I've been attempting to get into fashion illustration for awhile now (more as a hobby) i've read some books and watched tutorials but found nothing quite like you. You really are an amazing teacher. Things just make so much sense after watching your videos. I cant wait to buy this book you keep talking of Make sure you tell us when its available and again thank you thank you thank you. Im not very good at art and due to difficulties i never had a chance to do basics at school but i believe its never too late to learn things and i love and am so grateful that you and your videos are helping me to improve my art and take joy and excitement in being creative. I can use this as an outlet a positive outlet and i would try and try and just get sadder and angrier at myself, but thanks to you i see improvements, im learning and loving..

Hi there, LOVE you for what your are doing with total dedication in your kind of a way which is genuine and refreshing. Not to serious matter ,you repeatedly reinforce and emphasis on looking your Swatches , studying your swatches to figure out how it will create trills, how it will create contrast of light and dark (shadows) etc . to me it is really a challenge so could you show us a live demonstration in your next video ..it will be great help. Hi Zoe, love your channel! Would you use the same technique as you did for the second knit with the watercolour pencils to render velvet? Or do you have any tips? I'm trying to render this shiny velvet boots, but want the light fuzziness of the velvet to show so it doesn't look like shiny satin... Thanks!
+Noura Mokhtar Thanks! For velvet, I would watch my shiny fabrics video for the section on "soft shine" and use charcoal pencil instead of colored pencil to that that fuzzy texture.

+kris mc Thanks for the compliments! I don't really understand your question. To my understanding, appliqués are decorative patches made of fabrics or beads and can be all kinds of sizes, textures, colors, etc., and then sewn onto garments, but appliqués are not a fabric by themselves.

I guess what I would like to learn is how to render layers of transparent fabrics and how to use lights and darks in the sketch to still show details (embroidery/sequins/patches) on the figure. With paint only, I would stipple layers of slightly different shades of the same color.
