@@DymonBeats Facts. You can always tell there’s magic to a beat that was created from scratch versus a loop with drums. I’ve heard amazing work done with loops. But there is a subtle difference between the “instrumental” sound of a loop versus the original sound of a beat made from scratch. Loops can feel and sound like instrumentals that we’ve all heard before. But I’m not knocking loop makers, but manipulate the loops, change them and play over them if you’re gonna use them.

BIG FACT = Making beats without using the kick drum is what producers do when A. The 808 that they are using has a good enough transient that it punches through without a kick. (Less is more.) and B. We do not use the kick when we want to emphasize the bass of the 808. For example, sometimes i want my 808 to be my loudest low frequency in some beats and when I do that it doesn't makes sense to add a kick just to have it hitting at a lower volume than the 808 that I want to shine the most. Some beats need the 808 to hit harder than everything and it is these beats that do not require kicks unless you want make your kickdrum volume lower than the 808 and stack it underneath but that would be pointless if you emphasized the 808 in a prevalent way.

Artist's could still use these services to give content to fans, experiement and leak songs that were requested on forums and their socials. Yo 8:40 is a great question and I love the response from Sonny Digital. I'm just getting started, and that's a frequent question in my head that I struggle with, which is how to stand out and whether or not producing beats can really be that lucrative with so many beats out there nowadays. I write my melodies and chord progressions from scratch, and it's inspiring to hear there are some established producers and artists that appreciate the time, work, and skill to produce original melodies and progressions and not just throwing loops together.

everybody work how he wants at the moment it makes him happy and it gives him money. Focus on yourself and dont compare to other people... just compare to the better version of yourself. you know how people who are not artists & producers/beatmakers so you dont have to think to them. The problem since 1/2/3 years is many people want to walk on people with social networks and the ones who dont want to have the last word are the more clever. You know what is your value so focus on yourself and people who make you involve in real life.

Since I typically serve the Artist Community as a Producer, I really liked Sonny's idea of bringing mixtapes back as a way for artists to experiment and get heard (especially if they are coming up). I think singles could also work like this. Singles as just SONGS that won't appear on an album. It also allows artists to drop consistent content, test what sound works, etc. Definitely would love to hear a new mixtape fr. #KMakesBeats

Imagine if Loopmakers lockin with a

Imagine the work you can do if you stay on pt ,
not only selling a loop or beat for a placement
but a package of beats for a mixtape/album,
    with mixing and mastering included.
    (All-in-1 price package)
If so mixtapes could fire back up
& albums would in the works or already be done if you plan
and lock in and cook/record as scheduled
with that (All-in-1 price package) tho feel me
    Then like Sonny Digital said
mixtapes should come back and artists should drop more.

  • @DodgaOfficial
    @DodgaOfficial 2 года назад +5

Nowadays it's just too easy to make beats, which makes it hard to be seen. There's an opportunity there though, because when there's an entire ocean of white, being blue or some other color stands out alot, so if you can differentiate yourself, you can really stand out above the crowd. So many people are making the same old shit and people are thirsty for something original, the hardest part is to get someone to give you a listen, if you can accomplish that and can deliver when they do actually give you a listen, you are golden. Be your own worst critic, improve your weaknesses, listen to other genres to expand your musical palette. Timbaland was killing it with those Indian style vibes, his beats were iconic because they had their own flavor. If you're just trying to make beats that sound like someone else, you're doing it wrong. Take inspiration, don't bite the style.

I like making from scratch and using loops I just like to create it’s still. Fun regardless of the method but just try to make sure I don’t do one more than the other and stay fluid

Cookin up from scratch just fun bruh, it’s a way of art no doubt , do it cause it’s more creative that’s what should be drivin n if it sounds good. If you go by that then no one gonna care if you are using loops, an mpc , fl or any other daw; make it sound good n use your ears💪🐐

DISCLAIMER: "It's not that am a super producer yet!" , but out of instinct I started with Busy Works Beats Music Theory Training, made one beat after another. Beats sounded like shit at first I did not like the sound of my beats the first 2 years. But I knew how I wanted it to sound. The last couple of months I have begun to get a sound I really love. Am not into the type beat world. I wanna go big find a beginning artist and work with em get to the scene together because am not there yet, but as Sonny say, when you tried seeing it from the perspective of an artist your beatmaking changes, I tried rap/singing to my beats as well and yes, it changed the way I make beats now. I really have a good & fun time making beats, it's the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think about when I go to sleep. There is nothing but, scale keys, chords, motifs and themes. I thought I wanted to learn every aspect of beat making before I began to use loops. I made loops for others though even though I dont do loop packs.I am not against anyone because they use loops I dont see them as bad or anything, so dont get me misunderstood. To all you people on Team Producergrind, I love what you do! Your interviews is golden. @roger-out

I really don’t see how any drum could hit hit harder based on the device MONITORING it. I really feel it has to do with velocity and input gain.

Loops became popular when it became easier to get placements sending loops. In my opinion the loop maker is doing more work than the guy just adding drums but they have the network so it’s a give and take thing. Most of the time the guy adding drums doesn’t have the same vision for the loop so I do my own drums. One dude was like man don’t send me this simple ass loop. Not knowing that’s the shit that get placed.

About kicks: put a transient designer in the middle frequencies of an 808 and boom you got "kick" control (I use Kilohertz Multipass for this)
