😁😁 Thanks so much! Terrifies us also haha. Really appreciate your kind comment and support though. It is a major leap for us. If we fail then we will come back home with our tail between our legs and look for work. Either way we will have a good story to tell! Thanks again for commenting and watching our videos!
@ there is no failing. I’d say just trying it is a win. I’m 55 and teach at a college. I would love to do what you’re doing but I’m too chicken. I have about 7 years left and feel like I need as much retirement as possible since I’m single/no kids. Totally chicken. I think you are going to love this and won’t regret it. You’d regret it if you didn’t try. Others are doing it. You can totally do this, and what an experience for the kids!
Interesting coincidence that I’ve also been thinking of moving to Spain and just started following your channel a few weeks ago. My wife and I are 35 and we have a three year-old kid. I’ve estimated my expenses in Spain to be $9k a month including private school and we should be able to cover that at 4% SWR but still can’t bring myself to take the plunge. A big concern of mine is the tax situation in Spain, which threatens to erode a pretty big part of the income we’re able to generate. I’m excited to follow along and learn more about your experience moving there.
Wow! What a crazy coincidence! Thanks for commenting and following along. The school we found is a bit unique. It supports nomadic families and allows you to move locations or stay every semester. Also seems like an amazing experience for the kids. So we will try it for 3 months. Then probably try out a different location. Either way we will learn a ton. Happy to pass along any info! Thanks again for following along.
Wow! You guys are so brave. I always thought I would have to win the lottery if I wanted to move to another country, but you actually make it sound possible. Wishing your family success in your move to Spain!
Thanks so much! As far as the money goes it is a huge risk for us. Hopefully with a little luck and tons of hard work all the chips fall into place. If not we will be back home looking for work. Really appreciate your comment and support!
David, gutsy for sure! We will have a story to tell if we fail and a better story to tell if we succeed. Thanks again for always watching and commenting. We look forward to having you see our journey!
The school we found for the kids lets you move locations every 90 days. Instead of applying for a visa this go around we are going to test it out for this first semester. In the spring we head to Indonesia for 3 months. After that we will reassess to see if we want to apply for the visa. Have you applied for a Visa in Spain? I hear they are not terribly difficult if you have the w2 income they require.
@ I have done it and it is a little more complicated in regard to income, medical insurance and of course the US tax implications. So I gather you don’t have a resident permit at this point which is why you’re only staying the 90 days to start with?
@@dreamrider2126 You are more experienced than we are when it comes to the visa stuff for sure! Yes, we are correct. Just dipping our toe in the water to start.
I hope the best for you , but it`s a very hard thing your trying to do without a load of cash reserves , firstly with the visas , they don`t cost much but it`s annoying , secondly even though your moving to Europe as American Citizens you are still required to pay taxes in the USA even though no longer living there and your online Gym training may not function anymore with your USA clients because of the timezone difference , your language skills are not at the level where you can get good employment and your wifes nurse credentials may not be recognised in Europe , Spain has pretty high unemployment at the moment , but as your not overly old you may still be able to retrain Tradesmen are still in high demand , Plumbers , electricians or such , The great thing is in Europe you will pay less in Health insurance once you get a job also we have 6 weeks paid holidays here in Europe ,
Awesome! Will love to follow along on your adventure!
Yay 🙌 Thanks so much for watching, commenting and supporting. Moving abroad is going to be a wild experience for us.
Whoa. This terrifies me. I’m so glad I get to watch you do it! 🤣🤣. I’ll be jealous and inspired on the sidelines! It really does sound fantastic.

Thank you so much! Should be a wild journey.
Congratulations! Looking forward to the info as it's something we have considered as well!
Awesome! Thanks for the support. The school we found is what gave us the push for the kids. We will put out more info on it.

Such a kind comment! Thanks so much! Appreciate the support.
What sort of visa did you get to allow you all to live there?

I moved to Spain in 2018 from Texas and now live in Castellón. Where are you guys?
Wow! Amazing. Thanks so much for commenting! We will be outside of Málaga. How do you like living Spain!?
