Yes this is the real intro to this song. This song comes from Demon Hunters first 2004 Album (Summer Of Darkness) track 9 and track 8 (Annihilate The Corrupt) outro however ends at a fast beat and it matches the intro beat to this song ( I Play Dead )
Also listen to the whole Summer Of Darkness album to understand why this song is the way it is.
Demon Hunter's first album was their self title album in 2002. Summer of Darkness was their second.
Yup that’s the intro. Flows a little better within the context of the album. The bridge I think highlighted the picking violin strings a bit which was a cool addition.
Song is over 20 years old. At the time it felt much more unique compared to anything they had ever done, specifically the ballad verses leading into the scream pre chorus.
One of my fav DH songs, it grew onto me, I am all about the cleans in the chorus, best part for sure.
I did a few comparisons to other versions and it's definitely the actual FULL intro on this version. I'm digging it. Even if it's short, it's sweet.
Awwww, first Demon Hunter song not rated 8 or above 😢. But hey, fair is fair. Stand alone, not their best song, but definitely fits into the album perfectly, in my humble opinion. Thank you for your honest opinion, good sir. I can tell how much you love them wanting to give a higher score, but again, fair is fair. You’re awesome for that. Keep on doin what you’re doin.
What stands out most about this song is it’s lyrical content. It changed the whole way one experiences the song to consider the depth of meaning in these lyrics.

This is definitely one of demon hunter’s more generic songs. The most interesting part is the transitions and the harmonies. I wish I could submit their more outstanding songs on your patreon but I have no money. Hope people start submitting Demon Hunter’s more stand-out songs
Overall I feel it's a decent song, though I feel in the bridge they repeated "I play dead" a few too many times, and cutting out the final 2 repeats would've made it flow better. Definitely not the worst song I've heard from them but also not the best. Chorus as a whole is pretty memorable though I'll give it that.

This is probably one of their lesser songs. Their first two albums while good they just really hit their stride after those ones. Anyway thank you for the video.
