into the locker like if was a different key). I tried WD-40 but still not open. Feels like the key was not the correct one, or someone damaged the locker by trying to open it or something. Nobody wants to break the chain or open in because I have the bike parked on the street. Do you have an idea how to solve it?
First, have a lock with that you can secure the bicycle on a fixed object. If it can be carried away the best lock is useless. Then have a lock that cannot be easily cut. I prefer something like that www.abus.com/ger/Sicherheit-Unterwegs/Fahrradsicherheit/Fahrradschloesser/Buegelschloesser/GRANIT-X-Plus-540 it can be attached easily in the frame of your bike. I also like that it's a disk detainer locking mechanism, hence no springs are involved what makes it robust against wear-out and humidity and freeze. It's also much harder to pick. The keyway cover is also very helpful to prevent the lock getting dirty.
Cannot really remember. But it's a simple wafer lock and not very precise. So start with heavier tension and when you feel that you cannot set the wafers then release a bit.
Hi everyone can a ABUS or AXA lock similar to this be damaged if not lock picked correctly etc, does anyone know please. Great video thankyou very much.
@@Potti314 some of the newer models require that you put pressure on the lever in order to tension the core. The shackle will lock the core in place when there is no pressure applied. So on a bike you have to have one hand on the other side of the bike to tension the shackle, which makes it harder to tension and rake the lock.
+Potti314 so if i'll do it with a half diamond, it'll work, and go as fast (with practise) as you can do it? the only reason why i ask, is because that i've lost my key to my bicycle wheel lock, and it's the 3'rd time it happens. so i thought that i'd be a good idea to know how to lockpick it, so that i can open it next time it happens (2 of the times, my keys got stolen).
+Marc Knudsen Half diamond is fine I guess. Actually a snow man or a "8" pick is most appropriate to pick such locks. The tolerances are not that tight and oversetting is not really an issue. That's why a raking type approach with the above mentioned picks will work very often. Keep in mind that the place where the lock is attached may disturb a comfortable access in contrast to the desk situation.
Hi Potti, have you tried the Axa Defender? It has a restrictive slider core, and while it's been around for more than 10 years (i think), I haven't seen someone pick it on youtube yet. I can send you a used one if you like. Best regards, E.

@@Lortagreb OK, now I got you. The problem with this lock is not that it can be picked (easily) but that it still allows a thieve to carry away your bike. Picking and raking is not at all a common method to steal or break into something. Criminals don't do that - too unreliable and time-consuming. Personally I would not use these spoke-blocking locks. First, if a thieve is not aware of it and thinks the bike is unlocked, he/she will bend some spokes when trying to drive away. Second, professional thieves will be able to easily carry it to their truck. I use an u-shaped lock from hardened steel and always secure my bike to a fixed object (traffic sign post, etc.). Sure, an angle grinder will cut it through, but it makes noise and takes a while and other methods of breaking it will fail.
@@Potti314 I was wondering if a lock like this is still good as a back up lock, just to keep the wheel from being removed while having a d lock for the front [attaching it to the frame ofc]. Otherwise I'm off to go buy a chain lock.
