It's my first visit to your channel. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Eagerly anticipating your upcoming adventures. Best wishes. Warm regards from Adelaide, Australia. 👍👏
Chin up Miss D! Bad day detecting/exploring is better than a good day working. 14:45 looks a lot like one of my first detecting finds in the central Victorian goldfields, a gold anodized aluminium eyelet. For a brief heart stopping moment I thought I'd come upon the motherload! 😂
I think I would have avoided that spooky house on Halloween. The gold coloured tarp ring would have fooled anyone on first sight. Thanks for sharing your day 👍
It was creepy in the old cottage and I don't blame you for getting out. Not a lot of finds but at least it was something and you had your nice broccoli to enjoy later.
In Spring-time I keep my eyes open for primroses growing in hedge-lines. These often indicate the presence of old footpaths. The prima rosa, in it's indigenous form, remains in the soil for hundreds of years (spraying permitted). I've found two un-charted, really productive Medieval sites that both have a sunken footways, next to eroded earthen/ blackthorn hedges, leading to and from them. Initially, I took the sunken footways to be un-cleaned drainage ditches. But who would plant primroses the whole length of them? Spring is a way to go, Ellie, but there's a pointer for you. If you don't already know it.
You might have been tricked but as always you're a real treat. Come now Miss Ellie. All spirits aren't bad. But I know what you mean. Nice to have someone to watch your back.
19:20 a late Medieval Brass Tarpaulin Grommet and 13:50 a Gold Anodised Aluminium Tarpaulin grommet 😁The one headphone trick is a good one, or use the sound on the puck. Happy All Hallows, Samhain. A Grommet sort of day but no Wallace and no cheese!, but good Broccoli.
Top tip...ruins of buildings and woodland detect around dec to jan, undergrowth and grasses are at their lowest...and if you dont find any tudor Stewart coinage around that building id be amazed.
@@Themootubersmetaldetecting I tell you what they did a great job with the gold plating colour it’s absolutely spot on had me fooled for a split second!
I wouldn't mind detecting around the outside of the dwelling, however......I didn't like the looks or the vibe of the inside. I tried listening with the sound up when you heard something, and I couldn't hear anything. What did it sound like?
It sounded like a big twig cracking underfoot. I had both of my headphones on and I felt like it had come from behind me - I honestly thought someone was there!

Hi love spooky old houses like that 😀 think the gold ring was a tar-poling eyelet oh and the 1£ find was well spent 👍 Tony
Hmmmm, yes…. I felt uneasy about that ruin as well.
Smart thinking slipping one ear out when in doubt 🤙😎🇦🇺

Aha so they did have some kind of grommets way back then? That’s great to know - will research 🧐

I don't usually make jokes on serious subjects, especially IDing which is my speciality, but that was too good to miss
BOO!!
Happy Halloween 🥴
Happy Halloween!
Thx for the Video in this beautiful landscape
@@rick3727 thank you for watching 🙂🙂 hope you’re subscribed!
The gold thing is the same as the one you found in the house. They're both tarpaulin grommets 😂
Foiled again! Just so annoying. Anyway at least I got my £1. 😂👍🏻
@miss_detectorist you did! A pound is better than nowt! That broccoli was bloody expensive though! 😆
Awwww, chin up MissD! You win some, you lose some. At least you scored a nice head of broccoli. Winner! 👍
Yep them’s the breaks!
Your rivet looks like a tower Pin eye let, Barry brave good video well done
@@tonybyron6200 cheers yep it had my heart beating for a little minute!!
Shame you didn't find much in the house. Interesting to be inside though. To think that was somewhere someone once called home.
Incredible how nature has reclaimed it…
Trick or treat! At least you weren’t camping in that old house and there during the witching hours! Happy Halloween everyone from the USA!
@@jamesblake7338 there is absolutely no way I would camp in there - definite vibes!
you have got the bug keep getting out and about.
I sure have!
Good day, ruined buildings are my favorite places for metal detecting
Very atmospheric might go back when the winter comes and there’s less leaves
@miss_detectorist If you,re right, It,s a better time
In the olden days they used to put something nice underneath either the corner stone or under the entrance way for good luck.
I’ll be sure to double check in winter when the foliage dies back. 🙂👍🏻
@ looking forward to the video, thanks mate.
It was a treat to watch you get tricked! Very riveting too! BWAHAHAHAHA now get home before dark!!!
Happy Halloween! boo!
Brilliant 😂
You may have been tricked but it was a treat to see you. Better luck next time don't get disheartened. 😂
Never disheartened still smiling 😂

I’ll be going back in winter for sure!
I found some good finds
Gooooo Ellie!!!!
Cheers Greg!
The gold object looks like an eyelet from a tarpaulin or similar
Where were you when I needed that ID 😂😂😫
Can’t win them all keep going 😅
Will do 😂👍🏻
The gold ring is a tarpaulin eyelet.
@@Themootubersmetaldetecting I tell you what they did a great job with the gold plating colour it’s absolutely spot on had me fooled for a split second!
I guessed that it was Halloween from your windswept hair. You only get that from zooming manvours on ya broom.
My hair was standing on end I think 😂👻
If broccoli is a treat then you haven,t lived yet.
I do consider good food a massive treat - but don’t worry I’ve lived alongside 😂
I swear I have seen someone else exploring this same house.
I think it has a fairly familiar look aka spooky and abandoned 😂 but otherwise very much off the beaten track

Hi Ellie. Are the ring marks on the wall near the hearth? If so I think I know what they are
Right above it, pretty much dead centre if I remember correctly
