Depends what kid of DJing you're after. If you mean actual like producing and DJing then for sure you can try and learn some music stuff. But if you want to just go straight in to doing shows with other peoples music you can go in blind. All you need is a Camelot wheel and VirtualDJ. My father went into radio at 17 and then did discos for 20 years with no actual knowledge of Music Theory. The main thing to remember is you're still an entertainer at the end of the day so as long as there's good music and a good show that's all that matters!
As a DJ of 17 years most important thing I can say is learn to beat match by ear. So if you can train yourself to know what your listening for if you use auto sync and it doesn't work properly for what ever reason,you know how to adjust it so it sounds correct. Second most important thing is mixing in key, analyze EVERYTHING that comes into your software it'll give you all the necessary information needed. Either the same key or one above or below. I recommend trying virtual DJ as it is free and chocked full of features.
The remix was absolutely stunning, but I kept waiting for the lyrics...and....boom! There they were! This is a completely amazing remix and I'm totally shocked that it's only at 261 hits right now. It's remixes like THIS that deserve a 7-digit hit count! I'll likely spend many hours this summer listening to this kick ass beat. Thanks again AGRS and I'll speak for the rest of the future listeners...MORE! MORE!! MORE!!!
