great video dude!!! - does this have to be always on? You'd have to turn on the R-pi separately from the TV right? you can't everything power on when you turn on your TV?
@@TheTechSamurai hey man. I have it connected to my xbox x but for some reason it doesn't show image on my tv when the capture card is on and/or the splitter. Did you counter any issues like that
Yeah anything heavy 4k you'll need a more expensive splitter/switcher. I upgraded to this for my ps5, little pricey but its hard to find a good one that will still send 1080p to the capture card while doing 4k www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B083K39RHF?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
@@TheTechSamurai I have heard that hdmi splitter sends same output that is if it's 4k cable device then both will get 4k and if one device is 4k and another is 1080p then it will take the lowest 1080 and display on both. In this case it's a 1080 p capture card. How come you are getting 4k for tv and 1080p for capture card?

Are you powering the capture with its own adapter and is hyperion the only thing you're running on the pi? Could be a power issue or compatibility issue with the pi
Will this project work with a 2 in X 4 out 4K HDMI splitter? 2 inputs for fire cube/stick and gaming console. 3 outputs for fire cube/stick, gaming console (both going into tv) and capture card.
No reason it shouldn't, concept is the same... just need to be sure the hdcp handshake from the tv passes along to the other ports. If you ordered the splitter off of Amazon or intend to, the Q&A section sometimes has someone asking if the splitter does remove the hdcp. If you mean hdmi switch it may be different but could probably be worked around by putting a splitter like the one in the video in front of it.
