Thank you for pointing this out. I injured my back doing single arm swings about 7 months ago and I'm still dealing with issues from that.

yep, i'm guilty of losing shape on single arm swings so will take your advice and stop doing them

I pulled a back muscle twice before I canned 1 arm swings, and I don't miss them...

Glad I saw this before starting my second attempt at the 10,000 Swing Challenge. I like the Kettlebell Sport style of alternating swing, but my hips and groin tighten up when I do a lot of them. My initial attempt at the challenge was cut short due to me working with a weight that was too heavy... I was new, and ordered a heavy bell at the beginning of loc:kdown because I thought my strength in other areas would translate over to Kettlebells.

I tried single-hand swings recently. I did not go well. In the future I will stick to two-handed swings.

Thanks for the pointer. I have been doing EMAM swings with KB’s and I switch between 1 and 2 arms. 1 arm always feels like it is on another plane. Appreciate the words of caution. The down motion on snatches is the hardest phase for me. Do you advise swinging down or doing a two part movement: top position to shoulder, and then shoulder to bottom position?

I don't remember if Dan mentioned it or someone else who knows kettlebell, but I have written in my notes "unless you are going for a certification which requires a drop from there and x reps in x time, or girevoy sport, safer to do two part down movements, you still get the same benefits."

Thanks, Ignacio. Old guy here, and I like to play it safe. Injurious training is worse than no training at all.

“Many trainees don’t do them well”. That is a good argument against most of the exercise and movements, deadlifts, squats, bench presses, even pull-ups... you name it. I think more sensible approach would be to learn the movement and do it correctly 🤔 .
