Yeah, funny, I painted two bodies - both with the metallic blue from Pactra. One had silver behind and this one with Black. The silver backed one is much lighter
Looks FANTASTIC Rich! glad to hear Jason sent you you tires. Cool to see my two favorite channels on RUclips working together. Looking forward to seeing the running video, and review!
Great Video, a really nice looking car. I'm looking forward to your driving video, and how the tires will work. I appreciate that both of my favourite RUclips guys working together. Go ahead guys and do a race against each other.
Any suggestions for carpet tires? I see guys at my track running slicks and "Dirtwebs?" Also I dont really know what shorty packs to go with. Would appreciate the help!
I just got a b64d and the guy i bought it from had it setup for carpet what tires and wheels should i buy for rough dirt track? and any other mods for carpet to rough dirt?
Trying to order the Reedy 5300 battery but it looks like they have discontinued it. So what battery do you recommend? Thank you so much for making these great videos Rich!!👍
Like I said, the rear has 3 additional segments. Most other screws shouldn't need to be removed unless you're doing a full rebuild. even then, I have Xacto'd the hole before on other rigs. the sheets are about $10
I'm new to racing, I have an LCG slash I think Ill try racing but buggy racing seems to appeal to me more. Would this work as a good buggy? Ill probably do stock racing at my local track. Is 2wd 1/10 a good place to start? Or is 4wd 1/8 better? 1/8 is pretty expensive...
Thanks for the info! Some people are saying that they prefer the laydown tranny for dirt racing and end up switching over in the long run. Have you had any dislikes with the stand up tranny?
I like the stand up. I hear the laydown can be a bit twitchy and unpredictable in corners. I'm running 17.5t right now and just running laps.....I'm not a big 2wd guy though
I'll be getting one of these cars pretty soon, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which Reedy motor + ESC to put in (for racing). I was thinking about the M3 8.5T motor + 1000z ESC, would that work?
I think the minimum turns for the 800z is 10.5T and for the 1000z its 7.5T and if you want to go lower than that you need a 410r. I don't race yet or know a lot about it but I think M3 8.5T and 1000z esc would be great for mod? racing.
You would be fine with the 1000z. The 410r has been discontinued pending a new model (I believe) The new 410r version would give you the potential to run faster mod motors in the future though....
Mod racing is pretty friendly and a bit tougher to tune (all that power). Stock racing is a true game, and there's nothing stock about stock racing. Some people will spend $1,000's to save grams
Over the course of the last year of racing I replaced my wing once on my 2wd buggy. And it only needed replaced because I switched wing mounts from pins to screws . If you don't crash wings last a long time. It just takes practice.
No Spencer Rivkin here, just been racing rc cars for 25+ years. Most people approach going fast the wrong way. They try to go all out and don't think about what they're doing. If you focus on taking the right lines and not crashing, the speed will come. Then you can learn where you can push to make up time.
Racing is 90% driver and 10% car usually. I'd pull the manual and set that buggy up to box stock 100% unless you can get a set up sheet for your track with that buggy. It will give you a chance to check everything and see how it's put together as well.
@TheRCNetwork I bought it used, and it has several aftermarket aluminum parts, I don't know who set it up, I got it from a young kid on Facebook. But it appears that someone has it set up well so well see. I bought it as a roller, so I'm waiting for a speed controller, I bought a hobbywing pro elite, and I'm still deciding on a motor, I'm thinking about a surpass V6 lite.
i like the blue body, using black as a undercoat did a nice job of adding depth
Yeah, funny, I painted two bodies - both with the metallic blue from Pactra. One had silver behind and this one with Black. The silver backed one is much lighter
Very enjoyable look-over, thank you. It looks super❗
Thanks buddy!
Looks FANTASTIC Rich!
glad to hear Jason sent you you tires. Cool to see my two favorite channels on RUclips working together.
Looking forward to seeing the running video, and review!
Nice! Stay tuned!
trim the rubber rings on the inside and outside off. they worked great at OCRC for me on my TLR 3.0. The harder you drive them the faster you get.
Yep, plan to, Scott. Jason recommended that
The RCNetwork the rear tires are dialed right away. Takes a little while to get the fronts to hook up but when they do they have tons of stearing.
Great Video, a really nice looking car. I'm looking forward to your driving video, and how the tires will work. I appreciate that both of my favourite RUclips guys working together. Go ahead guys and do a race against each other.
Nice! Jason is cool people! I have several RawSpeed videos coming out soon! stay tuned!
It looks super good
Thanks SS. Great build overall!
Color looks great!
Thanks Vd43!
Awesome video!
Thanks Evan!
looking good Rich. looking forward to a track from this one.
Thanks 2cwik!
sure thing.
AWSEOME car hopefully you'll win some races with this one
We will see......Thanks for the great comments and for watching!
Can't wait to see how rawspeed does in the future looks like they have some potential to grow and have good products and hopefully they release more.
Me too. I have a full length video on the RawSpeed tires coming out on Thursday. Stay tuned! I do like what I see so far
Awesome Rich ! Someone else who likes metallic blue paint jobs :). My B6D is on it's way from A Main, should be here next Monday !
Nice! It's a great build!
Those tires are really good. I run them as well at OCRC.
Yep, love them RawSpeed's!
what brand of wheel are those?
Miss your presence on RUclips hope to see you soon
if you're colorblind there are these glasses by a company called enchroma that can make certain colors actually visible
Yeah, I saw those.....but they recommended wearing them for 60 days to see results, plus they're only sunglasses from what I could tell and $400+
If you had backed that paint with white or silver it would look more like the color of the anodizing.
You'll see that in future episode...stay tuned!
great information
Thanks for watching, Paul!
Any suggestions for carpet tires? I see guys at my track running slicks and "Dirtwebs?" Also I dont really know what shorty packs to go with. Would appreciate the help!
I have never ran on a carpet track, the front's def look different....As for batteries, check out the Gensace packs as www.hobbybatteryz.com
sooooo nice!!!
Thanks for watching, SCRC!
can you do a show on how you set up your speed control for the track
Nice car bro!
Thanks Pogi!
I just got a b64d and the guy i bought it from had it setup for carpet what tires and wheels should i buy for rough dirt track? and any other mods for carpet to rough dirt?
What is the battery? Also I'd love to get this buggy and I probably will thanks to you!
The B6 takes a shorty pack ideally. I'm running this: amzn.to/2uqZEXx
Trying to order the Reedy 5300 battery but it looks like they have discontinued it. So what battery do you recommend? Thank you so much for making these great videos Rich!!👍
hello I am wondering what would be a good first time buggy kit and a decent setup for it. thanks!
It really depends on the track you'll run it on. The manual set up is pretty decent from what I hear
+The RCNetwork ok thanks!
Raptor RC if you have the B6d put yokomo green springs on the rear shocks.
How does the weight compare to the B5M lite? thanks rich
I'm not sure of the B5M lite weight, but most guys are getting this down to 1500 grams pretty easily
Have you reviewed the AE rc8be/e or the LOSI 8ight 4.0/e?
Here's my handy playlist on the RC8B3e: ruclips.net/p/PL5_p3gwitPIn3NR29eI9cxwxx0sgpB5Q8
I have not reviewed the TLR
And how you become the screws out if you habe the chassi protekter
Like I said, the rear has 3 additional segments. Most other screws shouldn't need to be removed unless you're doing a full rebuild. even then, I have Xacto'd the hole before on other rigs. the sheets are about $10
What song is that ? lol just curious
It's called Fresh Start on SoundCloud
I own a 10 yr old rc10 short course truck with the castle rc esc and motor
Nice!
Thanks , she runs up to 120+ that's if she doesn't eat a idler gear
Thats fast!
How's the car running now and have you put any mods on the car?
The B6d runs great! I've had it out twice now....she's a driver! No mods, besides a carbon fiber battery strap from Schelle!
there no threads in the parts, why? can't figure it out
Not sure what you're trying to say....
The B6d is a great buggy, especially on the budget. 1/8th scale is much more expensive, plus 2wd will teach you more about how to drive and set up
Thanks for the info! Some people are saying that they prefer the laydown tranny for dirt racing and end up switching over in the long run. Have you had any dislikes with the stand up tranny?
I like the stand up. I hear the laydown can be a bit twitchy and unpredictable in corners. I'm running 17.5t right now and just running laps.....I'm not a big 2wd guy though
what size tires did you buy? i can't find the specs for it
I always put links in my video descriptions....which have specs
Absolutely beautiful car.
Thanks VF!
I'll be getting one of these cars pretty soon, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which Reedy motor + ESC to put in (for racing). I was thinking about the M3 8.5T motor + 1000z ESC, would that work?

Yeah, the minimum for 800Z is 10.5, but the max for the 1000Z is 8.5. I was worried that the 1000Z would be overkill for the 8.5 motor...
You would be fine with the 1000z. The 410r has been discontinued pending a new model (I believe) The new 410r version would give you the potential to run faster mod motors in the future though....
I'm still deciding whether to go with stock or mod racing... there are a lot of different opinions out there
Mod racing is pretty friendly and a bit tougher to tune (all that power). Stock racing is a true game, and there's nothing stock about stock racing. Some people will spend $1,000's to save grams
why is almost nobody painting there wing?
The wings go fast in these 1/10th buggies.....They're typically thin and take a ton of abuse
Over the course of the last year of racing I replaced my wing once on my 2wd buggy. And it only needed replaced because I switched wing mounts from pins to screws . If you don't crash wings last a long time. It just takes practice.
Wow.....You're screen name should read "Spencer Rivkin" lol Yeah, I don't see wings lasting, especially learning a new buggy, new track, etc
No Spencer Rivkin here, just been racing rc cars for 25+ years. Most people approach going fast the wrong way. They try to go all out and don't think about what they're doing. If you focus on taking the right lines and not crashing, the speed will come. Then you can learn where you can push to make up time.
+Jules Winnfield very well said!
How does this compare to a b5m?
It's a great improvement and part of the new evolution of 2wd. The B5M was legendary though
@TheRCNetwork I just bought a used B5M that's in good condition. Do you think it can still be competitive? I'm planning to club race in the 17.5 class
Racing is 90% driver and 10% car usually. I'd pull the manual and set that buggy up to box stock 100% unless you can get a set up sheet for your track with that buggy. It will give you a chance to check everything and see how it's put together as well.

Maybe my tools are to good but alot of things strip or break. I would say bad kit.
I want one so bad too bad no one cares oh well I never get anything for my birthday anymore lol im only 14
Get that lawnmower out, wash some cars, make it happen!
