    Thanks so much, this is exactly what I have been trying to find out since getting my S1! The standard laser is essentially a blue laser (455nm is blue light) and so the blue acrylic reflects it rather than absorbing the energy - hence it looks blue when it reflects the blue light in daylight

    Thank you! I just got my xtool machine in the mail and I’m in need of tutorials and guidance on what materials and things I need to do or can do with this machine. I’m excited.

      Nice. I wasn’t sure about acrylic at first but just said I would buy a pack of different colors just to see. Turned out great. Hopefully I can play around with the settings to get at least one shade of blue to work. May have to try the thinner acrylic for that though.

    Great video. I’m definitely going to look into purchasing this. I dream of using a laser. 😂

    I have a 10w diode, I wonder if these setting will work for me or if I'll need to adjust. I've been afraid to try more colors ( red and black have worked just fine) but I haven't been able to get through the white yet

      You never know unless you try. I just tried different setting to see what I could get to work. Still haven’t had a chance to try blue shades again. I do think it matters the brand and thickness of acrylic too.

    Thanks so much for this video. Did you end up finding any settings that worked for the blues?

      Haven’t had the chance to try again yet. When I do I will make a video. I was actually thinking to trying to buy a different brand and thickness to see if that matters.

    I have a m1 ultra, but mine only melts . What acrylic do you use?
    I have extruded

      I use glowforge eco thin, I put the colored acrylic I used in this video in the description, and recently started using the 1/16 acrylic from Houston acrylic which I like.

    I am looking at picking up the same laser. This is good to know.
    How do you clean up the charing?

    • @liciatoday
      @liciatoday  2 месяца назад +1

      There are different things to try like rubbing alcohol, sanding, and using masking tape. However, trying out different settings to not have this occur would be best.

    I was excited to find your video, I tried my white acrylic following your instructions and it’s still burning! Would you have any suggestions?

      Seems like lowering the power and speed worked. Try doing that in increments with small test shape until you get the setting that works best for your laser. Also are you using cast acrylic and what is the thickness? Could depend on that as well.

    Thank you for this video. I was so afraid to try the acrylic. I did all these tests and then tried them on the glitter. I still can't get the glitter to work. Have you tested that yet?

    • @liciatoday
      @liciatoday  2 месяца назад

      No. I don’t really use glitter in my business so have not purchased any glitter acrylic. Hopefully you can find something that works. However I have seen info saying if you mostly want to do acrylic you need a different type of laser.

    What about mirror acrylics? Have you had any luck there?

      I have not tried mirrored acrylic.

    Why did you reduce the power and the speed for the white and other colors? Why not just slow it down and leave the power at 100%?

    • @liciatoday
      @liciatoday  Месяц назад +1

      The speed was already low and I didn’t think it would stop the melting without decreasing the power. Even with white tumblers that I do it seems white likes less power and slower speed. So this is what works for the laser I have. You can always try out different settings I am sure there can be more than one that works.

    You do not need 3 passes at that power and speed

      For my laser the settings I showed worked how I showed in the video. Everyone has to test their own laser to see what works for their own. I am just showing what worked for mine. Take care.
