This is such great advice. Answering ANY police questions before you've spoken to a lawyer is a recipe for disaster. As Lance said, find a specialist criminal lawyer and do EXACTLY what they tell you to do. If you think you can't afford a specialist attorney, ask yourself if you can afford to have a criminal record or, even worse, if you can afford to spend time in prison.
I got detained for an investigation as police officer stated after confrontation at the bar. Following that I was provided a phone call to my lawyer who said that police was holding me for disturbance. At the end of detention I got accused of uttering threat against the person I haven't seen in more than a year . I was trying to get a help from a person who works at station but has different duty. I was shooting my mouth too much trying to provoke him to see his face. I guess they charge me due to the things I said while in the cell frustrated and miserable with other worries. I really do not know how police can operate this way without asking you a single question about incident while you detained and to press criminal charges at the end of their shift ?.
