bunny hoppers you just shoot in the pp and I come from the era where you got good or got destroyed but I get where you're coming from. they can just remove the ability to shoot while jumping the core gameplay is built around the hero stuff so i don't think that will work just removing it. they will have to remake the game at that point. I really don't try half the time and still get high k.d not to be cocky. but i been gaming for so long it's just natural to hold angles. i barley play the game but when I hop on ill drop 25 to 40 kills then I get rounds where I get no hit reg and then I don't play for weeks. so, I'm just assuming that's what could be the issue. bad net code and you tie in crossplay. not sure about you but cross play pvp i can never stick around long. to many issues cross play optimization no choice but to have it in the game since wide specs are in use we can't have pc players destroying everyone lol with the faster parts they have. imo cross play ruined a lot of pvp titles but do think it's best for pve

I dont think it'll have a renewed hayday. I think their best bet now is to continue to cater to who they have. Add quality of life improvements, maybe a PVE similar to halo infinite, shorten the seasons, and add a little bit more earnable content. Essentially just try to maintain a sustainable player base. It's a fun shooter and ultimately i think it'll be around for awhile.
I think if they had a pve mode that was like 20$ they would be surprised how well it would do esp if it had seasonal content that added on to make that 20$ that much more fruitful while ALSO making it an alternative weapon leveling route with a whole new set of camos to boot...easy money maybe it could have a storyline to go with it that has chapters that get added upon seasonally to be fair no game ever in time as far as i know ever has topped its initial numbers unless they were low, for instance even with a music example 50 cent he had get rich or die tryin and it was all downhill from there sales-wise

xDefiant can be on the way up, but they'd need a few things. 1) Finish the netcode updates to reduce packet size so we aren't dying around walls or seeing hit markers that don't register damage 2) A big update to bring players back. Not 1 map this month, 1 faction, a battle pass and 3 new guns. We need like 3-5 maps all at once and maybe 2 factions. 3) Not really needed, but it helps - BO6 continuing to do stupid S*** like coming out saying that the blood splatter for hits that don't register is "the bug" they are going to fix...like really? Maybe just fix the shots not registering damage? I don't play BO6 but I read that news today and was just blown away by it. 4) A big marketing push
The elephant is still in the room with the netcode. Ubisoft games have all struggled with this garbage since 2008to this day it’s crazy. So many things need attention like more decals, more player cards for player expression through achievement instead of who paid more money, the game readability is still bad with people gliding on the floor instead of strafing while crossing their legs like walking side to side like normal character models, audio enhancements are needed with gunshots and footsteps, a better way to tell enemy from friend instead of waiting for the game to light their name above them, create a class needs more slots, and the events have to actually be entertaining to participate in. Not to mention, the skins and everything that is unlockable is not worth it and all of them look terrible. This game has so much potential but I’d be lying if it is pulling the typical Ubisoft play of leaving the game at 70% finished or not putting their foot on the gas when it was picking up traction. Look at watch dogs, ghost recon, assassins creed, for honor , the crew, farcry, you name it. Trash company fr they better put all their eggs in xdefiant or go bankrupt

100% i complain about the audio clutter all the time while in parties i honestly prob lost friends in game over it lol, I can't just sit there and smile...I have seen ppl in t poses or teleporting across the map even at times...aches and mark will never respond when I ask about lag compensation because they think im a cheat developer or something LOL as a creator partner I get a lot of stuff for FREE including the factions at the start of the season that are a chore to unlock for new players and the only new content usually aside from a map which turns a lot of ppl off, I think it should be based off something more in the players control rather than a whopping 750k score which takes a while of grinding unless u pay for a skin... I think they have so much potential but they are being led by people who just look at excel sheets and not by the actual devs and gamers who can make the game what it needs to be

yea i think so. first impression is like everything in this day and age. if we’re comparing to cod too, cod haters including myself always give activision slack for dropping half baked unfinished games and updating them as they go. literally exactly how xdefiant dropped. it just feels like the open beta forgot to close down one weekend and it’s still accessible. i really hope the best for this game, for now i jumped ship to cod cuz thats where all my friends are at, and with the new job im working i dont really have time to play xdefiant solo rn. have a lot of love for the game because the game at its core is everything i ever wanted from an arcade shooter. pickings just couldn’t be slimmer rn tho sadly

You know its a good day when dartlin uploads. Im from Australia and i cant get any games on MnK ibmm off. Its been like this since bo6 was released. I play mainly on asian servers and ive only come across one blatant cheater so far
I think the skill gap is just rather high, most ppl claiming cheats are more new to fps and this game attracts more fps vets...I don't assume cheats ever I think that's bad form, most ppl are just good at the game at this point I only get suspicious if it's a low lvl account
@bigethab3465 same thing for me bro. I'm from South Africa, Mnk ibmm off, cross play on, all game modes selected. Havent found a single game on Africa servers since BO6 launched. Always Europe at around 196-213 ping. On the odd occasion, I'll get Asia at about 153 ping. I find Asia games a LOT better than when I'm on Europe. But either of those, it's like playing a different game to when I was on local Africa servers. Now it just feels like I'm running with lead boots, hitreg is trash, die around corners, die before the enemy even appears on screen. I never experienced any of that when I was on local servers at about 30 ping. It was sooooo smooth and nice and snappy. I miss those days :( I'm still playing the game though, mostly cos I find I can get a ton of studying done during the 30 minutes I wait between games for matchmaking.
I just find it crazy that all of the diehard Xdefiant RUclipsrs continue to completely ignore the issues, they even quoted Jev when season 2 came out and were saying, “look he is saying the game is good” and has Jev made a video on the game since? Nope which means he doesn’t play it
the viability for it to earn money for creators is not there at the moment so many of the ones who do it for a full time living simply cant afford to start posting a bunch of videos that could possibly lower their visibility in the algorithm if it doesn't get as many views as usual and possibly they are just not playing it...I think a lot of it has to do with the size of the overall viewership which seems to be a reflection of the overall size of the playerbase in general (there will always be casuals etc but in general the crowd playing xdefiant is kind of niche at this point in time I think)
I hope xDefiant gets saved, it has a right to live longer. I just feel that they used people being sick of CoD as a marketing tactic which only caters to a certain group of players rather than the whole gaming community.

I really wish they gave S3 a chance. Ubisoft really shot the team in the head just to avoid bringing that team into the next fiscal quarter. Shitty companies always take these teams out right before Christmas too. XDefiant and UbiSF deserved so much better.
Overall having a good time with ups and downs. Not least when I remember how COD has developed since 2019 (and hearing about the BO6 shit show). Im just a simple guy who wants to have brainless fun a couple of hours in the evenings - and Xdefiant gives me that. Looking forward to season 3, prestige master and what not. Fingers crossed for the game.

I fully expect this game to be fine, it's the closest competitor to CoD right now and CoD has so much shady shit going on between EOMM, skill-based damage, all these other things screwing over the experience and giving people a bad taste. Won't be surprised if a lot of CoD players, especially the better ones, move over to XD until things are fixed, IF things are ever fixed.
I agree, I enjoy the ability to just get on xd and be able to have fun rather than feel like every situation is a gamble how it feels on cod...they literally HIDE the ping on the scoreboard...that's all I needed to know to not buy the game, I play warzone occasionally with friends, but as far as multiplayer goes, I enjoy xd a lot more personally

this game will be great the gameplay core is good the factions need some slight tweaks and they great fun and decently rewarding and a nice counter with alot of classes without having straight hard counters like overwatch the maps are so great and has alot of variety the weapon balance is really good i never feel like im getting shit on by a gun only the player with is nice cheatings lows the mastery system we have now isgood the problem is that there should be another system along side it like headshot challeneges to unlock camos like cod and other games simple effective fun problems atm plaguing the game are lobby disbanding netcode aim assist bugged mnk lobbies being almost impossible at alot of times of the day sights of ur guns not actully showing where the bullets going in my eyes this games great the problems are just alot of small thing piled that sometimes can bugged ur with the few big things that happen every game this is the one game where patience is actually valued but in this new gaming climate patience isnt really as much of a thing since its just constantly in need of something new to keep people happy which sucks
This game has honestly just been incredibly boring for me. I still don't like the inertia-less movement, the gun play just feels bad with how aiming sensitivity seems to be handled (though it may be because of the still jarring movement), and the kill trading thats still an issue after recent "patches", just creates a very lack luster experience for me. I still feel as though this game is unfinished, unpolished, and, in general, unappealing. Like, one thing that has bothered me from launch, of which I haven't seen anyone talk about, are the weapons. Not the gunplay, the look, and the sound. Why do they sound like plastic? Have no actual gun feel? Why do they look like chewed up dog toys? This has bothered me for months. I know this is an acrade shooter, but the guns are outright unappealing in ever sense of the word. Hell, even the finals does better with gun audio. And the mastery camos. I hate to ruffle some feathers, but they are and have been terrible since they were introduced. Firstly, mastery camos should apply to all parts and extensions of the weapon, attachments, unique blueprints/bundle skins, etc. This should apply uniformly. Additionally, the mastery camos are also lazy as shit. It is often a single color swap with nothing else. Sure, rainbow titanium looks cool at first, until you realize how flat the color gradiant feels. It is literally just another recolor. Its a slap on skin. And obsidian. That is a complete failure of a mastery skin. It doesnt even apply to the fucking barrel of a gun. Are you shitting me? I have to grind hundreds of hours for a mastery skin that looks worse than gold. And they couldn't for the life of them maybe add some texture? You know what would've been cool? Reactive mastery camos. Add some texture to them like how obsidian tried to. Give them ACTUAL good value as a mastery camo. Shop bundles shouldn't be completely outdoing the visual appreciation of a skin you have to grind possibly weeks for. I feel like this isn't talked enough because people are scared to call the game ugly. It is. Its an ugly game. Nothing about the maps stands out the way old MW maps did, or Black Ops 1 or 2, and for a game trying to compete with cod, at least do better than games a decade your senior. Anyway. Thats one of my gripes I've never really gotten the chance to air out since this community is allergic to criticism and the subreddit has an xdefiant apologist as a dev.
yeah there are def a lot of things that need work I still get shot around corners and have kill trades more often than I should, I appreciate the simplicity of the game but totally understand there's a ton of things that need work...I also don't like that the mastery skin doesn't properly cover the gun
@dartlinfps I don't mind simplicity, but xdefiant doesn't really have simplicity. It would be better if and when they decide to not make all the attachments basically useless. The only attachments I run are leather grip, small vert, and the stock version of leath grip (forgot the name atm). Because like, why not? I would love xdefiant to be simple, but many of the attachments have such serious cons because of the long ttk that most attachments are useless. If you do not shoot first. You die. Every time. Like, I don't really see anyone run anything outside of sprint to fire attachments or ads attachments because like why not? Nothing else is useful. I'd call it simplicity if it werent for the fact that its basically mandatory. Old cod didn't do this. There was no penelty for attachmants and THAT was simple. You didnt fear your attachments or your gun. In xdefiant I feel a sense of failure with my gun when I lose gunfights to an smg in the damage range that I should excel at. I feel cheated a lot in this game. If that isnt obvious lol
xdefiant is all around better than bo6. slide mechanics is ass on xdefiant though. everything else is better. if xdefiant dropped with mechanics as good as apex/titanfall but was arena arcade style this game would have boomed. basically the game so many people are waiting for is a fast paced smooth moving good fps. seems like so many people are just waiting on a next game and xdefiant/bo6 and everything else of 2024 didn't hit the mark.
I think the first impression of xdefiant really hurt things, even initially putting tom clancy in the name of a hero shooter when it was first publicly introduced got a lot of backlash I think overall though the thing that hurt the game the most was the state of the netcode at the launch of the game

@bigethab3465 same thing for me bro. I'm from South Africa, Mnk ibmm off, cross play on, all game modes selected. Havent found a single game on Africa servers since BO6 launched. Always Europe at around 196-213 ping. On the odd occasion, I'll get Asia at about 153 ping. I find Asia games a LOT better than when I'm on Europe. But either of those, it's like playing a different game to when I was on local Africa servers. Now it just feels like I'm running with lead boots, hitreg is trash, die around corners, die before the enemy even appears on screen. I never experienced any of that when I was on local servers at about 30 ping. It was sooooo smooth and nice and snappy. I miss those days :(
I'm still playing the game though, mostly cos I find I can get a ton of studying done during the 30 minutes I wait between games for matchmaking.
I just find it crazy that all of the diehard Xdefiant RUclipsrs continue to completely ignore the issues, they even quoted Jev when season 2 came out and were saying, “look he is saying the game is good” and has Jev made a video on the game since? Nope which means he doesn’t play it
the viability for it to earn money for creators is not there at the moment so many of the ones who do it for a full time living simply cant afford to start posting a bunch of videos that could possibly lower their visibility in the algorithm if it doesn't get as many views as usual and possibly they are just not playing it...I think a lot of it has to do with the size of the overall viewership which seems to be a reflection of the overall size of the playerbase in general
(there will always be casuals etc but in general the crowd playing xdefiant is kind of niche at this point in time I think)
I think that xd can only improve in future, but that rap moment was so good 👍

I hope xDefiant gets saved, it has a right to live longer. I just feel that they used people being sick of CoD as a marketing tactic which only caters to a certain group of players rather than the whole gaming community.
Exactly I think the game deserves to stand on its own feet, it's got so much potential and I think it just needs to be promoted to the masses rather than trying to poach players...with the masses they'll get the people who never tries fps games or stopped playing them at some point

They're putting off ads until the upcoming season. Essentially, the game isn't in a good spot so they're advertising once it's better.

I really wish they gave S3 a chance. Ubisoft really shot the team in the head just to avoid bringing that team into the next fiscal quarter. Shitty companies always take these teams out right before Christmas too. XDefiant and UbiSF deserved so much better.

Overall having a good time with ups and downs. Not least when I remember how COD has developed since 2019 (and hearing about the BO6 shit show).
Im just a simple guy who wants to have brainless fun a couple of hours in the evenings - and Xdefiant gives me that.
Looking forward to season 3, prestige master and what not. Fingers crossed for the game.

I fully expect this game to be fine, it's the closest competitor to CoD right now and CoD has so much shady shit going on between EOMM, skill-based damage, all these other things screwing over the experience and giving people a bad taste. Won't be surprised if a lot of CoD players, especially the better ones, move over to XD until things are fixed, IF things are ever fixed.
I agree, I enjoy the ability to just get on xd and be able to have fun rather than feel like every situation is a gamble how it feels on cod...they literally HIDE the ping on the scoreboard...that's all I needed to know to not buy the game, I play warzone occasionally with friends, but as far as multiplayer goes, I enjoy xd a lot more personally

this game will be great the gameplay core is good the factions need some slight tweaks and they great fun and decently rewarding and a nice counter with alot of classes without having straight hard counters like overwatch the maps are so great and has alot of variety the weapon balance is really good i never feel like im getting shit on by a gun only the player with is nice cheatings lows the mastery system we have now isgood the problem is that there should be another system along side it like headshot challeneges to unlock camos like cod and other games simple effective fun problems atm plaguing the game are lobby disbanding netcode aim assist bugged mnk lobbies being almost impossible at alot of times of the day sights of ur guns not actully showing where the bullets going in my eyes this games great the problems are just alot of small thing piled that sometimes can bugged ur with the few big things that happen every game this is the one game where patience is actually valued but in this new gaming climate patience isnt really as much of a thing since its just constantly in need of something new to keep people happy which sucks

This game has honestly just been incredibly boring for me. I still don't like the inertia-less movement, the gun play just feels bad with how aiming sensitivity seems to be handled (though it may be because of the still jarring movement), and the kill trading thats still an issue after recent "patches", just creates a very lack luster experience for me. I still feel as though this game is unfinished, unpolished, and, in general, unappealing. Like, one thing that has bothered me from launch, of which I haven't seen anyone talk about, are the weapons.
Not the gunplay, the look, and the sound.
Why do they sound like plastic? Have no actual gun feel? Why do they look like chewed up dog toys?
This has bothered me for months. I know this is an acrade shooter, but the guns are outright unappealing in ever sense of the word. Hell, even the finals does better with gun audio.
And the mastery camos. I hate to ruffle some feathers, but they are and have been terrible since they were introduced. Firstly, mastery camos should apply to all parts and extensions of the weapon, attachments, unique blueprints/bundle skins, etc. This should apply uniformly. Additionally, the mastery camos are also lazy as shit. It is often a single color swap with nothing else. Sure, rainbow titanium looks cool at first, until you realize how flat the color gradiant feels. It is literally just another recolor. Its a slap on skin. And obsidian.
That is a complete failure of a mastery skin.
It doesnt even apply to the fucking barrel of a gun. Are you shitting me? I have to grind hundreds of hours for a mastery skin that looks worse than gold. And they couldn't for the life of them maybe add some texture?
You know what would've been cool? Reactive mastery camos. Add some texture to them like how obsidian tried to. Give them ACTUAL good value as a mastery camo. Shop bundles shouldn't be completely outdoing the visual appreciation of a skin you have to grind possibly weeks for. I feel like this isn't talked enough because people are scared to call the game ugly. It is. Its an ugly game. Nothing about the maps stands out the way old MW maps did, or Black Ops 1 or 2, and for a game trying to compete with cod, at least do better than games a decade your senior.
Anyway. Thats one of my gripes I've never really gotten the chance to air out since this community is allergic to criticism and the subreddit has an xdefiant apologist as a dev.
yeah there are def a lot of things that need work I still get shot around corners and have kill trades more often than I should, I appreciate the simplicity of the game but totally understand there's a ton of things that need work...I also don't like that the mastery skin doesn't properly cover the gun
@dartlinfps I don't mind simplicity, but xdefiant doesn't really have simplicity. It would be better if and when they decide to not make all the attachments basically useless. The only attachments I run are leather grip, small vert, and the stock version of leath grip (forgot the name atm). Because like, why not? I would love xdefiant to be simple, but many of the attachments have such serious cons because of the long ttk that most attachments are useless. If you do not shoot first. You die. Every time. Like, I don't really see anyone run anything outside of sprint to fire attachments or ads attachments because like why not? Nothing else is useful. I'd call it simplicity if it werent for the fact that its basically mandatory. Old cod didn't do this. There was no penelty for attachmants and THAT was simple. You didnt fear your attachments or your gun. In xdefiant I feel a sense of failure with my gun when I lose gunfights to an smg in the damage range that I should excel at. I feel cheated a lot in this game. If that isnt obvious lol

xdefiant is all around better than bo6. slide mechanics is ass on xdefiant though. everything else is better. if xdefiant dropped with mechanics as good as apex/titanfall but was arena arcade style this game would have boomed. basically the game so many people are waiting for is a fast paced smooth moving good fps. seems like so many people are just waiting on a next game and xdefiant/bo6 and everything else of 2024 didn't hit the mark.
I think the first impression of xdefiant really hurt things, even initially putting tom clancy in the name of a hero shooter when it was first publicly introduced got a lot of backlash
I think overall though the thing that hurt the game the most was the state of the netcode at the launch of the game
@ for sure! I stopped playing at launch because of how bad stutters were. Playing now with no problem and having way more fun then bo6. It’s a far better game

@ disagree. Higher budget but so poorly made. Awful maps..worst maybe ever for cod. net code server issues. Awful matchmaking and all this possible skill base dmg nonsense going on. Xdefiant is leaps ahead at being more enjoyable but with less features.
