I love your wry smile as you make this Japanese spaghetti, and I also love the fact that Italians would have a nervous melt-down over watching this preparation of a dish that they consider their own.
Such good knife skills Nao! I'm going to be honest: before this video, there was no way I would try this. I absolutely hate ketchup because of its sweet and sour flavor. It's so far away from being a tomato.😆However you said you cook the sour out of it; that might change everything for me. Now, I'm going to try it. But after Christmas because there's too much food everywhere right now. I've eaten too much already.🤢Thank you for this great cooking lesson! I would really love to see more of these videos too as the only Japanese food I'm able to try is the food I cook myself. Authentic instruction is always appreciated.
Italians would call sushi something that Japanese have never seen before sushi, so there is no problem. Incidentally, American sushi and teriyaki sauce are also completely unknown to the Japanese.
I can understand why Italians may be shocked and appalled by Napolitan Spaghetti, but it doesn't look too bad. If you didn't tell anyone about the ketchup it seems like they may not notice its there.
Its because pasta is very few ingrediants once u chance one u change a large portion of what that dish is also to italians ketchup is a complete waste of tamatoes
Yeah, one portion in Japan is not enough for some people😲 I think you can order a large size🙌 may still not be enough, though!haha Thank you for watching another video😊
The reason why Italians don't like is its to sweet due to the ketchup having a much higher concentration of sugar than crushed tomatoes lack of seasoning especially herbs apart from the onions and sauce lacks acidity but it make sense why they used ketchup due limited access of fresh food after the war. Also don't think of California rolls as sushi just think of them of sliced おにぎり then it should be okay. Will get to try very soon in September along with 納豆
Thank you for watching again and for your explanation!😃 I can't see California rolls as おにぎり...😆 Natto with sushi? I like it. You can also taste Natto with spaghetti in Japan😂
The milk is weird, but ok, I guess... As for the ketchup, it depends on the ketchup itself. Is it closer to tomato concentrate, or closer to sweet tomato jam?
I think Italians have an issue because of the name. Neapolitan means from Naples, and Italians are like that's not how they make spaghetti in any part of Italy let alone Naples.
First off, disappointed and "outraged" are not the same. It's likely they were disappointed. If the media in Japan reports it as "outraged" that's just media hype (click bait). Likewise, if you go to a cheap restaurant (anywhere) and expect authentic cuisine YOU are making a mistake. If you want a quick and inexpensive meal, then don't worry about the name on the menu. Read what is in it then decide. Japanese "pizza" is also different than what most in the West expect. It doesn't "outrage" me. I just order something else. (^.-) On the other hand, Japanese McDonald's is better! And the toys in the "Happy Meals" are MUCH better (bring home to the kids of friends and be a hero). Short Version: Media Hype = Nonsense
Thank you for watching and for your advice😁Yeah, disappointed could be the better word! I didn't know Pizza in Japan was different from Western ones though🤣I know only Japanese put pineapples on it though!haha McDonald's Toy is my favorite when I was young...Nostalgic😚
Having heard Italian express their opinions on food, and I don't think "outraged" is a stretch. 😆They get mad about the way _Italian Americans_ make pasta, and it's far closer to their way than this.

Are you left-handed! Well, your spaghetti 🍝 😋 look so yummy . I have my Japanese trip plans...air-conditioned all the time.
Thank you for watching again.😊 I'm right-handed😂. Yes, it's so hot now. You need it all day long🙄
Nao 👋What, how about the earthquake? I gonna arrive in a few (really few) days.
Such good knife skills Nao!

Thank you for watching.😄I've never eaten Teriyaki Sauce something in Japan.😂As long as they enjoy the food, it's not bad though😘
I can understand why Italians may be shocked and appalled by Napolitan Spaghetti, but it doesn't look too bad. If you didn't tell anyone about the ketchup it seems like they may not notice its there.
Thank you for watching.😀 I believe they can notice ketchup🤣Anyway, it's so good😉

My wife's favorite dish..but the amount you get in Japan is little..have to order like three of them! hahaha
Yeah, one portion in Japan is not enough for some people😲 I think you can order a large size🙌 may still not be enough, though!haha
Thank you for watching another video😊
Looks very tasty and quick, but I think I would have to add some garlic
This is an American struggle meal😂 I love it
weeby sushi is the most accurate description of a california roll
Idk if I’m sold on ketchup in a pasta sauce, but it doesn’t look bad actually
Thank you for watching😉It's good so please try it someday if you haven't yet😋
