My Dude!!!! I have been using Studio Library for years and I have never thought to use it to recover an animation sequence in the way mentioned. I use Animbot for recovery but sometimes it doesn't load correctly. WOW! This would have saved so much time while working remote. Thanks Sir Wade.
I’ve been using Studio Library in Maya for the last year or so. For game work its great for sharing pose and animation assets with other motion artist on the team. We end up with hundreds of various poses that need to be consistent across the various move sets. Great video and I’ll second the recommendation for this useful tool!
I'm just starting to get into character animation, so this video was very timely. I use Blender and I didn't know it had a pose library until you mentioned it, so it's definitely something that I shall be exploring.
Would you recommend using a pose library at AM from towards the later modules like advance body mechanics onwards? So like for an example one would get used to the rig controls/nurb circles etc in the earlier modules? Really excited to start my retraining at am in the summer (was a 3d modeler for like 6 years😅) and was just making sure i wasn't going to do anything to advance early on lol
Perfect video. Thanks for that. I'd like to add something. Insted of trying match the pose by moving the camera and clicking at the preview part, you can click on the square icon and this will open a pop up wich can give you more control to your preview. Also, one more thing, at the animation stuff, you can save only the frames selected if you want it
Finally happy to be far enough on with animation to start using this! Do you know if hte Paid Rigs subscription you reviewed back comes with a pose library that would be compatible with this? Was going to try a 1 year subscription and it would be great if this worked with it.
That’s a good question! I don’t think they have a pose library pre set up for those rigs; I know they have pickers though. They’ll definitely work with it, but you’d have to make your own poses for now
Thanks for the video but I had a problem right away, when I save a pose it does not shows up in the menu, I have the pose in my folder but not in maya in the studio library plugin
I created a mirror table but when i mirror any poses i make, it indeed does mirror them but scrambles the poses a bit, moving one leg too far or rotating a foot i did not rotate in the initial pose. Why does it do that? Did i make a mistake

Why can't I apply saved pose? When I move or rotate IK controls everything is working. But if I try to apply saved pose only values in channel box are being changed while mesh stays in the same position. I am total newbie in this, probably missed something but can't figure out what exactly
Sounds like a display bug if the values are updating properly and maybe the controls are moving but the mesh isn’t updating? Try going to animation preferences and setting evaluation mode to DG instead of Parallel to see if that helps
@@SirWade Thanks for the reply. It turns out poses don't work when IK Bent T or R is set to 0. If I set all of them (the control rig) to 1, poses are working, but mesh starts to move weirdly and becomes a mess. I even have no idea what those IK Bent T or R are for. I have also tried to save poses when moving only rig bones before creating IK; in this case, it kind of works, but it saves only one of the bones positions, not all of them, and when I create a thumbnail, my pose resets to the original. Changing evaluation mode to DG didn't change anything. One more clue I have mentioned on tutorials: people have red rectangles at Translate, Rotate, Scale XYZ Visibility, etc., in Channel box but mine are grey. Why is that?

Apparently the latest version of Studio Library 2.9.11 does not work with referenced rigs. At least that's what some users are experiencing. Any ideas?
Would have been better if he also showed/learned the Blender workflow also. Who's really learning Maya these days?... The fact that such an overly used free plug-in for Maya hasn't been incorporated after so many years should tell you a lot.
This isn't really anything new I mean I think I saw adobe Flash using or having something like this. In there first graphic software for creating ads! Not saying that there the first to this idea just saying this feature isn't anything new maybe a more advance version of it and for 3d but the idea was there way before 3d was even a thing and i don't who or where it came from first and maybe someone can tell me.
