I would suggest it shows how low Seve was in confidence. Slightly tragic seeing Seve struggling, like seeing your grandfather trying to walk after a stroke. Clearly a good level of trust between the two of them, Seve did the line drill in the bunker with more diligence than most of us - and he had 5 Major championships under his belt. From my understanding, Seve had changed his technique along the way and Mac was showing him what he used to do...Mac’s research included Seve’s prior technique and thus Seve trusted his eye.
The reason, why he has not got enough weight on his left, is because he is lifting his arms and he doesn't need to do that. If he wants to take a wider backswing , he simply needs to increase left knee bend. The arms are switched off !!!!
Putting the weight left, is not totally correct, it needs to be : left right and then left again. If you keep left all the way , that lead leg, will be stuck in concrete and slow the swing motion down 😅
Seve’s natural talent had given him a terrible ‘93 season. He went to O’Grady (his long-time friend) for that reason. It was also to give him a new swing that took the pressure off his lower back, which was killing him by this point. Woosnam only got ‘technical’ after his natural talent had run out of steam.
