Loved hearing about your experience with these different curriculums! I think lapbooks are really cool, and I'd love it if my kids did those when they are older.
Thank you so much! lapbooks are so handy. My kids seem to really retain what they are learning with having everything together. Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Tiffany, if your kids are good with maths, have you thought of trying Beast Academy? They have both online and printed materials. They don't have free samples, but they do offer a period of time where you can use the online and cancel for a refund. Maybe it's worth checking it out.
I’m loving the new intro, sweet and simple! We ended up dropping RightStart this year as well on level B. It was the one curriculum I felt entirely wonderful about until my daughter started to resist it so much. She HATED when I’d mention anything about the abacus and I was noticing we’d be spending anywhere from 45 mins to over an hour on a lesson with zero retention the next day. We ended up switching to Math With Confidence and have had a much better experience but since it’s so new we’ll likely age out of the available levels before the next ones are published. 😩 Have you looked into Teaching Textbooks? I have heard good things about it and there’s a completely hands off option for parents. I can’t personally vouch for it, but have IRL homeschool friends who use it and like it a lot.
Thank you so much Heather! ❤️ oh wow that’s really interesting to hear we have had a similar experience. The time was just such a big negative for me too. I have got a trial of teaching textbooks. But I have read that for kids that can see the algorithms in games they tend to figure out how to make the work easy, guessing more and things like that. I can see this happening a little already… I will continue with it and see. Thank you so much for watching! 🤗
