- Act like you own the place. #Parasite is Now Playing in Theaters.
Bong Joon Ho brings his singular mastery home to Korea in this pitch-black modern fairytale.
Meet the Park Family: the picture of aspirational wealth. And the Kim Family, rich in street smarts but not much else. Be it chance or fate, these two houses are brought together and the Kims sense a golden opportunity. Masterminded by college-aged Ki-woo, the Kim children expediently install themselves as tutor and art therapist, to the Parks. Soon, a symbiotic relationship forms between the two families. The Kims provide “indispensable” luxury services while the Parks obliviously bankroll their entire household. When a parasitic interloper threatens the Kims’ newfound comfort, a savage, underhanded battle for dominance breaks out, threatening to destroy the fragile ecosystem between the Kims and the Parks.
By turns darkly hilarious and heart-wrenching, PARASITE showcases a modern master at the top of his game.
Look. A trailer where I have a sense of the tone of the film but no idea of what the whole story is! Wow that’s different from every trailer these days
Sort of Slice of Life, and Comedy, with thriller, with Drama with little Heart Broken

I agree with you
@@nicolepasalagua9779 well I feel sorry for you needing to be spoon-fed every major plot turn, culmination and otherwise story relevant detail into a cohesive more or less chronological manner to be able to tell if a movie is worth watching.
Nicole Pasalagua Trailers are supposed to not spoil the story😬 I think you’re posting this negative comment bc you haven’t seen this masterpiece yet
Nicole Pasalagua but that’s what you want, a trailer that tells you the story removes the reason to go see it.
It is a LITTLE too obscure yes, but I can see it has horror themes, it’s about a family and the family members lives, and evidently there is something nefarious about the whole situation.
But Hollywood trailers a lot of the time tell you the whole story. Why bother seeing the movie
This trailer is so much better after watching the film. Some shots that look tense are actually hilarious. Some shots that make no sense are actually the most nerve-wracking. And it still doesn’t spoil anything for anyone interested in the movie!
exactly what i was thinking!!!
I’m totally agree with you!

"It's a funny and scary movie" - Bong Joon Ho

these shots are glorious! definitely living up to its cannes hype!
These shots are awful. They look like the director decided to use 16:9 framed shots and make it 2.85:1 last minute by just putting black bars on it
@@ukaszpolak2606 It's all intended.
I can't go into details because I think it'll be a spoiler, but think of it as an attempt to capture multiple characters in a single scene.
I think it was a great attempt to reduce the size of the scene in the second half, reflecting the changing atmosphere.
You can watch it on Kissasian, i saw it today and wow it was really something. Not giving anything away but the trailer doesnt give away really anything, also its tense as all hell throughout.
@@ukaszpolak2606 you don't know what you are talking about. Watch the film you will know.
The cinematography was amazing in this film
It's not just a movie - it's an experience.
really? is it actually good
Holy shit, I just finished watching this movie, and I’m blown away. Literally me and everyone else in the theater watched the film with our jaws dropped in shock, and even after the credits started rolling, we just sat for a few minutes. I think we all walked out with a little trauma. People were not kidding about going in blind. Some movies are still good even after you know what’s going to happen. Not this movie. Even the poster sort of gives away too much. Knowing too much would’ve made the experience much, much worse in my opinion. If you think I’m talking out of my ass, that’s fine, but at the moment the movie has 99% rotten tomatoes rating, 8.5 IMDb rating, and it won the Palme d’Or, the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival, by unanimous vote, which hasn’t happened since 2013. So at least take their words over mine, and go see the movie!!!

On the final day of Cannes, I waited over 2 hours in line out in the blazing sun for its last screening, only a few hours before its Palme d'Or win.
The wait was well worth it, and it is one of the most memorable theater experiences I’ve ever had.
Over the course of 3 days at the fest, I saw 9 films, and "Parasite" is the best film of 2019 so far.
Did u see the lighthouse??
Anirudh A Even getting to the “Parasite” screening wasn’t that easy. I was originally going to see another movie right before “Parasite” at the same theater, but as people started entering the theater, I noticed some were staying in the line, letting others pass by. I could tell those people staying were actually waiting for “Parasite” just in case the line gets very long, so I decided to wait as well.

@@VillemarMxO What's with Hollywood hate?
I've already watched Parasite, it was nothing special, people overhyped because it won the Palme d'Or.
@@drsoe08 Who said anything about hate? To elaborate on what I meant by "Hollywood will learn nothing from this" in response to the OP, is that the major studios will only release film with a known IP (a brand, a franchise, a remake, a prequel, a sequel, etc.) that will guarantee a minimum of $200+ million at the back end after domestic and international box office returns. A sure thing. They won't take a risk on anything new or unique much less a foreign film. Whether you liked or disliked Parasite won't change anything. Whether I like or dislike IP/franchise films is irrelevant. It's all about the $$$ when it comes to studio releases. These things have all been greenlit for the next five years or so, so if the public's tastes change it won't affect anything for a long time, and there's no indication tastes will change. There would have to be a major cultural shift in tastes and the last time that happened was in the mid-late '90's with the Indiewave boom. And even then, there were plenty of big budget blockbuster films to see.
This movie is unpredictable-which makes it even more outstanding. 10/10!!

I've had to write a lot of papers analyzing films and what I meant by this one being studied in films schools is that it has a lot of things to analyze and break down. Especially taking into consideration that not a lot of Korean films make such an impact in the US as this one has. It's a shame that not a lot of foreign films are brought to the US as wide releases (except for on Netflix). Having taken two years of film history classes, I can say that this film fits similar criteria in what it takes to be considered into being taught and analyzed in those classes. @@imgonnabeastar23 there is one horror part
The first trailer ever that i didn't get a single clue about the movie.
Even after watching many times.
Watched this a week ago. Every frame is masterfully done. You can feel the passion of the people who created this movie while watching.
i was so lucky i didnt even watch this trailer; and watched this thing entirely blind. if youre and havent watched the trailer i would even advise not to.
E B I did the same thing no trailer what so over and omg best movie 2019
I had recently watched Memories of Murder when the trailer of Parasite cropped up in my RUclips recommendations.
I decided to give it a shot and boy was I shocked by the sheer brilliance of the movie.
It is easily in my top 5 movies of all time.
Just finished it.
Im really shocked how the director managed to twist the story gracefully.
Im impressed
nobody where did you watch it??
This movie is awesome, I catched it yesterday at a local festival, so different of everything you've seen these days. Try to catch it won't regret. 😲
Why is it that I can watch South Korean movies so many times in a row and still want to watch them again? I’ve seen Train to Busan 5 times so far and I want to watch it again. There’s something about them that I can’t explain but it makes you want to watch them again and again
Have you ever seen the Korea movies "Memories Of Murder" and "Old Boy"?
How about those movies?
even though i already watched the movie, i can’t stop watching the trailer for some reason
Just a really well made trailer.
It's just perfect
name checks out ;P
@@AE-ee6mg Plut it is addicting honestly.
Granted
Bong Joon-ho's masterful ability to mesh the horrifying and the absurd is truly inspiring.
Congratulations to Parasite for winning Best Picture. Well deserved.
Kang-Ho Song really has one of the best faces in cinema
45 minutes into it I already knew this was one of the best films I've ever seen. Even after 24 hours I can't stop thinking about it.
After watching Parasite, I'm on to marathon-ing all Director Bong Joon-ho's work. I can't think of a word to describe his films. He's a master of his craft. 💯💯💯
This movie was amazing! So so so good. It's got the right amount of suspense and comedy. And the trailer really gives nothing away. I went into the movie expecting one thing but the plot reveals another. The screenplay was amazing too. Absolutely loved it.
If you are reading this, don't watch this trailer. Go watch the Korean one. It spoils nothing, whereas this trailer spoils alot, and if I had watched it before seeing the film, it would have seriously lessened my viewing experience.
Too late :(
Shit!
it doesn't spoil much. If you haven't seen the movie you won't get the spoilers you think it spoils it because you've seen it.
Not really. It spoils....almost nothing.
Just watched this trailer.
I'm still wondering what the film is about.
RIP. Tragic news about Lee Sun Kyun, incredible actor and an incredible movie
Wow, I just had to leave my comment on this one. Movie is ~2h 7 mins long and usually when movies are over 1.5 hours Ill take a break for a cig and to take snacks/drink in the middle etc, but on this one, I couldn't, because I wanted to know what happens next and the end just jaw dropping for real. Masterpiece. 10/10.
what is this, am i feeling a slight goosebump of excitement watching this? Touché, although this South Korean director is among the top 10 alive right now if you ask me.
The best option is to see a movie first, then a trailer! That order is like a cherry on the top of the cake! 🍒
*THIS IS A MUST WATCH FILM, THE FILM REALLY DESERVES THE HIGHEST AWARD IN CANNES!*
The hype is REAL. Just go see it.
Everybody who came here to watch this trailer back in 2020 should agree that We're just checking where parasite is available on OTT after it just won best picture being the first foreign film to do so and Out Of Blue Covid broke out and we watched it later alone or with our Fam at our homes and later after that nerdwriter and other analysis videos on greatness of this movie and It stayed with lot of us in that one year of Covid and many grew up 2 years just simply being in their homes along with Parasite's IMDB and Letterboxd ratings, I mean Parasite made many film viewers watch an Oscar film for rhe first time in their life considering those boring covid times especially the ones Whose minds are prefixed with a myth that Oscar films are boring and It made them all feel wrong after being amazed by this Bong Joon Ho's Masterclass.
In those isolation times, Parasite is definitely special to the whole world itself. Thanks BJH ❤️
Perfect definition of “Tragic Comedy”
