@@alpaca_1215 I really want to see the balloon mech. It one shot kills things but has a downside of like a really long wind up time or something. Like longer then every kiting period and still pops from getting hit

You can't move until you finish swinging it. (Cork Bat)
My theory for wes skill tree is that it will be like project zomboid where if you get a debuff it gives you insight which lets you buy more upsides meaning more downsides you choose lets you pick more upsides
It would give people the freedom to make super hardcore Wes too which I think would be awesome a character like wes would work great with difficulty customization
I think creativity is a better skill then just knowing the game. I used to be really scared of fighting deerclops. So I would run away and wouldn't. Many people would say that I would have a hard time in spring then. Not really. I don't hear people talk about rain hats. It's not 100% but it's easily remedied by occasionally lighting a tree on fire, which we were already doing during the winter anyway. The game wants you to succeed. There are many ways to do the same thing.
Lol I used to be scared to fight bosses too! I’d usually make it through just fine the first year by wearing a top hat (football helmets also work) and holding an umbrella, which gives you 100% rain resistance. I’ve always played Wendy so naturally I always had enough silk to clothe an army due to decimating the local spider population with Abigail. As a result, I never really felt I needed an eyebrella 🤷 I would get it the second year once i was more prepared to fight deerclops just for convenience’s sake, but even now I sometimes don’t fight seasonal bosses in the first year because none of their items are things I can’t live without. Like… I don’t think I have ever looked at any of the items crafted with bearger’s thick fur and said ‘man, i really wish I had that, that would make my life so much easier!’. It usually just stays in a chest forever.
the way the server lagged with the balloon armor trap really made me wonder just how much Wes made Edit: 2:32 the fact that the fuelweaver hit animation took a while to register and by the time it did theres just a few frame of Wes and FW dying followed immediately by the frame of FW Already dead and Wes a ghost with no in between
Ive talked about this in other videos, but i think for his skill tree if they dont go the route of "more usseless funee ballon", i think something related to his "unluckyness" could be fun For example, for one of his lunar alighments i thought that he could craft an equipable moon glass mirror, and when he equips it, it immediatly shatters and starts a meteor shower were it broke
I think this is a cool video, nice job! Personally I think there are two main things that I feel about this character. The first is that while I agree that using different strategies to solve the same problems is good and one of the great things about this game, I don't think Wes does this in a meaningful enough way imo. He is a challenge character in a sense but I think that for most people who know how to survive in the game already that he doesn't pose enough of a challenge other than making you slower. Stacking hundreds or thousands of balloons is a creative method to handle bosses but is also a massive timesink and also probably insanely (ha) boring. I think it would be interesting if he was nerfed a bit more and the balloons were reworked in a way that allowed them to be utilized in more ways to encourage relying on them to handle things in the game maybe? Idk. Realistically I don't think they should do that though, at least not for DST, because of my second feeling on this character, which is that I don't think it's a good idea for him -a 'challenge" character of sorts- to exist in a co-op survival game that is heavily designed around and strongly advertised as being a multiplayer experience. If someone picks him it ends up feeling like a burden for other people in that playthrough. For singleplayer DS Wes is fine, because the downside of playing as the character doesn't extend towards anyone else. But in a co-op setting it's weird that the game still gives you a challenge option when it usually makes things less fun for other players in the process. You could possibly argue something similar for Wilson but he's really just boring more than intentionally weak. Wes already possesses some team utility and I wish it would be expanded on in some capacity, or if not then just remove the character entirely at that point. Maybe that's just me but that's how I feel about it.
Wilson, if he was slightly worse: Wes' Main perk is the fact he has absolutely amazing skins. It's the price you pay for playing him. I would honestly say he is a novelty pick otherwise. He is mostly just a slower Wilson with few perks that sound cool on paper, but lack practicality.
Dumb idea for wes skill tree. Wes has 100% physical resistance while wearing any armor, but the armor takes 1.5x damage while wearing the armor. It would also be pretty funny if his skill tree was built on distracting enemies and spawning unlikely dangers more often. Which is silly since it probably won't do anything helpful in singleplayer for newer and less experienced players.
If Wes isn't receiving his balloon-mech with the skill tree - we riot
I want it to be something silly like needing 15 points spent to be able to unlock it... Now that you don't have any points to spend.
the next skill tree update will allow Wes to throw Eiffel towers at his enemies, making him the best character in don't starve together

I'd like to see his skill tree having only one unlock, that just allows him to whistle
But then it's a dog whistle, so nobody can hear it except hounds

you cant really stand under a tree and lit it on fire

On that note, I hope his skill tree would make him require to use already existing things in the game than anything given extra for him specifically.

yeah it just takes 3200 balloons half that if you want to use a stack of gunpowder too. so that way you are not as laggy as shown in the video.
This is one of the reasons im disliking dsy becoming a character focused game. Maybe i shouod main wes.
His name begins with W because he is the worst character
