Have suffered from deliberating watery eye (blepharitis) for almost 10 years. Been to see 2 eye specialists multiple times who put me on all the conventional treatments several times, including antibiotics. Nothing worked and it was booked in for a DCR operation in a couple of months. On seeing this video I thought I would give a high quality omega 3 a try. 3 months on 2-3 grams of omega 3 did nothing for me. As a last resort I upped the omega 3 dose to 5 grams a day of the best quality oil I could find. After 60 days my watery eye symptoms had almost disappeared. I have been symptom free for 2 months now and am continuing on 5 grams of oil every day. High dose omega 3 have been life changing for me. Thank you for making this video!
That is amazing!! I’m glad you are feeling better. Thank you for sharing this with me and for the encouragement to keeping making videos even if it seems like nobody is watching.
@@pamelakaur4426 this is a good option, however you will have to take 2-3 doses per day to achieve the recommended dose b/c vegan capsules typically don't have as much omega in them. amzn.to/3PGCRmm
This worked for me immediately! I went to a cornea specialist and was diagnosed with dry eye. I went a second time and it was so severe he put a plug in my eye and prescribed some eye drops. I used 3 of these tablets and I can tell a difference same day! I can actually feel the oil in my eye and it’s helping my natural tears and eye drops from evaporating so soon. It’s worth every penny!
Hi Dr. Walley, I have been using the PRN De3 Supplements for over 2 years. It is by far one of the best supplements I take for my dry eye situation. I have never experienced fish burps with this product, the contents even have a citrus smell. I thought I might just take 2 to cut down on the cost of 3 per day, but the help these soft gels have given to the tear film in my meibomian glands has convinced me they are worth the cost. I would definitely recommend these to anyone struggling with dry issues.
That is great to hear! Thank you for letting me know. I don't think it would hurt if you tried cutting back to 2 a day and see if you notice a difference and if you do just go back to 3.
I actually get fish burps from taking the PRN De3. So the trick is to take them in the night right before going to bed. I don’t seem to get fish burps from Costco fish oil. But of course the Costco ones are much lower in omega 3.
I have Sjogrens with dry eyes and mouth… my eye Doc suggested a Product called “Thera Tears Nutrition”, an Omega 3 product. I’ve been taking it for about 10 years, it definitely has helped my eyes and my mouth.
omega-3 the supplements have done nothing for my severe dries. I have been taking them for years in megadoses I take 4 g a day and I get mine from Nordic naturals ultimate omega. It has all your Omega‘s in it and I trust Nordic naturals it’s one of the best. hopefully it’s working for others. Good luck.
I’m sorry to hear you are having such severe issues. Have you seen a functional medicine doctor to rule out any autoimmune or other chronic conditions that could be the root cause? Have you tried any dry eye procedures like IPL or RF? Nordic naturals is one of my favorite brands too.
Cold pressed hemp seed oil works for dry eyes as well as many other things. Omega 3, 6 & 9 in the correct ratio for optimum human health. 40 mls a day. Cheap and no burping.
The dosage you suggest to treat dry eyes is very, very expensive. Do I have to be earning $80,000 a year in order to cure my condition as you propose? If not, can you suggest a treatment that is affordable to most of us?
amzn.to/3qcHnzf this is a great one here that is reasonable. If you buy these once a month for a year at the price listed it would be $427.92 for the year.
I wouldn't recommend it, they typically don't use shellfish but I'm not sure how meticulous they are with cross contamination. I would recommend the Bragg brand hereamzn.to/3tOvCjR . The only trouble with Vegan Omega is you need to take more to hit the optimal dose.
Yes, that’s what I’m worried about too (cross contamination). I am willing to try the Bragg brand you suggested. I feel like it’s worth a try. Thanks so much! It’s greatly appreciated 😊
hi doc, I have mild cholesterol like on borderline but i suffer from very dry eyes i am planning to take the omega 3 will it affect my cholesterol are there any research for the same? Thankyou :)
I would check with your primary care doc just to be safe but in general the benefits of Omega 3 outweigh the risks. I have actually seen a drop in my cholesterol since taking them regularly but everyone is different.
Yes it can help to some degree but you may need a prescription drop like Cequa to help as well. I would also suggest following an autoimmune protocol, read the Wahl’s Protocol book for more info about that.
I have a severe dry eyes. I take omega 3, take tracolimus 0,03% 4x/day, take serum tears, take thealoz (1 tube per week) and Systane complete. I also take doxyciclin. Every years I do pulsate light or jet plasma. And stil my eyes are aking constantly :/
It sounds like you may have a systemic issue autoimmune or inflammatory condition in your body that is causing it. Severe dry eye can often be traced back to something else in the body. Have you ever seen a functional medicine doctor?
@@simonemdiniz I’d also suggest looking into Dr. Rolando Toyos he is a LASIK surgeon and dry eye specialist with clinics in New York, Nashville and Memphis. Yes liquid does tend to absorb better, some of it depends on your gut microbiome, etc. The best way to figure out what you need is to check your levels with an at home test like Omegaquant. If you are doing capsules but your levels are good according to the test you can keep taking capsules. If your levels aren't as good you may want to switch to liquid.
Hey Ben, thanks for the question! Omega 3 has the greatest effect on the lipid secretions from your oil glands. When your oil glands are not healthy they produce low quality oil that is sort of like the consistency of peanut butter. This low quality oil tends to get clogged up in the glands and can cause issues like styes and even cause the glands to slowly lose function. Omega 3 turns the lipid secretions into a smoother olive oil type consistency which easily expresses into the tear film when you blink which keeps your tears from evaporating too quickly and makes your eyes less dry.

If you are getting fish burps it could be that the oil has gone rancid. This can happen when they are exposed to heat sometimes in shipping.
