You’re the farmer that we farmers come in after 16 hours of feeding, fencing, mechanicing, fixing, planting and mucking to watch as you push through all the same things. Ru edits both voice and video artfully and sweetly adds grace and joy to what can be hard and dreary work. Next to my farm, yours is the best (though I may be slightly biased)! Keep on keeping on. I’m guessing that, like me, you intend to die in your fields while talking intelligently with your animals, wellies, jacket and cap all neatly arranged. As far as I’m concerned whoever finds me can root through my pockets for my keys and use the backhoe to plant me deeply in the field where I can rest with the animals forever.
Sara abd Rufus I worked frontline in the ambulance service in Ireland for 21cyrs. Now I have a small farm with chickens and a thriving organic siness. I love your channel. I hope my interaction helps you continue to do this xx
Love the video. Always a pleasure to see how your mum expresses her love for all her animals on the farm. Sad to learn the ducks ended up as food for Mr Fox. Stay healthy and safe and keer creating content please. Grts from the Netherlands.
Lovely video I have a small farm were im full time With sheep in oxfordshire I think i have watched all of your videos at least 3 times. I have 3 call ducks in with my chickens all from eggs they are about 11 years old now and still cant more tham 3 feet from them. But the chickens will sit on your knee So i think its just the way ducks are.
@@Supersagger1980 What a brilliant comment, thank you Richard. Hahah, will be telling that story about your 11 year relationships with ducks you can't get closer than 3 feet too - at least we weren't alone!!
Another superb video! Thanks for another glimpse into your life. Just a thought, there is a turkey farmer down the road from us who uses lamas to keep predators (like foxes I presume) away from the turkeys. The lamas always stick close to the turkeys as they think the turkeys are it’s babies 😂 I wonder if that would work for ducks?
We have a pond and I was wondering a bit about ducks, but then we had a family of foxes, so I think I will stay with the goats and horses we have. It was so heartbreaking listening to your mom on the podcast.
I have Muscovy's coming out of my ears. They are nice to see out on the property and in the pond but not friendly. I believe they are technically water birds. we once had Pekin and they are much more friendly.
If you try ducks again, talk to the eggs so they know your voice, and handle the ducklings during their first few weeks. Most ducks are skittish, but not all breeds are equally so. Do research on breeds and buy known breed hatching eggs, until you get used to duck keeping. Make sure they have predator proof night housing. I love my ducks, but If I want to cuddle a bird, I go to my chickens, they tolerate it better and are not usually damp.
One of the best (if not THE best) youtube channels. Never stop.

I recommend you get a few alpacas as chicken and duck guards!

Интересное видео.
Foxes will often kill for the fun of it. I can never understand why people think they’re such sweet creatures.
They have to be 1 year old to lay
Very sorry about your ducks
All ducks are a bit like that. Just not very friendly 🤷
So when you staying up to find the little ginger bugger who stole the ducks 🦆 🦊🔫
A bit ignorant the young lad... Didn't he grow up with his mom?
(spoiler alert) Oh NOOOOOO! All of them! Ugh! I think you need to have an illegal fox hunt on your property.
