    The paper towel dowel was a serious aha! moment for me. Makes the whole thing more practical, and understandable. Thank you!

    You speak my language... I love puns too 🙌 as someone who is trying to teach myself how to sew and draw fashion sketches, you make it easy peasy to learn. I wanted to go to school for fashion design but there aren't any schools in Alberta to take for it, so I'm going the self teaching route. It really helps when the person your trying to learn from is really good at making things make sense. Not everyone has that ability. I appreciate you 🙏

    The foreshortening tip with the cardboard dowel thing is so excellent. I've never heard that before and I have watched a *lot* of drawing videos.

    I have come across many videos of wrapping clothes..since this one makes me understand clear enuf..

  • @chelseaennaki4684
    @chelseaennaki4684 7 лет назад +4

    I know this was more about drawing the clothing over a body but this legit helped me with drawing the croquis. This is the first time ever I've been able to draw a croquis/human figure from my imagination that isn't just standing straight. The 'ellipses' way of thinking about it was a game changer. Super simple and effective. It's like I've always overthought it in the past. Thank you!

    • @zoehongteaches
      @zoehongteaches  7 лет назад

      This is why this is always the first step I show people when teaching how to draw clothes--the ellipses help people understand the body's movement better as well as figuring out how clothes wrap around limbs. Glad you found this helpful!

    Thank you so much for your videos! It's always a struggle to find videos that are both knowledgable and super in-depth on how to understand clothing. You can find so many tutorials on how to draw bodies, which is great, but I dont want to draw naked figures in my work 😅 It's extremely annoying when I can draw accurate anatomy but cardboard clothing ughh it just looks WRONG lol 😅😅 You seriously saved my life! I am 58 years old and fashion design always was a dream for me. I have to have an early retirement for health reason and this is my time now. I want sew for my daughter my grandchildren my son-in-law and myself only but I want look like a "pro" just for own fun and as you know I must do my design before any thing... I never was able to made it. I never new what you are teaching and I have to tell you that it is very hard for me to concentred in any thing because of my ADHD and you are so interesting to me that I spend hours on my laptop just looking at each and every of your videos.
