They had a security guard at the school, and they had school cameras, but we only found out today that they had cameras. The shooter was on camera. Did anyone see the film from the camera of the shooter. No? The media did not even tell us about the cameras uintil today. Today, they tell us that there were cameras, but they had a 20 minute delay on it, so when thepolice thought he was still in the building at 2:52 p.m. seeing him on the camera going from the third to the second floor, he was not doing that. At 2:52 p.m. he was down at Walmart's buying a drink. He left the buliding at 2:28 p.m. He arrived and started shooting at 2:21 p.m , which means he was able to shoot for 7 minutes and run up and down the stairs between floors. . The security guard that was present we learn today was fired because he did not go to help. He stayed away from the fray. The police chief called it a dereliction of duty and he was fired, or forced to resign. The FBI dropped the ball, even though they received two tips, both giving his name, and the second one giving his location, as well as informing the police of his arsenal of guns, and telling the FBI that he was threatening to shoot up a school. They said they followed none of their protocols and did not do anything at all about it. They called it an "error", a "failure". Is that what you would call it? We do not know if the doors of the school are locked while class is in session. The media has not told us that yet. In other words, the school took very few security measures. If they locked the doors during class, if the school put buzzers on the doors, if they had cameras without a 20 minute delay and a few more security guards for the 45,000 students they had there, and if the FBI did their job, instead of fighting Russian windmills, this would not have happened. There is another thing no one, including the media is telling us. They are not telling us about the JROTC program, and how Cruz became "obsessed" with guns. It just so happens that the JROTC program, which invites all high school students, ages 14-18, into the program, and in this program, guns are given to them, including AR-15's with bump stocks and they shoot these guns INSIDE THE SCHOOL on targets placed on Kevlar blankets to absorb the shot. That is how Cruz became "obsessed" with guns. The school gave him guns to shoot in the JROTC program. How come you aren't being told that - that guns are being given to little "children" as David Hogg called himself and his fellow classmates. Do you notice that none of the students think there should be "gun control" inside the school and no one wants to get rid of the JROTC program. They only want gun control for adults. For the children in the JROTC program, not a peep is complained about, even though that program is what caused Cruz to become "obsessed" with guns. Cruz liked the AR-15 he was shooting in the school so much, he went out and bought one for himself in Feb. 2017. It is the JROTC program. This is NOT a military school. It is a local high school. The students go into the program and shoot guns inside the school at targets put on Kevlar blankets. This tells me they are using real bullets. As you clearly see from thje video, they are shooting semiautomatic rifles (AR-15's) with bump stocks on them. The students admitted to the program are as young as the sophomore class (15 years old). I know this because the year before Cruz was expelled, the Snead son was in the program with him. Snead's son was a junior when the shooting happened, which means he was a sophomore when he was in the JROTC program with Cruz.. Notice that they are saying nothing about this program in their mission to get "gun control".

While everyone in the school knew Cruz was violent and mentally unstable, this did not stop the school and the military from inviting him into the program to shoot AR-15's. If they want "gun control", why don't the students start in their own backyard. There MUST BE a way without taking away the right to protect yourself. It is my choice not to carry, or own, a gun. But I do see the importance of securing our children at schools, our families at theaters, shopping malls, etc.
I worked at a public place and we had security.
I now have a granddaughter attending public school and I fear for her safety every single day, and in more ways than just guns - but that is a huge part of my fear since there seems to be a huge epidemic.
There has to be a better system in this country or else we are no better than the ppl who suffer in the middle East at the hands if terrorists, or in Chicago and New York at the hands of gangs.
But with regards to the 2nd amendment, While my heart does bleed for these poor kids & the families of the deceased, and I can understand their frustration and gun hate from this ordeal, there are still facts...
More people have died in Airplanes this year than in gun deaths. Therefore, by the logic of those who want to take away the 2nd amendment, we should outlaw airplanes.
Next we'll move to trains.. deaths there too.
Then cars.
These things have all been used as weapons to kill ppl.
They also have huge numbers of accidental deaths and suicides.
And, not that it matters, but full disclosure.. I do not own a gun nor do I want to. But that is MY CHOICE. I know many who do own guns, it took years to get through the process. Therefore, those who are anti-2nd amendment have just not done their homework on what it takes to legally have a gun/permit.
They are basing their OPINION on (1) MSM & group mentality; and (2) the acts of (street/gang) violence caused by those who obtained guns illegally - not through 2nd amendment process, and (3) unbearable pain suffered at the hands of a mentally disturbed individual.
Do they truly believe that if the laws were changed it would stop the criminals or deranged from getting a gun??
There can never ever be an acceptable answer to ease these tragedies.
But logically, as stated above, you cannot strip the right to PROTECT yourself because of a few bad ppl. There is no difference between what is being suggested by these children as it would be to say outlaw homosexuality because a few nutcases committed serial murders, or to outlaw the Catholic Church because many priests have raped hundreds of children.
In the end, you can't let pain and anger dictate logic.

I see people saying gun control is the only answer it could help keep guns away from mentally I'll but I can assure you it is much easier to get a gun in the streets than a gun store. Gun laws do not work, you want an example look at Puerto Rico that has very strict gun laws where you are only allowed 2 guns and 50 bullets and if you lose a bullet you have to report it. (You can have target practice at a range with another license) and the tiny island has more gun crime than almost any state. And after hurricane Maria i would have done anything to legally own a gun to defend my family from all the robbery's there was near my house.

There should be an armed security presence at schools. 2 or 3 officers. They can be posted in different areas of school. New spot everyday. They can talk through radio ear piece. Teachers could also text message them if there's active shooter in their location. They should only intervene when things get out of hand. Don't want schools to feel like a totalitarian police state but at the same time they should be able to act if an attack like that happens to limit the amount of deaths and to put a stop to the shooter within the first 2 minutes of them opening fire. It would be an easy job for them most of the time since attacks are rare. They can kick back and look at all the jail bait teen girls. Too expensive? The government spends loads of money on a lot less important things. If national security of young people isnt important than what is?
It took me 2 minutes to think and type this and yet elected officials have to have big meetings and talk for hours. Useless people. Its simple just like this guy says.

I don't know whats more sad to me. The fact that this father had to bury his child, or the panel of straight faces while he's talking about her. I as a father of daughters found this to be extremely moving and got a little teared up. This man is THE strongest person in the country to stand and talk about what we need for our country. Guns have never been the issue, in more gun populous regions there is less gun violence. Lets stop pushing personal agendas and get some metal detectors and more police in all schools in America. Arm the teachers, who better to defend our youth than the people that care for them! All American children are my children and I'll die standing for any of them!

You know I have been very upset that nobody has yet blamed the guy that shot those kids. Everywhere on the news it's about the guns. I'm a gun owner my self and I really liked the way he put it. He didn't attack a brainless object that killed his daughter or guns but made a very awesome point that we just need better security at our schools. At least he has a brain. I'm sorry for your loss and I'm behind you 100%. Let's protect our kids.
