    ===========================
    FORMULA BREAKDOWN
    Litokol Epoxy grout - mixing ratios simplified:
    Component A - 93.7 parts by weight, Component B - 6.3 parts by weight (total = 100)
    A kitchen scale is great to measure out the grout
    If you calculate that you need 100 grams of grout, weigh out 93.7 grams Part A, and 6.3 grams Part B
    If you need, for example, 145 grams of grout, you will need:
    (145/100) x 93.7 Part A, (i.e 1.45 x 93.7 = 135.8 grams) and
    (145/100) x 6.3 Part B, (i.e 1.45 x 6.3 = 9.2 grams)

      Thankyou very much, that's fabulous its a great grout, I think you may have been the person that asked about the mesh and translucent grout, hence this video. :) I cant find your previous comment about using thinset or silicone. I cant speak specifically about your job because there are variables I cannot see but for me I would be using thinset and not silicone to adhere mesh to cement sheet. I use a notched trowel scraper that stops me applying to much thinset, the notches come in different depths. :)

    Hi Peter, thanks for introducing this product.
    I have a wooden tray doing mosaic with vitreous tiles. I'm going to use this Grout.
    Now my question is does it stain the wood while I'm grouting like normal sanded Grout, as the edge of tray is totally wood.
    Thanks

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  2 года назад

      Thankyou and my pleasure. I would think you would need to cover the wood because it is epoxy that you are dealing with. Definitely read the manufactures technical data sheet before purchasing, its available on the manufactures website and retailers website, its very easy to read. Or you can give distributor a call, Tile Doctor, if you're in the USA. :)

    Thanks for the vidoe: I had my installer leave the resideu overnight (yes, I know) and now I have a dirty look/haze form this left on my glass tile (backsplash). I woudl gretaly appreciate your advice on how to REMOVE it? Do I have to use a stripper and grout again? or any easier solutions? thanks a bunch

    • @TreasuryRoad

      You would need to contact Litokol or your nearest reseller to seek professional advice on this and quite quickly. If its a residue you have left on then you may still be able to remove the haze if its in a 24 hour period. Best of luck. :)

    Are you taking what you need out of the big tub and catalyzing epoxy packet? If so, how do you seal the epoxy so it doesn't dry out? I have a 2ft x 3ft tiled garden window bottom I'd like to use this on, is it hard to get the grout to stay in the channels? Thank you in advance for your answers! I'm rewatching the first video you did on this, so that answered my question about storing the epoxy. The only size bucket we can buy here in the states is, 5.5 or 11 lbs.

      Thankyou so much. l find the Litokol translucent grout is a lot easier to keep in the grout lines than sanded grout. Yes l just take out what l need out of part a and part b, the catalyst which l think is part b l just put the original packet into a double ziplock bag but the original videos will show you that. 😊

    What do you think of using it on an uneven surface. In other words, I am using different heights of glass and thinking that this won't be so obvious of the different layers as regular grout. Your thoughts please.

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  2 года назад

      If you go to my video Translucent Grout Tutorial, I have used crockery which is uneven and will most likely show you how the grout looks with uneven pieces. Bear in mind this grout isn't suited for crockery, its best used on glass because the grout reflects the surrounding glass colours. How well it looks I suppose is dependent on the different heights of the glass and the type of glass used. :)

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  7 месяцев назад

      You need to choose the right job for the Litokol Translucent epoxy grout, its a specialized product, I would think for stepping stones it would be a waste. Always read the technical data sheet which is on the manufactures website and is very easy to read if you are unsure of any product. They will tell you what the product can and cannot do and what it can be used for. This is what I do and takes out any guesswork. :)

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  2 года назад +1

      I have used it on a sample GOG, if you look at my video on translucent grout and grout bleed that will probably help you. When using it, it gives a frosted glass look which I would have thought would look a lot less impactful on a piece if you compare it to the normal grouts on the market even from the back. Have a look at my other translucent grout videos so you have a better understanding of the product especially the first one I posted. :)

      If you use glass, preferably semi transparent glass up to 3mm grout lines the Litokol Translucent works as it should. If you use anything else other than glass then the grout takes on a frosted look. There have been a lot of people using it and if it didn't work then there would be a lot of unhappy people, the manufacture would be wrong as well as myself. This is clearly only your finding which goes against everyone else and my experience with it.

      @merlinmosaica5953 Год назад +1

      Sorry, this grout most definitely IS translucent… it does allow light through. You can’t see through it. Transparent allows clear vision, opaque (normal cement grout) allows no light through. Peter is completely correct.

    • @katula14
      @katula14 Год назад

      Oh that means translucent,, how tricky. Well it doesn't even allow light. Unless you get the light from the glassy mosaics. Or maybe there would be some tiny light if it was against a glass door, not upon a cement wall. 😾

    • @merlinmosaica5953

      Obviously if it is on an opaque substrate, the result will appear opaque. However, if you apply it to a clear (glass or acrylic) substrate, then there is much more light streaming through. Watch Peter’s first Litokol video, where he does glass on glass.
