*If anyone has any extra advice or help when it come's to riding dirt bikes, enduro etc they could share with others then please leave it in the comment section and help each other out*
@@harleyniece5168I know it’s hard to know which one suits you better as not many of us have the choice of different bikes but if any of your friends have different ones then honestly give them a go , I started off on a ktm250 sxf for enduro and it was the biggest mistake for me personally as it was just way too heavy and as a beginner i just couldn’t handle the power so if you take anything from this just try and ride as many different bikes as you can and one will definitely just click with you
My advice is don't get caught up in having the best or the newest anything. Get out there and ride. Your confidence will grow, you will make less mistakes and learn valuable lessons. Just be smart and ride.
Great helpful video. Also if anyone if fancying doing a hare and hounds or similar style event remember you can pit as many times and for as long as you like till you feel ready to go again. It’s all about having fun at the end of the day. Also everyone is their to help and don’t be embarrassed in asking people questions if your not sure. The enduro scene is all about helping each other. ✊
My advice for new riders - don't go over the top with the bike. I used to love my CRF450 for MX but off the MX track it was just a handful. I'm used to big bikes so it wasn't the uncontrollable monster some might have you believe but it was noticably more work to keep it going nicely through woods and over slower stuff. Enduro's and even road biased things like DR's (stripped back appropriately) are much easier going and don't have the hair trigger throttle response - though they are a lot heavier. Something like a 250 4t enduro is probably about as good as it gets depending on which one it is. Most importantly don't worry about getting a shiny new one. You will drop it. You will hit things on it. It will get broken. Just get something you're comfortable controlling - even if thats a 125 - then get out there and ride a good few times to get used to it before investing much. Its surprising how much fun you can have with 15hp in the right places but of course if you have any big hills or open land to do you're better off with a bit more engine. Two big points - don't get nicked doing something daft because that affects your road license weather you have one or not. Also wear decent gear. I've seen too many people go out in a pair of steel toe caps and a cheap lid then wonder why they break when they land. Use the protection to the value of what you're protecting. If you don't value your head wear a cap. If you don't like your bones its a t-shirt and shorts for you. Initially I would spend more on gear than the bike and even if its cheapish it just needs to protect well.
Good advice by this gent ,even when its 30 degrees here,mx boots and all the armour,If you use an enduro helmet they are also lighter and cooler. As well as my 450 i have a crf300l with modded suspension.Im never worried riding alone on it and with some practice you can go pretty quick, usually faster or just as fast as any adventure bike off road.
this is a great video for someone like me trying to get into enduro in the the UK. I do enduro in Kosovo but I find it's much more difficult to do it in the UK, especially that I live in London :( maybe I'll be able to get into the sport here in the UK soon! Great video ride safe 👊👊
This channel is on my top 5 of best mc channels on yt It's informative, wholesome and very entertaining! Keep up the excellent work, man. you make my day every time I watch one of your videos
The biggest help has been understanding suspention and how that can be such a great help with making riding easier and enabling you go faster for longer. Don’t be scared to change the clickers on a day out, just try it out! Set your sag, set your fork height to suite what your riding.
Brother just because you don’t hit the power band often doesn’t mean you’re not a good rider. I grew up racing 2 strokes and riding ATVs on gnarly trails and I seriously doubt I could do the crazy tight woods riding you do. Bobbing and weaving through those trees and up those steep hills takes skills and clutch control like no other. Love the channel.
Well said. You covered it well. My advice is ride to to your skill set until you are comfortable with pushing your limits. Have fun and look out for each other
1 tip of advice is if you have short legs take the seat off take out the staples holding the seat cover get the electric carving knife out a marker pen and cut the foam away then get a plasterers surform shaver and shape the seat, staple the seat cover back on and you can get up to an extra 25mm-30mm which doesn't sound a lot but being able to touch the floor gives a lot more confidence also undo triple clamps and push shocks up gain a little more leg room hasn't compromised the sherco 300 I have and gives me more confidence.
Well put together dude. I am just starting out with motocross and enduro. With limited funds I brought a yz125 2 stroke Just to get going keep up the great work fella
The gasgas is a great cheaper option aswell. I mean it is just a red ktm but here is Australia the price difference is about 4 grand which is massive. I paid 12900 for my 350f and the ktm is about 18000 so worth a look if you want a cheaper option. Great video as always
Great tip video.I have have a Suzuki 250 4 stroke and I enjoy ripping through the woods with family and friends.your tips help me a lot.I watch all your videos over and over.keep up the great videos 👍👍👍👍👍
I ride a yz 250 but I've geared it down I've fitted a flywheel weight 14 52 sprocket 18" rear wheel. It is amazing I can be 4th 5th going slow through trails and having the power to get me out of trouble. I like this set up as its got the in-between of both motor x and enduro bikes. I'm yet to soften the suspension but I'm about to. Hope this helps
I know this is an old video but i love your simple honesty and enthusiasm for the sport.I ride in Greece and i think most followers of your channel would agree.Oh and your advice is good and i,ve ridden a long time.
I’ve got my first 2 stroke (ktm exc 250) and after 3 different 4 strokes (ktm excf 250, honda crf 450 and ktm excf 350) and I can categorically say that 4strokes are way easier to ride but a lot pricier to fix 🤷🏻♂️……I’ve had a good time trying to tame the 2 stroke though 🤙🏻💪🏻🏴
Very cool to see this type of content & nice job on the video edit as well. Especially like the advice on parts you can buy to protect the bike, and the riding tips are helpful too. Thanks! 🤘
Another great video mate been waiting for this and 100% agree with look straight ahead👍🏻I was hoping u was going to mention about the tsp head you’ve had done and the other mod that rocket Ralph did for u plus have u done anything to your suspension?
something like a exc 200 or a beta 200rr, or even the xtrainer ideal first bike for enduro in my opinion, plenty of power but not overwhelming or uncontrollable, fairly easy to ride, easy to maintain, nice and light, get something that's a couple of years old as you will put some fair battle dents on the thing especially starting out, i think getting in the habit of standing as much as possible is good too, preserves a lot of energy and you will have a lot more control over the bike, also taking the time to position your bars, your levers etc etc makes a big difference, you've gotta feel comfortable on the bike, totally agree about looking ahead, i have a terrible habit of looking down and i end up all over the place or crashing, great tip, and just touching on what you said about the enduro community, its !00% one big family who fore the most part look out for each other and help each other, i came off a couple of times this weekend in valley extreme and you will always get a couple of riders slow down and just ask if your ok, its very humbling and something i never experienced or witnessed in mx, you will make some incredible friends through the community, I'm still a novice, but my biggest tip would be just enjoy it have fun ride your own ride, don't feel intimidated by other riders who are faster, we all start somewhere and never give up 🏁 great vid 🤘
If you can't spend much on a bike, the early 2000's yamaha wrf's are a cheap bike to pick up and easy to mod for more power when you're ready for it. You can cut a wire and change a bolt to get the wr250f running the same as a yz250f. I picked mine up for 1200$ AUD
In my neck of the woods we have a lot of public paths (don't really want to call them roads since they are rough as all hell) that go near or through peoples land, if you also are in such an area biggest thing is to be respectful and mindful, slow down for walkers, bikers and if you encounter the owner of the land or someone working or are confronted by someone it don't be a dick, keep calm, wave or even stop and have a chat, it helps keep a positive outlook on the enduro community and if you ride the trails often the people might recognize you and you could even make some new, unexpected friends.
My first enduro bike was a 2009 GasGas 300 2 stroke (I miss this bike so much and I'm converting back to a 2 stroke this year) I'm currently riding a 2018 Beta 480RR 4 stroke and best advice I can give is 4 stroke - long distance trail riding (comfort), 2 stroke - tight enduro playing on the hills however some are really good at tight enduro on a 4 stroke but I wouldn't recommend a big 4 stroke for your first if you want to go play in the woods or on the rocks 🤣
An MX bike will work starting out, can have em for 3 to 4k for a decent one, put about 1k in it to make it trail comfortable. No you don’t need Tech 10s for your first boots, O’Neal’s work just fine.
Definitely a good video to keep making im just wanting to get into enduro and this video helps and sure you can make a load more similar videos to help out cheers 🍻

Great informative video chap..! Can’t wait to get a bike, and head to my parents, who live in mid wales..! So many places I want to explore..! Watching your videos, (most days) just makes me want to get bike even quicker…! Ride free and rip it…! 🤙🏻🤙🏻

I find that it’s people who aren’t from an area where dirtbikes are popular, have a probelm with the noise and use on trails yet the locals and people who are used to it realize that if they are respectful so are we and its a hobby not a shitty thing to do, people jus see it as destroy trails yet half the woods would’ve never been explored without bikes
That's a hard one. It all depends on what you like and what you're comfortable wearing and what make. They all differ in price range so it's hard to talk through.
Regarding the tip at 7:30 min regarding Husqvarna subframe would it be possible to put weaker bolts? Even perhaps nylon bolts? I guess the standard bolts are steel (or stainless) and replacing those with nylon or even aluminium bolts could be helpful to avoid breaking the subframe as they would snap first than the subframe itself (working like a mechanical fuse). Maybe just an idea?
my tip: join the TRF - you will meet a shedload of folk with a shitload of knowledge and you will learn so many places to ride, legally, both on lanes/byways etc and other land ;-)
Yes midwest!! Watch all your videos end up watching one and getting zoned out for a couple hours lol. Im from cardiff and im always keen on finding some enduro mates. Dont know how to message you so if you see this give me a shout 😁😎
Buy a mousse - Drill and tap grease nipples into wheel - Grease wheel/mousse after every dozen rides..... Mousse will last years! 4-5 years in my case. Use non petroleum grease so it doesn't eat away at the Mousse tube.
G'day Midwest.. Recently acquired a 2023 Ktm 300 exc after not riding for 10 Years. I know,10 Years but meeting My Lovely and then my beautiful Daughter's arrival...life is crazy. Holly Shizzer...how Good is this Ktm 300,and how life changing riding Dirt Bikes really is. Thankyou Mate, your video's convinced me to ride again 👍 Midwest..PLEASE tell me the name of your cool Tune in your credits on your recent video. Thanks from Melbourne Australia Trajan
@@anthonycanavan8744 nah I’ve never had suspension done. I’d like to. Probably start with a revalve and go from there. Test it out. Start with the cheapest
Suspension is by far the best investment you can make on your bike. I’ve spend £100’s on fancy pipes, cylinder heads, bling etc… the single best and most transformational modification… suspension!! I now run cone valve forks, they’re very expensive, but we’ll worth it in my opinion. The K tech ORVS I had before is a huge improvement over stock on standard forks though :)
Hi mate, great video, 👌👍. Could I ask a question, probably a daft question, I want to get into enduro riding, I do have road bikes and I'm an OK rider, but I want an enduro bike we're I don't have to change the oil and air filter etc every 20hrs is that possible, I just want a bike that I can go have fun on and not worry about it seizing up on me any help would be greatly appreciated cheers, thanks John. 👍👍
Yeah sure mate. Get a modern two stroke like a KTM or Husqvarna. There's a pot which you fill with oil and then it mixes the 2 stroke oil into your petrol tank automatically. Change oil on them every 50-60 hours and new piston every 120-150 hours. Super easy to maintain. I always ride a ktm 300 exc for enduro and never had any major issues.
I seen u got a tsp head and u probably got ur ecu remapped I would love to know we’re u got it from and what was it like to ship out and how long it took to get back am from ni so I know it won’t be the seem but should be similar shipping wise 👍

I need to come and ride with you guys only a novice though
What do think of a Montesa 4ride for green laning ,etc ,that’s all I do I have a crf250 x and I’m thinking of a change
I am a new rider and I have a crf 125 and am trying to get a yz 85 or ktm 85 idk what I should do like should I stay with 4 stroke and go to crf 250f

Thanks for the tips! New rider. Just got a 23 ktm 250 sfx. Your videos inspired ,e to make the leap for my first bike!

Brilliant video. Thank you so much. This really is a whistle stop tour of Enduro.
You should come riding in the US is fun
Keep shredding mate love your raw vids on your newer channel
I have a 300 4stroke crf 300l do you think i can ride enduro on it

Really good video and great advice for anyone starting out, sadly Scotland does not have any byways need to get land owners permission.
I've been having trouble with my mediums clogging with mud and they wear pretty quick so I'll try the Mitas next.
Definitely a good video to keep making im just wanting to get into enduro and this video helps and sure you can make a load more similar videos to help out cheers 🍻
Great video dude 👍🏼
Amazing video 20 soon getting my first car and an enduro bike, subbed straight away🥰🌍🏍️
For pay and play I’d recommend butts quarry in Derbyshire very good track some easy and some harder tracks
I’ve ridden there. It was an epic event
Nice one 👍

The UK TET is also a cracker to ride especially the Walsh part of it - the route is online!
Bro you need to buy cr250 or cr300 they are 2 strokes too , insane bikess
Very helpful tips Thankyou!

I just need to get through 2 more years of college so I can start enduro riding at 39 years old. Still not sure if I should go 2 or 4 stroke.
Great video buddy
Very informative video . should be very helpful to any guys looking to get into enduro .

One point you don't cover is what kind of budget do you need to consider apart from the bike purchase ?
That's a hard one. It all depends on what you like and what you're comfortable wearing and what make. They all differ in price range so it's hard to talk through.

How often does it need a piston change?
What action camera setup do you use.
my tip: join the TRF - you will meet a shedload of folk with a shitload of knowledge and you will learn so many places to ride, legally, both on lanes/byways etc and other land ;-)

Is yamaha yz 125 good enduro bike?
Can you get a good enduro bike for 4000€?
you had any suspension work done? and was it worth it? currently looking at getting the ktech orvs kit as it seems to be the people choice?
Not had anything done to the suspension yet but it’s on the list
@@MidWestMX did you on your previous bike? You going for setup/revalue or some thing like the orvs kit?
@@anthonycanavan8744 nah I’ve never had suspension done. I’d like to. Probably start with a revalve and go from there. Test it out. Start with the cheapest
@@MidWestMX make sure to let us know how you get on. Keep up the good work! 👍🏻
Does anyone know the best way to connect an external mic to a go pro hero 10 ?
I always ride a ktm 300 exc for enduro and never had any major issues.
anything from 2019 onwards
How much is it per person to ride at mick exstance
I seen u got a tsp head and u probably got ur ecu remapped I would love to know we’re u got it from and what was it like to ship out and how long it took to get back am from ni so I know it won’t be the seem but should be similar shipping wise 👍
TSP Rutherford racing I got it from in the uk. Takes a week in the post. Check their website
@@MidWestMX cheers mate
My advice is to keep your bike in the back of your truck and drive around town. The chicks you get by owning a dirt bike are bangin....
lol
