My family and I watched the first moon landing while staying at the Baker Hotel (20 July 1969, for those who don't remember the date). It was on a black and white tv and we all gathered (mom, dad, and five kids) in one room to watch it. My sister celebrated her 15th birthday there the next day. My dad had been transferred to Fort Wolters and the Baker Hotel is where we had to stay until base housing became available. I've been back to Mineral Wells twice over the years. Us siblings plan to return this December, after attending a nephew's wedding in Dallas. Great memories...lots of them. Can't wait to stay there again in 2024.
Last July, I have seen Baker Hotel in progress video. Now, it looks lot better than before. And yes, I know that lot of historical buildings restoration isn’t easy either.
Happy to see this, for it is truly a Grand Hotel..

Wondered what band guests danced to in the late 1920s at the Baker Hotel then listen to Henry Lange and his Baker Hotel Orchestra on youtube !
They're doing a great job, it makes me wish they can come restore my city's abandoned 10-story hotel that was built the same year as The Baker Hotel
Four numbers out of six kept me from buying it, back when it was available. Can`t wait to reserve a room.
this is great. Drove through Mineral Wells years ago and that hotel looked sooo spooky!!!
Because it houses three spirits. One died in the elevators, the second was the original owner's jilted mistress, the third was a child.
Great post
Can’t wait til it opens
