    My husband and I just got back from a cruisetour in Hawaii. Although expensive, we learned so much from the tour about the history, language, and culture of the Hawaiian people. Took several small group or individual tours with amazing guides who shared so many stories. We felt great about supporting the local community and are in love with these most beautiful people and islands. Although it is the 50th state, it feels like a different country! Don’t miss Hawaii!

      Hawaii is such a gem! I agree with it feeling like a different country. Really cool that you got out there and experienced the culture through the locals. Appreciate your insight and comment! Thanks for being a part of our travel community!

    Great suggestions! As full time slow nomads, we’ve been thinking a lot lately about responsible tourism and how to connect more with our local environments. You’ve given us some inspiration!

      That means a ton! Full time slow nomads is an amazing way of life. Congrats on being able to commit and pull it off. Where are you exploring now? We just left home for a 6 month trip. Appreciate the kind words!

      We’re currently in Buenos Aires which is beautiful but very expensive right now - closer to US prices. So we’ve had to adjust our travel plans in order to stay closer to our budget. Next, we’re heading to Panama, Mexico (our home base), Italy, Montenegro, and Japan. It’s going to be a busy year!

      @@agasque Buenos Aires is a possibility for us next year. Bummer that it is expensive! Montenegro should be a blast. As full time nomads I am curious to see what you will think of the prices in Japan. We found it very reasonable if you venture outside of the major cities and look for deals. Obviously you can get really expensive things if you want. Really appreciate the comment and insight!

    I`m a solo traveller and i enjoy the freedom it gives me to do what i like when i want , if a get to a place and i want to stay longer than planned then i can , without a travelling companion complaining and annoying me , though a travel buddy is great when travelling to watch your bags if you want to sleep on a long airport stayover or to make things cheaper by splitting a room cost , i just prefer solo , I have been all around the world Solo , doing things like Hiking into Agua Calientes along the railroad tracks , A week long boat trip from Manaus to Tabitinga sleeping in a hammock , the Holi festival in Vrindavan , night busses to places like Tam Coc and Salar Dy Uyuni , Night trains to Dehli and Bangkok , , my last Solo Journey was in January this year with a hike up to Gorak Shep and at 58 i am still going strong ,

      That boat trip sounds amazing. Night trains in Dehli and Bangkok had to be a great experience. 58 and going strong for sure! Love it. Appreciate you always watching and commenting on our videos Gareth. Hope you have some great trips planned for 2025. ✈️

      I love solo traveling too. I am adaptable and spontaneous when I want and lazy when I want and can stay gone longer.

    My wife and I have really enjoyed small tours with locals. In our travels to Europe and England it’s local people not "indigenous" but the guides really take pride in their areas and enjoy introducing them. It’s even better if you can do the tour in their language. We have also traveled extensively by train. It’s far more enjoyable than air travel. On our last trip to Italy we took 40 trains! Of course most of those were short local routes. We also took a sleeper train from Italy to Switzerland. My wife slept fine, but I couldn’t sleep. Not sure I will try that again.

      David! Appreciate you my friend. Nothing like a great guide right? We have had some very passionate guides in the EU also. We are due for some good train travel. 40 trains! Wow, that is amazing. I have heard mixed reviews about sleeper trains. Definitely want to give it a try, but not sleeping during travel is the worst. Thanks again for always showing up! Means a ton.

      @ We were there for 3 weeks so even 1 round trip per day adds up to a lot of trains. We did 6 train trips during one day.

    Can you share the information of your private tour in the slot canyons? It's on my bucket list. Thanks.

      Holly, it was two years ago so I am having trouble finding the contact. I just tried to dig up an old email or booking, but could not find it. I'll look a little deeper and see if I can find something. It was worth it for sure!

    I'm in Japan right now and the trains are great but you almost need a guide just for some of the train stations. Got lost in Shinjuku station ever single time haha.

      Very jealous of you being in Japan right now. Definitely one of our most favorite places we have visited. Haha yes that Shinjuku station can be confusing. Even with internet a phone and google! We found locals to be very helpful when we asked for assistance. Enjoy your time there!

    Very original and entertaining content! The big puzzle as another commented is finding it! How can you find some interesting destinations/tours without spending a gazillion hours online?

    • @JustBookedIt
      @JustBookedIt  10 дней назад

      Thank you so much! Yes I agree the hardest part is finding these destinations/tours. I will try to put together a video on that. Aside from scouring in internet the only other thing that will save you time is talking to as many locals as you can when you are at your destination. I know this is challenging with language in certain areas. Time is also hard because if you have 5 days it is hard to meet people and schedule a tour, but one thing can lead to another very quickly if you find a few friendly locals! Appreciate the thoughtful comment!

    Sounds wonderful but how do you find some of these kinds of adventures?

    • @JustBookedIt
      @JustBookedIt  16 дней назад +1

      That can be one of the hardest pieces to the puzzle. Here are a few ideas.
      -Deep dives on the internet. (Forums like reddit)
      -Being open to making new friends while you are there. Some tours we found out about on other tours or in coffee shops.
      -Subscribe to a few travel newsletters. The good ones are doing research to bring you great ideas.
      Hope this helps! Thanks for watching our video.
