Going to have to try this on my hood/bonnet I have too much patina on my hood and I need to fix that rust before it blows all the way through

Actually rust the rest of it by sanding back to bare metal and then pour bear and salt on it

Hi! Cool rat videos you're making! ... Well, I'm new to doing such myself so I wonder, does the selection of grit matter much when going for rat sanding, or may I grab like any sandpaper I got at home and just sand until I'm satisfied with the depth?

solvebring hi thanks for watching I always like to think that is what you make it and I don't see why you can't use any old sandpaper as long as you get the results you want it's win win!

The Ginger Mechanic Okay. Thanks for answering. Do you think whatever will do; that I should just experiment and find my way?

solvebring I would say to experiment and have a play yourself you never know you might find it works amazing at the end of the day it's about your input and hard work that will make something unique

nice try with the DUST mask lol it will do little to save you from paint FUMES. at least youre outside...
good video tho, im going to use some of your technique

ive seen where people ((flik)) speckles of red on so it lands as raised dots, when you sand it it gives you a different reveal. just let it fully dry like you said and the raised parts will sand first and simulate spots of rust.
