A movie trilogy called "Chakushin Ari" (Later remade into a crappy american version dubbed "One Missed Call" in 2006) had a plot where if you were called by a ghost named Mimiko, a eerie ringtone is played and when answered you would hear how you were going to die while leaving the time you were set to die in the call history. Well, it turns out the origin of the ringtone was from a old television show air for kids, in which it was the last thing Mimiko heard before her death. The initial ringtone itself was found by a stuffed bear that was held to Mimiko's sister that was doing the mass killings through the cell phones. The melody is the same, but instead sung by children-- much like the Killer Instinct theme being sung during the idle theme. In fact, if my ears are correct...They both happen to be in the same frequency and potentially the same key as the ringtone found in the Japanese version of Chakushin Ari's ringtone. I recommend looking those up. I might even hit up Mick Gordon on twitter later to see if he did this intentionally, or if this happened to be a coincidence. Sorry, i just happen to love Japanese Horror. And i geeked out when i found out that Hisako was coming out. So that is why i had to drop Sadira (who i was Top 200 in the world in before the ranked stats got reset) for Hisako. And so far, she is Zangeif, Ken, and Haku-men (from Blazblue) mixed together. and i LOVE it.
Honestly, it made me think of Hisako and Spinal skipping hand-in-hand through a field of flowers, pushing each other on a swing-set, enjoying a picnic lunch, and generally being a lovely couple. Then Hisako finds out Spinal stole her prized doll, and the music picks back up again as she starts chasing him around. I'm weird like that.
That Idle theme gets to me bro. It's like Hisako is remembering the beauty and happiness of her life, happy memories before her village was slaughtered. Poor Hisako :(
Her village was not slaughtered. She saved it. When the enemy soldiers killed her family, she took up her father's weapon and fought back. Though she was killed, the villagers were inspired to fight as well and save the village. A shrine was built to honor her as a hero. When Ultratech robed the graves of those who fell in battle she rose up to seek vengeance.
killer instict themes are by far the best fighting game themes ive ever heard. and this one is perhapse my favorite. wonder if this game is as cool to play as it is to just watch and bask in.
Killer Instinct is my favorite fighting game. Every character is different from every other character, the move sets aren't overly complicated but can be strung together in ways as simple or complicated as you want them to be. The thing that really sets KI apart from other fighting games though is the ability to play mind games. You can get your opponent to do all kinds of things, make them think they are winning, then all of the sudden your plan comes together with a well timed counter breaker and you pull off a combo for 75% of their health bar. Or you can have them so afraid to press a button that they hardly fight back at all. Every fighting game has this to some extent, but KI takes it up to 11. Not to mention the amazing visuals and music and the over the top hype that can be generated from having a close match or pulling off an insane combo. I think of it kind of like this. If Tekken is an opera, then Street fighter is a rock concert, Mortal Kombat is a laser light show pop concert, and KI is a death metal rave with actual demons as the band.
John Henry no fighting game pumps your adrenaline like killer instinct. so fast and flashy, the feeling of performing an ultra is worth it. Best fighting games ever made. i can put a stamp on it.
I've played every Tekken game (except for the ports and all that) and as much as I cherish them with all of my heart, they don't get me as hyped as KI does. There are no clone characters (even though Jago and Shadow Jago are a thing, their moveset and strategies are very different), the stage and music change according to what's going on in the fight and the transitions of these are smooth as butter and the pace of the fight itself is much more responsive and speedier than Tekken's. I LOVE it.

Mister Torgue Flexington Not a problem! I know the feeling of not enough space for so many damn systems! I mostly main Spinal, with Fulgore, Riptor Orchid as my backup! Aria, Hisako, Sadira and Thunder are ones I love to use as well! The only character I really don't play is TJ Combo and that's only because of his up-down special which is very sensitive to inputs and i often mess up because of it. Sabrewulf is a great character, but Riptor is mah girl :p I'm play very dirty when playing as Spinal, Orchid and Riptor xD
