Are you going to buy one TO THROW? What spot would it take in your bag or disc would it replace? I'm curious
First and it would replace my destroyers and maybe my raiders
Currently trying it out in my least stable destroyer slot and my less stable sheriff slot. Liking it so far.
I'm a beginner who maxes out with light 9 speeds. Therefore I've been immune to the feeding frenzy around the TimeLapse since it's just too much for my noodly arm. I'll stick to my Tesla or Fireball.
Haven’t thrown it yet but hoping it will replace my beat up destroyer for forehands
I got one in the '23 Gyro Box & it would replace the Ducker Destroyer 😉
The back-to-back roll aways with the disc flipping to reveal TRASH at the end killed me. Also impressive that you got back the lost sailor on the ice

Sometimes as a lefty it feels like every throw on every hole has to be a Simon line, so I'm very excited to put my Time Lapse on the throws it was born for 😎
I know this was more so a round with the new disc/ comparison to the proto.
But I feel like it would have been cooler to see a direct comparison to the destroyer, by throwing each on every hole. Still good content and fun to watch.
The safari style reminds me of one of my local courses, Limestone Ledges in Maurertown. It is a large property with 3 overlapping courses, and during low traffic times you can play so many weird, and fun, layouts.
i always bring a small multi tool with me it's always handy to have! great content as always and amazing work on your improvement! i started dropping my back foot for forehands since kevin taught you and it's helped!
Long time viewer, first time commenter. I had a hard time watching this one not because of the discs but because wearing ankle socks and joggers out in the Colorado cold gave me chills even in the east coast. Nothing worse than cold ankles 😂😂

When I lived in Denver I kept telling the locals their courses were easy and boring. They didn’t believe me until some of them went to AM worlds in Madison. Came back and were like “wow” and then I told them those are just above average courses for WI.

Just bought it, im not the furthest thrower, but I got a single 120-140m ish throw, where it flexed perfectly. Usually I just use it as a far meathook, because it hyzers in so sharply

Wow, what a challenging course. Definitely having to pick some tight lines...haha Maybe carry some DG dice to depict the tee-shot each hole? I think discs nowadays are more about marketing than performance. There's only so many ways to mold a plate...
I have no use for a disc like this. Doesnt mean its bad, i just dont have the power for it. I have an Avery destroyer for meathook shots, i throw it maybe 3 times a year. No need to take up space for a 2nd version of that same thing. It makes absolute perfect sense though that a disc designed for one of the furthest throwers in the world would be really stable and 98.37% of people wouldn't be able to get any turn out of it. Maybe it should be numbered 12 5 0 3 but im not expert and flight numbers are so inconsistent from one manufacturer to another i dont see much of a reason to argue.
I got a purple one today and love it. I feel it flies very true to ts numbers.

I have a stock purple and my son has a blue one. So far on initial throws, they are so good and man do they skip. SE is more stable than the normal stamp.

I’ve pretty much accepted that the fastest disc I ever throw will be an 11 speed. Or maybe a 12 speed with a small rim. Not a destroyer or anything like it tho
If you want to throw a destroyer get one in DX plastic, they're much more flippy than the premium plastic. Pretty much becomes a different disc

lolz... don't loan em out. I figure its a rule that when you loan a disc, its gna find the first tree at full speed and then perhaps some pavement. Its like Murphys law applies for sure.

I think the bar was set too high on this disc because there was so much hype surrounding its release. But there are probably several discs with similar flight numbers out there that will fly better than this one. Most average players won’t have the arm speed to throw this to its full potential. I throw a lot of MVP/axiom out of personal preference, not because they magically fly better than other brands

Is no one seriously going to address the fact that the timelapse is not a 12 speed? It is a 13 speed with a 23mm rim like all the other 13 speed rims from mvp. The axiom site says its a 22mm rim but the pdga approved discs has it at a 23mm rim. The rim width really does determine the speed. Look at any disc above a 5 speed and it will hold true. There are plenty of discs that say different speed than the rim width but they fly more like the speed they should be called based off of the rim width than the speed number they are given.
Examples:
Insanity, lariate, escape are 9 speeds with a 20mm (10 speed) rim width and they go the same distance as the era, max weight sapphire, and beast.
Also an avenger ss and a heat fly rhe same distance even tgough avenger ss is 10 speed amd heat a 9 speed but bith have the 19mm rim width.
It seems to be a bit if a marketing thing as most if the time a speed is given to a disc 1 speed slower than it should be far more tha 1 speed faster so they can say thus is now the farthest flying 9 speed when it is actually a 10 speed and that is the reason it flies farther.
Now i am not upset at this, i just thought it was interesting that this hasnt been brought up much. Love simon and everything he and mvp are doing. But really isnt this disc alot more closely related to a boss than a destroyer? Or depending on how stable they fly it could be compared to a nitro or panic? Again not trying to rant, just making a case for a better comparison.
So one thing to think about is this: the speed of the disc isn't purely determined by the rim width. Don't get me wrong, I prefer a speed rating to match the rim width, but manufacturers often make a disc less aerodynamic to offset the rim width. For example some discs have a "shim" or "spacer" added between the flight plate and rim, so it makes the edge more blunt. This makes the disc less streamlined, and more stable. Now in the case of the Time-Lapse, from what I've seen online, the edge is at least as aerodynamic as Destroyers and other 12-speed discs. And the rim is at least as thick. But perhaps there are other aspects to its shape that make it throw slower. I haven't seen anywhere yet where any Time-Lapse has gone farther than any Destroyer, even the least stable ones. Time will tell. 🙂
@@NickCarrolli think more so than it flying farther the 13 speed theory makes it act more overstable than the 12 speed should be. It seems like the timelapse is more over stable like a higher speed driver would be while thriwn at the same speed as the 12 speed drivers.

I'm roughly a year into the sport and don't know the history. I do know that Simon is a great player but I don't see the hype in the disc, maybe one day...
Sadly I think the time lapse was a major flop...I haven't seen or heard anything good about them...honestly just get a destroyer imo
