Got one spring of 24. Absolutely loved carving up the hill with this! I love cruising and carving: Cross hill, deep carves.
No limits to the edge hold all morning.
And once the hill got all chewed up, I just kept carving because it powered through the chop and didn’t try to buck me or beat me up.
I personally didn’t find it to be a lot of work to lay down deep carves, but I only run posi-posi and am used to bending long boards.

I bought this board this season and found it to be surprisingly nimble. Yes, it is a beast through the centre, but that’s where the stability comes from. I have even been riding it on a packed indoor run full of newbies and kids and not had any issues.
Holding long carves on this board has been much easier than any previous board I have ridden. You just have to get over the nose and it will lock in hold like crazy.
The base is also fantastic and really rapid for having so much surface area.
There is the caveat that I ride posi-posi and I am 193cm (6’4”) on the 170W.
Note that the 177 is no longer in the range this year.

Did you consider trying it posi/posi or similar? I don't think it would change much of non-carving comments, but I wonder if it would have made the carving a bit more fun. At this size it's clearly a specialized board.

I think we have to adapt and ride posi posi angles to get the best out of such a board?

      Definitely

Yup 27/12 posi if you want to lay down carves and make fast transitions. Love this board!.

      @ Of course!
It is an interesting discussion if we gain more from changing our stance regarding type of board or riding or if we gain most from staying with a fixed stance no matter what

Consistency is the key to success. Changing stance for one specific board throws off that consistency. Then there's personal preference plus what your body can handle/knows. Any time I go posi on the back foot the hip flexor gets torques to the point it throws the back hip out of alignment by up to 1cm or more and then screws my back up.

Sounds like the Freecarver is the better more aggressive ride.
