We’re doing a cover of this song in my band, and I asked my guitar teacher to help with it but we haven’t gone over all of the parts yet, so this literally saved me a ton of time. Thank you!!!
So fun fact I discovered while playing along with the recording. They tuned the guitar slightly sharp while recording. Why you ask? Well the old piano used in the recording was slightly out of key. So everything got tuned to match the piano since it is way easier to tune a guitar than a piano! The more ya know!
Man I swear to god when I was playing along with the original recording on guitar I thought I was out of tune and it was driving me crazy because I wasn't, I'm so happy I read this comment because it was absolute madness...

Pretty damn good and seems almost completely right. I have issues with the chord played at ‘take that look from off your face’ as I think almost everyone gets that wrong. It’s definitely a G# chord but the best analysis of it I’ve seen has it as 4X43, as it seems to be the chord Noel is actually playing in live performances.
I played bass and I definitely play the G# root note for that chord but when I played on guitar, it definitely sound right with e7/G#, but can probably get away with e7 only.
@@SparkyGuitaroh yeah, he’s an amazing guitarist. He’s not a shredder but he always puts in whatever the song needs. He always likes to downplay it but anyone that can write as many killer tunes as he has is incredible. He’s a couple years older than me but for my money, I think he’s the best songwriter of my generation.

Nicely done. Got that Exact same LP Studio. Had that exact same 335 I think, 1979, coil taps, had a trapeze tail and then a Bigsby, then back to the trapeze, witch hat knobs. Frets were low. Same one, I wonder?
This one is a 76... and when I got it the trapeze had been replaced with a stop tail. I'm glad I added the Bigsby - though I was sweating when I had to drill the screw hole!
Tuning details are always in the description under the video. For this one you need to change the calibration of your tuner as it isn’t in standard (A=440Hz) pitch.

It’s a standard ES-335 from 1976… apart from the Bigsby which I added recently. The 335’s in the late 70’s had a coil-tap switch… which works really well! The colour was also quite standard then. Jamie Cooke from Arctic Monkeys plays one that is identical (almost… it has a different Bigsby model)
Great tab. Thank you! But in the chorus, at "take that look from off your face" your tab and playing don't match. I like your use of the octave there, though.
Good question. First - 2 identical guitars playing the same thing still adds depth. Plus you can pan them differently to give them more stereo space. 2 different guitars playing the same thing will add a lot of texture. So a les Paul will sound different to a 335. Even more so when you put a Les Paul next to a Strat (Smashing pumpkins) or Les Paul next to a Tele (Pixies). The amps and pedals make those sonic differences more significant. And this is all true even if they play the same thing. The reality is most times the 2 players are playing 2 different versions of the same chord. In oasis Bonehead always plays barre chords - but Noel often plays open chords. So they compliment each other. Finally. You often see 2 guitarists playing the same thing for part of a song - which keeps it simple. But then diverge for (say) the chorus. That adds a lot of texture to a song. Hope that helps - and I’m sure others have some good views on this too!
Hi. Details are in the description below the video. The song was sped up when they recorded it - or they tuned it to a dodgy piano in the studio (I can’t remember!). So you have to tune your guitar up to match the record. If you calibrate your tuner to 449hz that should sort it.
