    Looks like a small evacuation concidering the source and the amount of smoke.I wouldn't want to be within 50 miles of that source.Still haven't heard what exactly was burning.The claim in the press conference was that the fire was a reaction of the water from a sprinkler coming in contact with a substance stored in the facility.Not sure what reacts like that to water, I know lithium does and I'm sure that's not the only thing that will.The most disturbing thing is the fact that they are not saying what chemicals or substances burned in the fire.

    I assume one of the more hazardous oxidizers are involved which happen to be a main ingredient in pool chemicals. An oxidizer can dramatically increase the combustibility of anything. And chlorine compounds are also in some pool chemicals. I remember inspecting the place for FM in the roughly 2008 time-frame. They've had other fires of public record. One in the early 2000's burned down a building. Now that the plant was bought by a smaller company since then I might wonder if it will survive - especially with the likelihood of future litigation and liabilities over this incident. Maybe they deserve to go out of business, and considering the harm or potential harm to the community, but on the other hand, I think about the jobs.

      Hi, Pres. Putin. Trump's Supreme Court just ruled against EPA regulation. Republican states make sure there's no budget for pesky safety inspections. Republican Congress making sure Biden's Clean Air Policy doesn't annoy big business or billionaires. America needs Harris plus House plus Senate, or we are going to be poisoned over and over.

      @randibgood -
      No but Biden’s EPA did give the go ahead to burn the 5 tankers of vinyl choloride from the East Palestine train derailment.
      A burn that sent thick black toxic clouds high into the air. Containing toxic chemicals like phosgene and hydrogen chloride, which were later found in detectable amounts in 540,000 square miles over 16 states, or about 14% of the USA.
      A burn that was later found to be unnecessary btw, as Jennifer Homendy chair of the National Transportation Saftey Board (NTSB) later testified before congress.
      Now ok it was the EPA, not Biden who order the burn. Ok fair enough. You can’t blame him for that…..
      But what I can blame Biden for is why it took him a whole year to visit the area for support. The derailment happened February 3rd 2023, and Biden literally waited until February 16th 2024 before he finally showed up for the 1 year anniversary of the disaster when he thought “oh shoot it’s an election year I better seem like I care now”
      Then again maybe it’s not Bidens fault as he does have dementia after all, he probably didn’t know any better right?

      For real, if anything look to see who wants deregulations. Who wants to get rid of EPA and who took out railroad safety barriers in 2108 and had Palestine, OH happen. Trump.
      America needs better than Dems and Reps.
