I think the actual reason everyone seems to think it's fixed is because most likely the Mic on the second kick drum was not coming through the mains. Perhaps the channel was muted or something at the board. So in editing the for the video the track was there but it wasn't sent out through the main house speakers, although it was recorded. That would be my educated guess. Hence, the triplets sound weird because you aren't hearing them only some of the hits from on of the kicks. So basically a sound related problem.
No, the real problem is that I will guarantee you that Lars has spent zero time practicing a dotted quarter or eigth note syncopation against a metronome. Bless the guys in his band for putting up with him turning the count upside down and inside out. And most of the fans are wasted and not musicians so everyone is able to pretend it's no big deal. But as a drummer I am not fooled. In fact I've been fired from gigs for less. Lars is lucky. For some reason he never had to put in any solid work and it shows. But he was still able to be part of a very popular band. Oh well, that's life.

Yeah, I'm seeing people battle back and forth about how it's the microphones, and no, he hasn't been able to play this cleanly for decades. He was even on Howard Stern showing how he played it, and he was flubbing it there as well, albeit not nearly this bad.
@@sydhamelin1265 It was the mics tho... I was there, at the front. You could hear them, really quiet, but you could. Download's sound engineer messed up multiple times in other songs as well.
@@BR_L1nx I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but bad mics wouldn't, and couldn't replicate what we're hearing here. Technically, it's an impossibility. Also, the mics were working fine up until that point, and they worked fine all through Enter Sandman. Furthermore, you can actually hear Lars flubbing the double bass by doing what's called flamming. A flam is two hits in quick succession, which he does during the double bass part in One. That's a blatant flub, and it's the result of his 2nd bass drum hitting way too close to his first one - which happens when you're not in control of what you're doing. Also, even front row, you're not hearing the acoustic drums, you're hearing the PA, and most likely what threw you off was hearing the bass guitar hitting in time, which it is. The band carries that part and compensates. But again, smoking gun on this is that the microphones were working fine the whole time, so the idea that they broke for ONE specific part, that he NOTORIOUSLY can't play? No. I'd suggest going back and watching other live videos of him playing One, anytime from the late 90s up until today, and you'll see - he just can't play it with consistency. Some nights he gets it, others he flubs it. He's out of shape.
