I'm going to for sure, but I really feel like my vote is going to count for nothing living in a trump supporting town. Electoral College is going to overshadow my vote and any rural center right/center/left leaning individuals because of the huge mass of far right conservatives. I can't go down a single street here without being greeted to at least three trump-pence banners and flags. Hell people are still waving confederate flags around here. I'm white and I'm uncomfortable with seeing confederate flags, I can't imagine what our town's growing black/latino population feels when they see them. Honestly, I want to hope for the best and think my vote counts but I can't go honestly say I have any confidence in anything here anymore, where emotions triumph over facts and logic and we are steadily sliding towards authoritarianism.

1) SC Justice Trimble died August 15, 1828, 67 days before the next election. Adams lost reelection but tried to nominate Crittenden On Dec 17. The nomination was rejected and *reserved for newly elected Jackson.*
2) SC Justice Milton announced his retirement on September 7, 1956, 53 days before the election. Eisenhower nominated Brennen Jan 14 *after he had won the reelection.*

Turns out, in the past, there were at least some politicians who had principles they stood by. Too bad *real* honor and integrity are no longer an integral part of politics today.
Eisenhower and Harding both nominated liberal Justices. Eisenhower nominated Chief Justice Warren, a republican, whom oversaw one of the most liberal Supreme Courts in history. Eisenhower picked Justice Warren because he knew Democrats are Republicans both would respect him and he would do what's correct for the country.

You're probably too young to remember the John Birch Society's "Impeach Earl Warren" campaign in the '50s and '60s, but believe me, there were actual billboards with that slogan on them along a lot of highways.
