Flaming Lips are still as amazing as when I saw them 20+ years ago for the first time. Saw them this month in an intimate outdoor show at Avondale Brewery (4/23/24). Flaming Lips fans are the best too, super kind and appreciative. This show had exceptional sound.
Music is my religion and concerts are my church and in Omaha NE (Steel House)I realized ,though I have been to several concerts since the 90's and 2000's , I own a venue as well and have seen some very, very cool shows in the last year,.... it's been a long time since I've been to "church". Thank you The Flaming Lips" For a realization and much more.
@@StratsRUs It's just a word. It means nothing more than ritual. Music is my ritual that brings to something better. The words i chose were layman's terms. A reference point. Even atheists have religion by definition. Strats are cool, Tele is where it's at but apples and oranges are both fruits.
My wife knows that Sundays are reserved for "The Church Of Music" and to never ask me to turn down the volume or do anything else. I saw the Flaming Lips Sunday night in Kansas City and was utterly blown away. I was primarliy going for the visuals, but encoutered a shamnic, powerful, fun, uplifiting and very tribal evening. I'd never been a huge fan of their music - I liked them as much as anyone else - but after seeing them live - wow. I have a newfound apprecation and respect for the The Flaming Lips.
Did you happen to capture the 2nd portion of this show?? Saw them in New Mexico last week, but had to leave early so missed the last part of the 2nd half...just curious. Thanks for this!!
