  • Introduction:
Dr. Barrett introduces the WIDEX SmartRIC hearing aids, a high-performance hearing device designed for users with mild hearing loss. He shares his personal experience using the device and highlights its advanced features, including its compact design, directional sensitivity, PureSound technology, and tinnitus management programs.
    Key Points:
    Compact Charging Case:
Dr. Barrett begins by showcasing the WIDEX SmartRIC’s charging case, noting that it’s the smallest case on the market, making it ideal for travel. The case holds multiple charges, offering convenience for users on the go.
    Comfortable and Discreet Fit:
Dr. Barrett demonstrates how the hearing aids fit properly on his ears, providing tips on how to insert them comfortably. The discreet design ensures that the devices are barely noticeable from different angles, making them a great option for people who want a subtle appearance.
Directional Sensitivity for Better Hearing in Noise:
The unique shape of the WIDEX SmartRIC hearing aid enhances directional sensitivity, allowing users to focus on speech in noisy environments like restaurants. This feature works almost like "blinders" for the ears, helping users hear what they are looking at more clearly.
    PureSound Programming for Natural Sound:
Dr. Barrett highlights the PureSound feature, which reduces signal processing delay for a cleaner, more natural sound experience. He mentions that this feature is best suited for users with mild hearing loss, as it offers a bright and natural sound quality.
    Tinnitus Management:
WIDEX SmartRIC also includes customizable tinnitus management programs, allowing users to select sounds, tempos, and tones to help manage tinnitus. The built-in sound therapy can be used without relying on a smartphone or Bluetooth connection, making it a battery-efficient solution.
    Customizable Fractal Tones:
The fractal tones in the tinnitus program can be tailored to individual preferences, with options for melody, tempo, and pitch. Dr. Barrett finds these tones very relaxing and effective for long-term use.
    Closing:
Dr. Barrett concludes by praising the WIDEX SmartRIC for its innovative features, including the superior directional sensitivity, PureSound programming, and the customizable tinnitus management system. He recommends it for anyone with mild hearing loss or tinnitus who is looking for a high-quality hearing aid.

As a totally blind user, Widex have always offered the most unprocessed, cleanest pure sound which I really really appreciate. That said,it comes at a cost. Their feedback management system can be finnicky, especially if using vented tips. The 0delay pure sound only allows for certain band adjustment. Also,I really would have liked to see some waterproofing on these as that's one of the things that's seriously putting me off spending so much money on these. The IP rating of Phonak in my opinion should be the standard everyone aims for now, although the sound quality of Widex is next to none.

@ednunpourtahmasbi605 glad you're enjoying the Widex sound! Agreed about the water resistance, however

My only issue with these charger cases is that they have trouble fitting custom ear molds. Phonak is guilty of this as well. In a year I will be getting a new set and I use custom molds. They need to make the well bigger. Otherwise great video. I subscribed.

@bionicwolf3342 thanks for watching! And I agree, sometimes the chargers are too small for the custom ear molds. ReSound actually does a pretty good job with this -- they have a fairly large space in the charger to accommodate ear molds
