At first I was like "oh no" when I saw both soles being separated, but since there was no dermatitis or anything lurking and you just filed them down, I was relieved.

Actually the red spot was bruising caused from the hoof being to thick in that spot.

It was natural shedding but it was likely going to be an issue before it finished.
