Excellent video, even at 80 I learned so much and will try to emulate what you are teaching. One question, I have a garage with an east-facing window and a garden shed with a west-facing window, would one be better than the other? Neither has heat and I live in Metro Vancouver BC which I suspect has milder winters than your area.
Hello. Great video. Must you cut with a knife the stem? I have used my garden scissors and cut below a leaf node during the plant trimming. Have you done it without knife cutting the stems ?
Thank you, Ava. Alice uses a sharp blade, but as long as your scissors are very sharp and sanitized, they would work too. Scissors and secateurs that aren't sharp can crush the stem, a knife/blade that is sharp does less damage.
I have watched about half a dozen videos on this topic today. This is by far the best. I learned a lot, including what to do better with my geraniums next year! Thank you so much. Susan in Toronto.
Thank You! 🙏 a ton of great information. ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks for the tip on reusing the vermiculite! I didn't know that is possible.
Great addvice.
Thanks. Amazing clear video. I wonder if this method works for dahlias too?

Hello Bob. Alice's answer to your question is :
The west-facing garden shed window should work, provided that it doesn’t freeze.
Happy gardening!
What if you don't have a basement?

Why would you record a video with what sounds like an air compressor running in the background?
😆
